Spring Break '08 with Tri-Circle-D!!!

The little red dodge golf cart was there when we where back in November.

Hey TCD, do you ever explore the old railroad while you are out and about?
I tried to walk the entire route a couple of years ago, but some areas are pretty much jungle now.

And I am spending every penny of it on Camping supplies!!! (and more haha)

So far stopping has been easy (I was close to 3 packs a day thank you very much) it's the staying stopped that's hard. lol But so far so good. I am really throwing myself into the whole camping thing instead.

Great pics TCD! Loved seeing the latest shots of the Fort, and I agree, they really are sinking money into the Fort, and it's starting to show!

Thanks for sharing TCD!!! Those are great pictures, although the gator in the canal freaks me out....agghhh!!!

I've met the guy who owns this. He's okay!:thumbsup2 This is the first year he has stayed at FtW this long. IIRC, he came for the last 3 weeks in Dec & 1st three in Jan for vacation. This year he retired and gave himself a BIG retirement present.

On the site behind his are good friends of ours - who have been wintering at FtW for about 10 years. I think this will be their last year however, because it's become too expensive.

After many years of visiting the Fort without the TCD DK9 (Dear Canine) it was finally the TCD dog's day.

On this trip, Mrs. TCD stayed back at the home base at the beginning of the trip. Her assignment was to rescue DD16 who can no longer possibly afford to stay at the Fort for a week, less her social life come to a screeching halt. So the plan was that Mrs. TCD would travel over to rescue the DD16 some time mid week.

When we got our site assignment, we found that we were assigned to a pet loop. After some lengthy negotiations, it was agreed that the DK9 would travel over with Mrs. TCD for the rescue mission, and get to enjoy a night or two at the Fort.

Have you ever seen a dog smile?

Take a look at the TCD DK9 in this photo:

BTW, that is me (TCD) there in the back seat with the DK9, and TCD DD16 there in the drivers seat. I am breaking protocol by posting a photo of myself, but the huge smile on the DK9's face is priceless, and I had to share.

So anyway, we are off to the Dog Park!

First, proper introductions need to be made:

After everybody is properly introduced, it is time to run with the pack!

DK9 had a blast:

BTW the DK9 is a boxer. She is "big boned." She was once mistaken for a St. Bernard. The man who called her that won't make that mistake again. (DK9 is sensitive about her weight issue.)

The Dog Park was a big hit with the TCD family. Also, the DK9 loved driving around on the golf cart.

We were in site 409. Most of the Flowers were the plush type with wire inside the stems so they keep taking them off every time it rained which was a lot at the end of the week.

I definitely drove by your site a couple of times, then. I was surprised by all of the rain. This time of year is usually very dry. My DD's were quite disappointed when the thunder and lightning started during the High School Musical 2 movie.

What...the show isn't over is it....:confused3

More please...:cutie:

Oh, come on. You know the show couldn't possibly be over. I have plenty more. In fact, I haven't even posted my favorite photo yet. I will get to that some time today. :)

Nice photos! Thanks so much for sharing!

Hey TCD, do you ever explore the old railroad while you are out and about?
I tried to walk the entire route a couple of years ago, but some areas are pretty much jungle now.

Tony- Yes, I do check out the old railroad. On one of our very first trips to the fort in the early 90's, I remember walking the a good portion of the route, and ending up by the Settlement Bus Stop. It was still clear enough to walk most of the route then. Now, a lot of the ties have been pulled up, and there really is no way to walk the path behind the 700 loop.

Great pics TCD! Loved seeing the latest shots of the Fort, and I agree, they really are sinking money into the Fort, and it's starting to show!

Hey Colson39! It's been a long time! Thanks for the props! I agree with you about the Fort starting to look a lot better. I actually had mixed emotions seeing all of the surveyors, and long deferred maintenance finally being done. I kind of grew accustomed to the Fort being a forgotten gem. I have some concerns about what it is going to be like when it is all gussied up. It will certainly be busier, and harder to get a spot. Oh well, change is inevitable, and I was amongst those who used to bemoan the fact that the Fort was literally decaying before our eyes. Can't say that any more! The definite silver lining in all of this, is that the Fort is definitely here to stay for at least our lifetimes! Woo Hoo!

I think I took pics of it in December. What a cute golf cart!

Thank you for all the pics TCD! :goodvibes

You are welcome!

Thanks for sharing TCD!!! Those are great pictures, although the gator in the canal freaks me out....agghhh!!!

The gator didn't want anything to do with anyone. I wish I had the camera out when I arrived at my site. When I pulled in, I noticed that there was a long piece of black hose laying by the sewer drain. I thought maybe the site cleaners were slipping. I didn't want to have to touch some nasty old hose. So after parking, I walked around to take a look. The "hose" started to slither away!! It was the longest black snake I have ever seen at the Fort- and me without the camera ready. D'oh

Glad everyone is enjoying the photos so far. Be sure to check back later today, when I am going to post my favorite photo from this trip!

Before I post my favorite photo from the latest trip, let me get a few out of the way.

Here is a photo of an interestingly decorated golf cart. I don't know what the plan is if it rains:

Also, not sure what the pumpkin is doing there in April?

I know that there is an interesting story to go with this photo, but, unfortunately, I do not know what it is. Sorry to let you down :(

This cart was abandoned one evening. Looks like one of the front wheels is about to fall off.

Probably was some under-aged, joyriding, smoking, beer-drinking peacocks that swiped the cart, wrecked it, and then flew off before getting caught. ;)

Here's a photo of a big kick-ball game. They were hurrying to finish before a thunderstorm hit.

Last photo for this morning (have to make up for lack of posting yesterday).

A photo from the beach, looking at one of the first ferries of the morning:

Nothing like that early morning ferry!

More great pictures, ugh, now I want to go, how old should Reilly be before I take him to Disney? lol

yea, that's what most people have told me, although to be honest, I think we're just going to wait till October...lol. Although I was only a few months old when I had my first trip :)

Technically, so was my oldest (although he was younger, about 1 month old then, since we moved to OH when he was 7 wks old), but we just went to DTD. Which can be worse than the actual parks. Well, that & he was born at Celebration's hospital. So he had the Disney magic around him at birth!!:lmao:

These pictures are great! I wonder how much of the work will be done by the time we go in early December...

My DD's have practically grown up at the Fort. The sooner the better!
