Southwest EBCI, a toddler and RAC at POFQ?

Hi,

We will be staying at POFQ from march 20 until the 27th.

We will fly with Southwest airlines for the first time and I am not familiar with their procedures at all, even after going through the "boarding school"

I have a few questions and will be really grateful if someone has answers for me:

1.- We are a group of 2 adults, a 7 yo and a 15 mo toddler. I read that people with babies board between groups A and B, so I was wondering if I should buy EBCI or if it is not worth it.

2.- Can someone confirm if SW is at RAC in POFQ?

3.- We have breakfast at Chef Mickey´s on our last day, if SW RAC is not yet participating in POFQ, would it be possible for us to bring our bags to the Contemporary and check them there?

4.- We will not have internet access during the week, should I ask the concierge at POFQ to do our check in the night before, do the RAC at either POFQ or CR the next day, or wait until the airport and see if we indeed board between A and B?

5.- If we do the check in at the hotel, could we keep a small bag with us and just check that one bag at the airport SW counters?

As long as you have put the yellow tags on your bags then you do not have to get them at the air port. You will just have to take them to the bus when you leave. As for SW I have seen them take familes with babies on between the groups and they always seem to get good seats. If you check in online right at the 24 hr mark then you have a good chance of getting a A pass anyway. The front desk has always helped us out with online check in and they will even print your boarding passes for you.

1. Yes, you should be able to board in between the two groups. I wouldn't worry about EBCI for your flight to MCO, but would consider buying it for the flight home...just easier to not have to worry about checking in yourself.

2. Don't know yet. But, since you've already booked with SW, it doesn't matter. If they are indeed participating at your resort, then terrific. You get to use it. But, if they aren't doing it yet, then just take your bags with you, back to MCO.

3. No. You won't be allowed to bring bags on a bus with you. If you were to get a cab, you still wouldn't be allowed to use RAC there. Almost 100% of the time, the RAC people will ask to see resort ID...they are not allowed to let anyone not staying at that particular resort use RAC there.

4. As I said before, buy EBCI for the flight home.

5. Your resort can store any bags you need at Bell Sevices/Luggage Assistence. That can be any checked bags if you aren't able to use RAC, or just your carryon bag. I wouldn't bother keeping any bag that would need to be checked at the SW counter...that defeats the purpose of RAC. That line can get nasty. Just keep a carryon bag for each ticketed person, and leave it with Bell Services. Then get it before you board the bus back to MCO.

I should have specified that we are only flying Southwest out of MCO because we are traveling to San Antonio then. We live in Mexico and will fly Aeromexico from Mexico to Orlando.

We will have a car, and the only reason why I would be interested in RAC is because I don´t want to lug our bags all from the rentar car return line to the southwest counter inside the airport.

Since we have a rental, I was thinking on bringing the bags in the car and use RAC at the Contemporary so it is really helpful to know that they will want a resort ID from that particular resort and I won´t be able to use it by showing my POFQ.

So far one poster says not to bother with EBCI and one says to buy EBCI. Any more opinions, please?

How important is it to you that you sit together? Will you be able to be somewhere to check in 24 hours ahead (do you want to have to quit what you are doing and go to a computer) If boarding is limited to under 2 and 1 adult do you care if the rest of your family is scattered through out the plane?

Only you can answer where your priority is.

It is very important for me that I am together with my 2 daughters, and don´t mind if the other adult isn´t next to us.

I can go to our hotel concierge 24 hours before and ask for help with the check in.

If this is the situation, do I still need EBCI or not?

I would not bother purchasing the early bird. Since you have a 15 mth old you can board between A&B as others have indicated. you will all be sitting together. If you don't care whether you sit at the front or the back of the plane, I would not worry about it at all. I have even had a "C" boarding pass and we all still sat together. Mind you, it was the last row of the plane but I didn't care. I say save the money - or treat yourself to a little something extra at Disney. Have fun.
