Sorry Gaston, They are MUCH More Interesting Than You!*6/8* NEW Trip Report Link p154

You never know, you might! If nothing else you might learn that mole, and for that matter a souffle is a heck of a lot easier than you think.

You're right...I might! Every now and then I actually get in the mood to cook. Though it's not often.

I have been wanting to try to make a souffle forever! Specifically, I want to attempt a Grand Marnier souffle. I've bought my little souffle dishes and all. But, I still haven't tried to make it.

Your chicken with the mole sauce looks delicious! And it doesn't sound complicated to make at all. Hmmm.....maybe even I could whip that up. :scratchin

Well, I just spent thirty minutes of my day off, reading your entire report. So glad for chapter links! A girls' DIS trip sounds fun! Can't wait to hear about more of your adventures.

You're right...I might! Every now and then I actually get in the mood to cook. Though it's not often.

I have never attempted a souffle myself but have done Yorkshire pudding and in a weird way there seems to be some similarities (rising, falling lol). At our next seminar she does an egg souffle and it did de-bunk a few things so that was cool.

Too funny, yesterday for whatever weird reason I read cookbooks all day. No clue what got into me other than wanting to make something new and have it be with chicken and stuff I had around the house. I have so many and always seem to default to the same old ones, or look stuff up online or use one of the apps on my phone and really wanted to dig and read real cookbooks for once. While doing so I must have stumbled across at least dozen mole recipes of various sorts and boy, it is all over the board in terms of how it is defined by various chefs, the techniques, all of it. Pretty darn interesting actually!

The mole recipe we got you could definitely do and I will probably try that technique on others in the future even if that's not how the recipie reads.

I forgot about the cancelled welcome home Wednesday. If I recall you still got the swag though, right?

I did - A hat and a couple of pins. Kind of cool that I did not even have to really "do" or "sit " through anything to get them. And I was literally passing by since I walked back from DHS.

That makes way more sense than the lamb and explains why I was buying wine in Argentina too!

I think I was being careful and passed on the sweet potatoes and well, there is very little in desserts I can't have. :lmao:

I like both the beef skewer and the lamb chop. Both are very good. :thumbsup2

:thumbsup2 spoiler alert! I have that same picture and I think Mary Ellen will be telling the tale in her next update and has additional pictures I hope.

:rotfl2:

That pix in Morocco looks a lot like my"artwork" on the door at work !!!:rotfl2::rotfl2::rotfl2:

:scared1::scared1::scared1: :rotfl2: NICE!!!

Mnnn! She raved about this one, I remember that!

PA176623.jpg

This was SO good!

The seminar looks like so much fun! And the finished product looks delicious.

Sure looks like you ladies were having a lot of fun that afternoon!! ;) I have never heard about that Moroccan hilariousness, but I'll have to track it down on our next trip.

The seminar was a blast and the Moroccan architecture definitely held our attention for awhile! :rotfl2:

Another lovely addition by you, Cynthia. We went into that "Italian Wine Ditch" and it was quite nice...very peaceful. But boy they sure jumped on you when you walk in the door. Gee, can we take a little look first? I think Nicki just wanted to see if she could just buy some of the olives or something...none of us were in a wine mood (well, I don't drink it at all...doesn't agree with me).

Lovely photos of the BOG lady with the cranberries...I hope she didn't fall.

I guess there is something as TOO much customer service. :rotfl2:

I'm glad the bog lady stayed on here feet.

Oh my... I'm not sure where to begin..

It looks as if you ladies had a VERY good time at Food & Wine...:thumbsup2

At some point I lost track of how many drinks/wine you guys consumed but it sounds like you all were good team players...

I love your food seminar... I had a meal at La Hacienda... it was quite good... I would have enjoyed seeing his demo... & I've always seen tomatillos and wondered what to do with them... The mole sounds like it would have been excellent...:thumbsup2

(Have I said recently how I need a combo Halloween / F&W trip? lol .... :rotfl2: I don't think I've actually said it this week..

I'm glad to see your photos of Tutto Gusto... I've heard that in addition to the wines they do have Italian cheeses/charcuterie... some pastas and paninis... I thought it would make a nice escape for a little meal and some nice wine...

Now Mary Ellen, really? You couldn't help it could you? You had to post that photo in Morocco... now enabling other highly susceptible to suggestion Disers to now go check that out (myself obviously included... & then Cynthia just had to go and do it too...;) to just reinforce the suggestion... I think we now have another unofficial Dis meet and greet just like the chairs at the Boardwalk... only their at least PG rated...:rotfl: Only this one doesn't have a name... or does it...?

or does it?..........:rotfl2: Well, if you would like to think up a name go right ahead. The only names I can think of right now would not be DIS friendly. :rotfl2:

The wine bar was super fun. I lost track of my drinks too! And you should definitely put a F&W trip on your agenda!

Cynthia, I had no idea "mole" just meant "sauce"... I always thought it was that really dark sauce, with I think chocolate in it. I'd enjoy it much more with tomatillos! You learn something new...

That steak & sweet potatoes dish looks delish. I love sweet potatoes, but DH hates them, so we never have them here. Sad!

Sent from my iPhone using DISBoards

I love sweet potatoes too. They are so yummy!!!!!!!!! Thank goodness my DH likes them!:)

im hoping you guys tried some of the Caribbean food?

total amount doesnt seem bad at all, we ended up with 7 different drinks during the day, spread out not bad.

with the smaller glasses it was very nice to try different ones.

I am sorry to say that I did not try any Caribbean food. You know you can only try so much! :rotfl2: There's always next year!

It does sound like we drank a lot, but we actually didn't because those glasses were so small and we definitely did spread it out.

Oh yeah!

I just saw the update and I think the pictures look great. Tutto Gusto -- good to know. I'd hate to be walking around asking where the wine ditch was. :rotfl2:
.

:rotfl2: Most people don't even know what the regular Ditch is, so that could be a problem! :rotfl:

Great updates ladies! :thumbsup2.

Thanks! Hopefully I get a new one together soon!

No, I'm more of an "eater". :lmao: And I've watched a cooking show or two. I told Judy your description and she guessed it too....but she does cook..

Yeah Judy! It doesn't surprise me that she got it right away! :goodvibes

I was kinda pleased with that joke myself. :).

As you should be!

Love it, and that's what I'm going to call it too....I already used it in my reply to Cythia.

:thumbsup2

You put that there for my benefit, didn't you? :rotfl2:

She did!

That's the same John Lasseter who runs Pixar and Disney animation, right?

I believe so.

I actually like the Pipeline Porter--it's brewed with Kona coffee.

Interesting. I'm not a fan of dark beers. I really wished I liked them because that sounds interesting.

Ooops!

Ooh, that looks like a winner.:thumbsup2

That does look a winner. Where was I when she was trying that out? I totally missed it.

Cynthia - you are absolutely not a dork for planning what you wanted to try at F&W. I say that because I also planned! I printed off all the menus, highlighted things...I did not take them with me to the park.

There were a couple things I missed too - that strudel, that steak and sweet potatoes. I love sweet potatoes too!

Sure wish I could pop back down next October for a weekend of F&W!

Were they serving/selling the Lasseter wine anywhere other than the seminar? I didn't notice, but wasn't particularly looking. Wonder if it's any good?

I'm glad she planned out what she wanted to do because I'm not organized enough to do that.

I think I need more than a weekend of F&W. I really can't wait until next year.

I didn't notice the Lassiter wine anywhere else either.

The new updates just confirm for me 2 things....

1. I missed so much! I believe f&w was going on for about a week of my trip. Wanna know how many things I had from a kiosk? Well, I had two glasses of hard cider (angry orchard to be specific and yes... it is now a new favorite of mine..especially with some fireball whiskey added to it. YUM), one order of escargot and one other drink... some fruity slushy boozy drink.

2. I MUST go back!!! Good thing another fall trip plan is in the works.. and then next year I am going to make dh go with me just for F&W since it will be our 25th anniversary. Between those two trips, I bet I catch up on all that I missed this year.

Yum - yeah - you did miss a lot. fireball whiskey and hard cider sounds like an interesting combo, so it wasn't a total posse, right?

I can't wait to go back next October. It really was so much fun!

Does the sombrero have some kind of Cava significance?

No. It must have had some significance, but whatever it was it escapes me now.

Open freezer, take something out, put in microwave, push some buttons, enjoy!

That sort of sums up my dinner tonight. Not exaggerating.

Hey mom, can I have one of your Capri Suns??? :rotfl2::rotfl::lmao:

It could happen! :rolleyes1

Well, if you try to hide it that makes you an alcoholic. :rotfl2:

Good point.

You felt the need to take 4 pictures of that??? :rolleyes1

Just in case the first one didn't turn out. It never hurts to have a spare....or two.

Hey, you're the one that took 4 pictures of it.

True!

Whether that is due to alcohol consumption or moving from dark to light is open to interpretation. :rotfl:

It was definitely the dark to light. Hey - I was there - I know it.

I'm seeing a lot of uncertainty here. How many drinks was that again??? :rolleyes1 :lmao:

Ummmmmm..... A lot? :rolleyes1

Well, you both started taking pictures of different things, finally! :lmao:

It's about time, right?

But she only posted one picture of it... how many did you take??? :confused3:rotfl:

Ummmmmm....... a lot? That's my guess and I'm sticking to it.

By "retains that," you mean "doesn't get overrun by loud, sloppy drunks," right?

It did get a little loud and sloppy in there over the weekend. Definitely a local party vibe.

And I think a refuge from 5 teenage boys will be a mandatory thing. :rotfl2::lmao:

For real!

Of all the food pictures the 2 of you have posted this one is the most cruel. I want one!

Don't you hate seeing food pictures when you are hungry.

Well, that certainly is a win. I've never made it to F&W, but it seems like I'm always reading TR's about it where people are standing next to trash cans eating.

Gotta stand somewhere. Those stand up tables were very helpful.

So, what you're saying is that it was a failed effort at drinking around the world...

Pretty much sums it up. :rotfl:

Absolutely. Calories and drinks don't count! :thumbsup2:rotfl:

I wish. You have no idea how much I wish!

thats why i dont listen to people who are suppose to be experts...we had the ropa veja stuff there, and it was one of the best things i had of all. kids loved it as well. it was a sort of spicy beef shredded with cilantro rice, very good.

Yum - that sounds so good!!!!! I hear ya on the experts!

i also dont listen to people who vote on the award show best moves etc...i have never even heard of 80% of the ones up for awards. stupid experts. :rotfl2:

:rotfl2: I never really know how the "experts" figure that stuff out. It's beyond me,

another update!

It's so fun to read "the same trip report" from two different perspectives. :thumbsup2

I'm glad you are enjoying that. I guess it sort of reinforces what we did. I know sometimes I forget what people wrote about and I have to go back and reread it.

:Guess we will have to check out the Italian "Ditch" on our next trip - your choises look lovely. ;)

You should definitely check out the Italian ditch!

Love your addition, Cynthia!

I would really like to do one of the cooking seminars at F&W if I ever go back one day without a child in tow. Although, I know I probably wouldn't use my new-found cooking knowledge at home.

I haven't used my new found cooking knowledge either :rotfl:, but it was still fun to pretend I might.

Looks like y'all were really having so much fun this day!

We really did have a blast!

I would love to have one of those apple strudels right now. That was one of the things we tried and enjoyed.

That apple strudel really does look amazing!

That is very sad I am sorry to hear that!

It's hard to know you won't be going back for awhile, but I always find, even with advance planning, that the time passes pretty quickly!

and, voila!

6F739F76-D2EB-4314-B15C-5094A04B32AB-1198-000001BCA79BA503.jpg

.

That looks really good - much better than the 1:30 AM version! :rotfl: You know I'm kidding!

And your backsplash is so pretty!

thats what i had there, it looked like and tasted like meat chili, then a few hours later i realized what i had done, and i didnt hate myself.:thumbsup2

:rotfl: I would have liked to try that. I love eating non-meat stuff that tastes like meat!

your right about the money adding up, it was nice to save all of my snack credits from the week and spend them all here.::yes::

The money definitely does add up. Disney definitely knows how to make their profit!

Way to go Cynthia. :thumbsup2:thumbsup2:

:thumbsup2

I had found the Kona Brewing Co. restaurant when I was researching the area and it was definitely on the list! Sounds like they have good pizzas there.

I love the catchphrase "Liquid Aloha"! :rotfl2: I think the pint glass will be coming home with me!

Liquid Aloha - now that sounds like a winner. Glad you are doing all your pre trip research!

That mole looks good. Good to know its easy...I may have to try it soon! I love your kitchen and I covet your stove in a very big way. :) I'm living in a rental whose kitchen hasn't been updated since 1960....I so want a nice kitchen some of these days.

Jill in CO

I can totally relate to that. I had a 1980's kitchen until about two years ago and It was so depressing! I look back and can't believe I waited so long to upgrade it.

:rotfl2::lmao::rotfl:

I'm glad it didn't suck. It looks good, I'm glad it worked out for you!

It looks exactly like the sauce we had at the seminar, so I'm certain it must have tasted really good.

Nice job Cynthia! It looks great. You're a dinnertime heroine, and now Jeff knows why you needed that Disney trip.

I'm impressed that you have your own pot-cam!

Just wait until our next seminar Glenn. Maybe she make that too and REALLY impress us all! I hope the pot-cam doesn't go on the fritz before that. :rotfl:

Yummy looking mole! Sounds like you had a nice dinner, well done, Cynthia! :thumbsup2

Doesn't it look super relish? Plate licking good. :thumbsup2

:rotfl2: Ok, I don't feel so bad for you now. ;)

Yeah - don't feel too bad for her. she's got some good trips coming up in the future.

That is awesome! Glad you found the ingredients. Now you have me curious... been craving mexican...and tired of the same ole dishes. I might have to consider trying this. Of course... I don't have the same kind of kitchen you do! :worship: that is an amazing stove. I imagine anything you cook on it turns out well.

Her mole sauce look just like what they served in the seminar. And her pot came made it look so easy that I might have to try it!

Just wait until our next seminar Glenn. Maybe she make that too and REALLY impress us all! I hope the pot-cam doesn't go on the fritz before that. :rotfl:

HAH! We will see about that.

Maybe....

Maybe not!

I will say though after posting the French Onion soup I had at Les Chef's here, and then again at Royal Palace on my PTR I was craving it so did have to make it last night. These trip reports are killing me in the kitchen. :rotfl:

Or at least helping me come up with ideas since I never know what to make anyway.

Your mole looks great! And I have to ditto everyone else with my kitchen envy!

Sent from my iPhone using DISBoards

I agree that the backsplash tiles are very cool. I like that. Very southwestern vibe.

Wow you ladies did a lot in one day!

I love the new looks for Daisy & Minnie in circus town. so cute (even if they do need to fix the lighting there!)

It was definitely a fun filled day! Loved it!

I dragged Joe onto Barnstormer this summer, but he was too tall at 6'4" he just couldn't squeeze into the seat with me. oops! so I rode alone!

That ride is definitely NOT for tall people. I can only imagine what would happen if someone got stuck in there. Sheesh! :rotfl:

ME I love your creative filters and photo effects - what program do you use?

Photobucket. I just started using the creative edits. They are pretty fun to play with.

I just love your meets and your F&W photos. Cynthia, I totally get creating a spreadsheet to compare and make the most of your time there. That's how I would do it too- otherwise i could see feeling a bit overwhelmed with so many choices.

Haha - I'll probably never make a spreadsheet for that, but next year I am going to get my passport first thing and I am going to carry a pen around with me so I can check off exactly what I had to eat!

The wines look yummmmy. MMM I love wine.

Me too!

Your (ahem) photo of the Moroccan building was ummmm interesting. Perhaps that IS what inspires the belly dancer:rotfl2:

Perhaps! :rotfl:

I feel a little full just looking at all the foods you were able to sample. Wow.

And everything was so good and we only scratched the surface. I look in my passport and there are so many things I didn't get a chance to try. Boo!

Cynthia your mole sauce looks great. good for you for giving it a whirl on a spur of the moment plan. Sometimes things turn out best that way!

I want to try it. Wait - I want Denny to try making it. First I need to find the recipe. Not sure what I did with it.

Wow, girlie!! I'm seriously impressed!! I live in Texas and have never attempted that sauce, had I known it was so easy I would have! And seriously impressed you had tomatillos in the store this time of the year! :thumbsup2
Major thumbs up on your stove! It's Beautiful. ::yes::

Doesn't that sauce look divine! I am impressed at her ambition, too!

Wow! Y'all are kickin butt and taking names with your updates!! I have some serious reading to do!! :guilty:

Hoping for another update tonight. Fingers crossed!

This is my fear :scared: We aren't ready to pull the trigger at 11 months out and I'm worried we may miss out since we are talking New Year's Eve! I'm hoping that since we won't be picky about view, we will be OK (fingers crossed!)

That's got to be a tough time to plan for. I don't envy either one of you!

That F&W seminar looks really fun, sounds like something I would enjoy. Loved Cynthia's great detail about the whole thing. Fun!
What a great afternoon you gals had!

We had so much fun! It really was a great afternoon and I knew Cynthia would remember all the cooking details. :thumbsup2

I love love love those painting carts in France. <3
I didn't even know there was a wine bar in italy... I'll have to tell my mom! Hahaha sounds like something she might enjoy!

Is France just so great for wonderful little details. Love that country and the wine bar was totally amazing! Can't wait to go back!

Mary Ellen, I love your Christmas shots! Even though you didn't get the bokeh effect, they're still really nice! Looks like the problem was that you focused on the lights. You have to focus either on something 10 feet in front of the lights, or just manually turn the thing way out of focus. But still, love those shots!

Well, now I understand what I was missing. I needed to put something in front of the tree. Oh well. live and learn. I know you said that, but sometimes when you go to do something, its hard to operationalize all the steps.

Cynthia, good for you for making that sauce! Glad you enjoyed it. I'm half thinking of looking up a recipe like that myself!

It was really good! Definitely a multipurpose sauce!

All your Epcot pictures just confirm why World Showcase is my favorite!! SO much to see!

There are always so many awesome details. I really do love the world showcase and right about now I would do anything to be there. But the pictures will just have to do!

Cynthia - great job on making the mole sauce! And just sort of winging it? Amazing! That tile backsplash by your stove is beautiful! Did you or someone you know paint it? I'd love a fancy stove, but then I might be expected to do more with it than I currently do! That, paired with a family of picky eaters, seems rather a waste. But I am determined to expose them to more food choices! I know what you mean when you say planning meals is the bane of your existence. I'm near ready to give up! Too bad society still expects parents to feed their children...

That mole sauce was wonderful, so I am sure that Cynthia's was just as good and the best part - she probably had leftovers! :rotfl:

I thought for certain I replied but can't find it. Oh we'll. just letting you know I'm being a lurker since you ladies have so many people to reply to. I'm totally enjoying all these great updates.

I do the same thing all the time and I have been MIA, so now I have a ton of TRs to catch up on, yours included!

I'm hoping to post an update tonight! :thumbsup2

Count me in as one who never heard about the questionable architecture. Very questionable indeed. :scratchin

Really? I seriously thought everyone knew about that. Well, at least its nice to know that I am educating my fellow DISers!

The seminars at F&W sounds really interesting, but being a pretty mediocre cook, I never imagined booking one for myself. However, hearing both your experiences with the mole sauce one, it sounds like it'd be entertaining even for people who don't like to be in the kitchen. Pretty interesting read. :goodvibes

Exactly, because I do not like to be in the kitchen. But it was still fun and I'm thinking about booking one or two for me a Denny next year. There were a lot of couples there. Ah - who am I kidding - but I will book a beverage seminar! :rotfl:

:rotfl2: I will I admit I showed you but Someone else pointed it out in Maybe Glenn's TR so I knew where to look. :rotfl2:

See - it all reads always lead back to Glenn or Mark! :scratchin :rotfl2:

I mean - talk about potentially AWKWARD! :rotfl:

I know I know and coming right up.

Yeah!

No Name that I know of.

But we COULD probably think of one! Just sayin!

Yes on the Chocolate Creme Brule

IMG_0079.jpg
.

That really does look good and really huge too! Like a full size dessert!

Yet another angle in Morocco

IMG_0080.jpg
.

Yeah - this DOES need a name. A DIS friendly name.

Tutto

A bellini for me

.

Did you use a flash in here? Your pictures are nice and light. Mine are like a dungeon.

The Apple Stuedel

This does look really good. How did I completely miss this?

From Argentina- The Grilled Beef Skewer with Chimichurri Sauce and Boniato Puree
IMG_0098.jpg

.

Another winning entree!

but you must not forget about this....

IMG_0100.jpg

We got a good laugh and maybe even a picture near here.

.

Oh yeah - I got a couple pictures here, but I was laughing so hard they all came out blurry! ......or maybe that was the wine!

Oooh...Mark was walking by while I was reading your update and started drooling over your apple strudel. :lmao::lmao:

Funny - since its lunch time I just did the same thing! :lmao:

ME, I finally started my Tip Report! Here is the link if you are interested!

Fast Passes, We Don't Need No Stinkin' Fast Passes
(url)http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=3050319

Thanks for letting me know. I don't think I subbed yet, so let me do that right now!

Thanks for sharing your wonderful trip report! I especially enjoy the photos you take of unusual things, like the ice cream carved into the pumpkins! I look forward to reading about the rest of your trip, and I hope you're havingn a great day!

:welcome: Jenniferreich! Thanks so much for joining in! Sorry it took awhile to welcome you, but knowing Cynthia she already did.

Hoping to post an update tonight, so stay tuned for that!

I'm glad you explained this because earlier I thought "silly MEK, that's not a mole sauce!" because every mole I've ever had was made with peppers and cocoa so it's a dark brown. Looks good. Nice job replicating it!

:rotfl: Silly MEK is right. I shouldn't be writing about any food seminars, that's for sure. I don't even remember what we ate at the next one, except it involved Kerry Gold cheese and butter. But beyond that - forget about it!

There is a big cranberry harvest festival a few hours from us in Wisconsin that we always talk about wanting to go to. I would love to see that for real but I would settle I guess for a visit to F&W instead :rolleyes1

I would SO settle for a trip to F&W. That's for sure!

PA176597.jpg

I want a drink sitting here too!

It's 20 degrees here today, so that picture and drink are looking mighty darn good!

Gotta confess, it took me a couple looks to get that one!

:rotfl2: Well, obviously your mind is NOT in the gutter. Or at least its not as much in the gutter as the rest of us! :rotfl:

Hey girl! I just poured myself a glass of wine and am going to catch up on your TR...start to finish...can't think of a better way to spend my Saturday night!

:welcome: Jacquie! So good to see you back on the DIS! We all missed you!
I was also very excited to see that you were working on your Tr again and that you have a new trip planned!

That pix in Morocco looks a lot like my"artwork" on the door at work !!!:rotfl2::rotfl2:

Excuse me? Did hear the correctly? That must be some place to work. :rotfl2: I wish I could tell you about the artwork in the board room where I work, but I don't thing there is a single way I could explain it without getting myself in trouble. :rotfl:

I've got the Apple Struedel recipe if you need it! It's in one of my F&W cookbooks.

Jill in CO

There you go Cynthia - something else you can make! It does look pretty amazing, but since I'm the worlds worse cook I should even pretend I want to make it.

Yes we got a lot of laughs out of it !!!!:rotfl2::rotfl2::rotfl2:

"It" Hey - that could be a new DIS friendly name. :rotfl:

You're right...I might! Every now and then I actually get in the mood to cook. Though it's not often.

I have been wanting to try to make a souffle forever! Specifically, I want to attempt a Grand Marnier souffle. I've bought my little souffle dishes and all. But, I still haven't tried to make it.

That sounds like me - but those moods are few and far between. :rotfl: Grand marnier souffle really sounds good, if you ask me. YUM!

Your chicken with the mole sauce looks delicious! And it doesn't sound complicated to make at all. Hmmm.....maybe even I could whip that up. :scratchin

That's what I thought, but I am afraid when I go to execute it things might take a turn for the worst.

I need to look around for the recipe again. I can't find mine!

Boo!

Well, I just spent thirty minutes of my day off, reading your entire report. So glad for chapter links! A girls' DIS trip sounds fun! Can't wait to hear about more of your adventures.

:welcome: Michelle! Thanks for joining in! I am so glad the chapter links helped. That's why I put them there!

Girls trips are a blast. This is my third and it was probably the best one yet.

Hoping to do an update tonight, but not sure.

I did - A hat and a couple of pins. Kind of cool that I did not even have to really "do" or "sit " through anything to get them. And I was literally passing by since I walked back from DHS.

I have always wanted to go to one of those DVC gatherings. Maybe next time. Freebies are good!

I think I was being careful and passed on the sweet potatoes and well, there is very little in desserts I can't have. :lmao:

I like both the beef skewer and the lamb chop. Both are very good. :thumbsup2

I don't remember you trying the lamb chop, but why would that be surprising that I forgot that. :rotfl: Unless, of course, you ate the lamb chop when we weren't with you. That's a possibility.

OMG - I can just here you saying that. :rotfl2:

This TR is killing you and we just got started with the food. It's going to get worse, you know! :rotfl:

Yum to FOS - pictures??????

Nevermind...I'd probably get in trouble!

Somethings are better left unsaid! :rotfl:

Doggie See Doggie Do......

Well, I finally made it make to the DIS board to do an update. It was a crazy, busy week because of the video for Nick's soccer banquet. I also made shadow boxes for the seniors and that required multiple trips to the craft store since I needed 10 shadow boxes and the most I could get at any given time was 5.

Anyway - the work is done and they did give me a Disney gift card as a thank you! I can't think of a better thank you gift.

If either of us missed any replies over the last week, please give me a shout - out. I did replies pretty quickly.

So in my last update we went to the seminar to learn how to make mole with tomatillos, we circled the world showcase sampling all sorts of yummy things, and we were now heading back to the Festival Center to hit the Chase lounge and maybe get wrist bands.

Oh - and just as an FYI - you can't buy a gift card with a gift card. I wanted to get a wrist band, but I was not allowed to pay for it with a gift care. Boo!

Heading to TT

Is that guy drinking booze or a soda?

IMG_9572.jpg

I noticed the hummingbird feeders, which looked pretty cool.

IMG_9575.jpg

Then we all noticed this Dog sign

IMG_9577.jpg

More feeders

IMG_9579.jpg

IMG_9580.jpg

Apparently, I lost interest in the dog sign quickly, but Cynthia and Pat didn't. See what I mean....... (the followed the dog path)

IMG_9581.jpg

And then I looked again and saw this.........

IMG_9582.jpg

Kind off leaves you speechless!

Once I recovered from laughing so hard I could barely stand up (as evidenced by the blurry pictures), I focused on the scenery again.

IMG_9583.jpg

OK - Moving On to the festival center......

Passing by the new TT entrance

IMG_9584.jpg

Passing Mission Space

IMG_9587.jpg

And heading to the Festival Center

IMG_9588.jpg

I guess I thought this fountain outside the festival center was cool

IMG_9590.jpg

And I found these small windows looking into the festival center to be unique

IMG_9592.jpg

It's not like you could really see that much, but they were cool all the same.

When we walked past the seminar area we noticed that that cute little intern from the seminar was cleaning the thermador stove.

IMG_9593.jpg

Of course, we had to try out the merchandise

IMG_9595.jpg

One picture really is never enough when Pat is involved

IMG_9596.jpg

This is just what everyone needs while lounging in the sun in the backyard or at the beach.

IMG_9597.jpg

I really liked this T-shirt. In fact, I liked it so much that I went back later in the trip and got it for Denny. Never mind that the date is 2012. It will be vintage by next F&W

IMG_9598.jpg

Cute

IMG_9599.jpg

…….but it may have put me over my weight limit for luggage. Yup - I was THAT close.

Still cleaning

IMG_9600.jpg

Our next stop was the Chase Lounge for Visa Holders

IMG_9601.jpg

They even had cell phone chargers in here, but every time I tried to use it the iPhone charger was in use.

IMG_9606.jpg

See this cute couple. They had name tags from Flourtown, PA. I lived there in high school. I had to take their picture. Had to!

IMG_9605.jpg

It's a small world after all!

Continued in Next Post........

I love the cute souvenirs for F&W, I really want one of those wine glasses on a stick!

Is the Visa Lounge there all the time or just during F & W?

After I drank about 5 tiny dixie cups full of lemonade it was time to go here.

IMG_9602.jpg

Aren't these the toilets that you have to flush by hand? I sort of forget now.

IMG_9603.jpg

On the way out we stopped to drool over the giradelli chocolate creations.

IMG_9611.jpg

IMG_9612.jpg

They were all pretty darn amazing!

Once outside it was obvious that evening was fast approaching.

IMG_9616.jpg

IMG_9617.jpg

All the outdoor lights looked so cool in the dusk

IMG_9619.jpg

It was right about here that we experienced some major Disney mojo. A young teenage girl and her family asked if we would like their Soarin FP's. They were due for 7:30, which happened to be the exact time! Can you say SCORE!!!!!!!!!

At first I think we were all just so stunned that we didn't know how to respond. But we quickly recovered and said "YES! YES! and THANK YOU!!!!!!!!"

Woo hoo! Off to Soarin we went.

I can't tell you how many FPs I have given away over the years, but this is seriously one of the few, if not only times, that I have had a FP offered to me. I was beyond excited.

The fountains look so pretty this time of night

Getting ready to go inside

IMG_9625.jpg

Peep hole to the skies

IMG_9626.jpg

Soarin was awesome. It was especially awesome because we got free FPs!

Once outside, it was dark. And as soon as I hit dark I got hit by the tired feeling. It's weird - it's like it just slapped me in the face. I knew I didn't have much left.

I also realized that despite our lunch and snacking, I was HUNGRY!

We headed back to France

I took a few lousy shots of the fountains. I have no idea why they are so terrible, except perhaps I didn't slow down enough.

IMG_9640.jpg

Back in France I decided to try the Coq Au Vin.

OMG - so good! I could have eaten two more!

At this juncture in our journey I realized I was done. I was suddenly very tired, probably the post alcohol let down, and my feet were KILLING me! I know I haven't said much about my feet and I promise not to complain about them, other than to say that I have bad plantar fascitis. I had a hard time finding supportive sandals prior to leaving on the trip. I did find a pair that worked well, but at this point of the night my feet just sort of ached. They were done.

Cynthia, on the other hand, was making arrangements to meet up with Jenny (rentayenta) and her family. I didn't really know Jenny prior to this trip and, as much as I love meeting people, I figured this was a good time to head on home. It was an EMH night, but despite that I figured there might be a post Illuminations rush to the buses.

Once I hit the front of the park I did realize that I probably had time to ride Spaceship Earth. So I did. And I only took one picture with my cell phone. Apparently I'm not even in it. LOL

IMG_4296.jpg

Quite honestly, the dark and quiet were lulling me to sleep and I was fearful that a CM might have to wake me up at the end of the ride. :rotfl2:

The bus ride home was uneventful, but my timing was off just a bit. Once I got up to the 4th floor of the villas I noticed that I could see the Electric light parade out on Bay Lake. I was hoping I could quick drop my bags, change my sandals, and run out to the beach to catch the end of it.

But, alas, I was too late.

I did head over to roaring forks and purchase something to eat because I was still a little hungry. I have no idea what it was.

I feel asleep promptly, but at 12pm I woke up and noticed that Cynthia wasn't back yet. I remember thinking, "should I be concerned and text her." Then I remembered that it was Disney and she was just fine.

I was a bit relieved, however, when I heard her come in about 15 or 20 minutes later.

Next Up - Breakfast with Tracy and our group DIS meet!

Love the Dog Path Pix !!!Oh Pat we have a MISSION for October:rotfl2:Mary Ellen I work in a GROUP Home and one of them drew for me Cuz I needed a MAN!!!:rotfl2::rotfl2::rotfl2: Such thooughtful souls :rotfl2::rotfl2:

Oh my! The doggie path pictures are hilarious. Hey, wait a minute, I thought little girls squatted, not raised their legs. :lmao:

Yay for getting offered the Fastpasses. Like you, I've given many Fastpasses away but very rarely get them given to me.
