Hello and Good night everyone . Long day at work with a not so nice woman . I hope the assignment is better for Wed. I just wanted to come in to Check and see what was going on but you guys post too much stuff during the day Too much for me to read at once :surfweb: . You guys are like 5 pages ahead of this morning .

I have to say to everyone with the green rug it had to be like those houses in the 70's with the green or gold kitchens . The style had to be big then . I just wish it would have missed this house.

I have to ask Bubba's mom do you do SFGADV in NJ ? Just wondering if you were on anyone of the message boards for that park. I am thinking I have seen the name somewhere else just not sure where ? It could also be that I was here a lot in the past planning my trip to WDW last summer and am just a little crazy :rotfl:

Ok past 10 and I have to go to bed the phone starts ringing here at 5:30 AM for work assignments .:scared:

Hey, Tracie, I must say I am shocked, SHOCKED, I tell you, to see a picture of a mostly nekkid child in your pics. What kind of parent would let their 2 year old run around in only a diaper?
I certainly never have. Ever. At least, I don't think there is any photographic evidence to prove that I have. :rolleyes1 :rotfl:

a kewl one :cool2:

oh the pix i could share :rolleyes1

Swim practice.....

nevermind then

my father was a gunner on a ship in ww2. he does NOT talk about it .
my pop was an airplane mechanic. he had to repair planes that were shot down or destroy them.

he doesn't talk a lot about the theaters he was in.
a lot of killing happened where he was. war is really scarey

okay. her royal crabiness is going to bed.
got next weeks tv guide. '

let me know what the doc says tomorrow after the scan.
want me to come hold your hand when you take the tests?

i'm a proud daughter:)

i sent for certified copied of both DH & my dad's military discharge (DD-214); you need them to apply for various benefits (cruise discounts lol) & including surviving spouse in my mom's case.

got my dad's today, so shocked to see that earned stars, ribbons, medals & citations a mile long:thumbsup2 . Evidently, he was a turret gunner aboard the USS Raymond during WWII, knew he served aboard a battleship & that was it refused to discuss it other than to say war wasn't like you see in the movies

I'm requesting replacement issues:cool1:

Wow Janet!! You sure ARE proud, aren'tcha??? You certainly should be and I know that I (and my family) are grateful for his service and sacrifies..... Where are the awards/merits, etc. he earned? He doesn't 'display' them? :confused3

Here's my proud daughter moment. I put together a slideshow for his memorial, but I also did one for myself with my favorite memories of my dad. With apologies to Lori, here's my personal tribute (for myself) to my dad: http://s239.photobucket.com/albums/ff248/MooMonsters/Videos/?action=view&current=Dad.flv

okay....you had me too (not just Lori)....

i will say this.... your Dad was HOT when he was younger....no wonder Ma scooped him up! :thumbsup2

the concrete we have used in the last 100 years has more water in it.
cheaper for building more and bigger profits.
the concrete of roman times still stands.
partial amount of the Colosseum still stands.
gladiator areas have seats and walls still standing.

not all concrete decays.
and in the roman and greek era dynasty, many buildings still are in tact with very little updo by modern man.

brick roads do not deteriorate at the pace the show stated.
streets where i grew up in a german town still have the same bricks with no upgrading.

there are houses in southern illinois that have been abandoned over 100 years ago. still partially up.
my grandparents house of wood and stone still has 3 outer walls standing.
if plaster was used like in the roman and greek era, walls can last.

our driveway is concrete. it was poured 1979.
it has cracks but no overgrowth.
if i did nothing to the cracked areas and not weed them, it would take longer than 10 years as depicted in the show last night, to deteriorate.

take into account the weather/climate of an area when you factor in time to crumble period.

for new york, i could guess the closer to the ocean would help the demise of decline. i would give it a lot more time than the 10,20 50 years used in the show.

i would think that so many of the buildings would not burn rapidly as shown last night due to the modern building ordinances for fire protection we have on the books.

i'll end here, i have more thoughts.

I honestly don't know if I'm scared or impressed that you know that much about concrete. :confused3

i'm tearing up here after watching the video of dad and i don't even know the people.the song was the clincher for me.

i think it is wonderful to have a family that is close.
you can feel the love in the pictures.

I totally agree..... Tricia, can you adopt me so I can be part of YOUR family?? :confused3

(mine can suck!)

It does suck that you are having problems with your delivery, but it isn't your tax dollars paying for it. The Post Office is supported by postage sales alone. Remember, my day job is in the Maintenance Dept at the Reading PA Post Office. We're technically part of the Federal Government, but self sufficient. Since 1970 anyway.
(just thought I'd let ya know ;) )

I was sure the government gave the post office money to operate too :confused3 Since the post office is closed for almost all FEDERAL holidays, you can see where I was making the blonde connection

Hola again!

3 more days left in the week! :woohoo:

And tomorrow i get my new teeth!!! Crowns that is.....

Hopefully this will be the FINAL time!!!

One of my best memories from Dad's memorial was something a friend said (Donald, who shows up in some of the pictures... poker night at my parents house was always his favorite). He walked up to me and said, "Did anyone call him anything but 'Dad'? I don't ever remember calling him 'Mr.' or anything else other than 'Dad'." That was the way it was. My parents were always Mom and Dad to all my friends. Priceless.

Anyway, don't cry. If you are tearing up, then Lori will be shedding buckets when she catches up with the thread. I really have tons of happy memories of my dad. I wasn't ready to see him go... and he was gone so quickly... but my only regret is that Daniel won't have any real memory of him. He was such a fantastic Granddad to my boys.

Yep....all my friends called my Mom "Mom" or "Ma"....I always called my MIL "mom" ...even while only 'dating' DH

I hope my son's friends call me Mom....who doesn't want to be the Kool-Aid Mom? :confused3

And, yes, you had me tearing up too... :sad2: Like I mentioned, your Dad was quite the looker in his young days.... In his later years, he looked like a lot of fun.....always some funny remark to be had! It IS a shame your boys didn't get more time with him, but thru you and Carol and the rest of the family, they will "know" him ;) Not an easy thing....I don't you're ever ready to let a parent go..... (altho, I'm wishing Ma would disappear to Puerto Rico again for a month! :headache: ) but be grateful you have those memories :lovestruc

did you see who died?

actor Heath Ledger!

it was on cnn

Yes...saw it at work...so sad.... another young man with the world at his fingertips, and (most likely) drug ruinin' it..... feel sorry for his little 2 yr old girl :sad2:

the ugly
home heating oil and gasoline prices are still up there

not so ugly for us...we're prepaid and SAVING money :teeth: Gas is actually coming down in our area :goodvibes

the horrible
please cross your fingers
have to have a bone scan of the right heel and ankle tomorow
feels like a needle being injected into the heel area, or some kid hit the back of my heel with a shopping cart at Darrell Waltrip speed.....
the itsy bisty good, someone canceled and i got the appt!
last time , it was a 3 week wait....

Okay....take the pain to make sure all is okay...if all is not okay, they will be able to fix it to make it feel better. You know the saying how 'things get worse before they get better'..... you can do it :grouphug:

Here's the thing though. . .it's really not 1.. 2.. 3.. like the infomercial says.

Okay you guys... I don't have a Magic Bullet....spill the Beans ..... :confused3 (er, I mean the "info", not Tracie's kids!)

tricia - bless you:goodvibes those sites are fantastic, i signed him up; would be cool to hear from any of his buds still around; will let you know.

DH is actually registered on some of those military sites...he's found a couple of guys he's been in touch with.... Turns out a dude he was stationed in TX with lives about 20 minutes away from us :rotfl2: We had them over for dinner one night and had a great time!! Turns out, they are Disney freaks and go faithfully

DS played alot today in the BB game, he shot & scored & stole the ball & rebounded:banana:

Way to go!!! Turnin' into a 'one man team' when the coach let's him play :thumbsup2 I think he's proved he deserved more play time :rolleyes1

My dad has this thing about trying to figure out how stuff worked. He probably studied that bank for an hour trying to figure out where the trigger mechanism was and how it was timed to move with the speech.

MIL always told me DH was same way growing up.... He'd take things apart to figure out how they worked......but, couldn't put 'em back together  :lmao:

Also, the pictures of him at Disney World were an inside joke. He HATED Disney World. Could NOT figure out why my mom (and the rest of us) drug him back year after year. I can still hear him, "Stand in line to watch a bunch of robots and give the greedy mouse more money. If I just hand each of you a couple hundred dollars, can I stay home?"

:lmao: Well, if ya think about it, the man had a point

I'm sure he had a small place in his heart that he enjoyed being there with the 'family' ....be happy you drug him along and have those pix/memories ....I don't :sad2:

Need to catch up as I've only read the last page, but poor Mr. Brokeback. They happen in 3s you know. First, Brad Renfro, now Heath Ledger. Who is next? Poor little Mathilda.

I know....waitin' on the 3rd shoe to drop :scared:

Mac, have fun with American Idol. Sending you a PM too about something ....

I feel left out

Only other news I woke up to is that my brother and SIL are having a girl. :hippie: Thought for sure it'd be a boy for some reason!

Yay!!! :goodvibes That is good news!!! Did they prefer a girl?? (I know, expectant parents say they don't care what gender, but secretly they DO have, at least, have a preference :rolleyes1 )

My grandfather was a WWII vet also. He was shot and almost had his toes amputated for frostbite, but he wouldn't let them do it. His toes were UGLY but they were still there! He never really talked about the war either. And I never really brought it up because he suffered from terrible nightmares up until the time he died. :(

I'm guessing the WWII vets suffered from what they have discovered is post traumatic stress syndrome ..... only discovered after the Gulf War :confused3 I have a client who is a Vietnam Vet who has told me some WILD stories....and, some things he just doesn't want to talk about :sad2: Some horrible stuff went on in those wars....don't blame them for not wanting to talk about it :sad2:

....not to top you or anything, but my brown shag is WAY worse than yours! Way worse. Thick shag with light and dark brown mixed together. High pile. Nasty!

need pic pleez :flower3:
