Hope tomorrow is better for you c-mom....(dunno a name to call you? :confused3 )...also hope you get a 'nicer' woman tomorrow.... This thread DOES move fast....I usually ketchup at nite...when the morning shift is going to bed ;) Don't feel obligated to read/comment on everything ya missed.... just jump in wherever.....

DH really doesn't like Six Flags in NJ...we went a couple times years ago...let's just say it's not "his thing" and leave it at that :rolleyes1

I usually don't post on the 'Disney' side of the DIS, but you may have seen me over there  ....anything is possible ;)

And what exactly is it that you do that the 'phone rings with work assignments'? :confused3

Well you can call me Mary :wave2: .

We had the same feelings about that park a few years ago also but WOW has it changed in the past two years. We are there often we have season passes . It also keeps the kids busy when there is nothing to do for a pretty cheap price :thumbsup2 .

I could just be mixing up the names as I was over on the SFGADV site I noticed someone there is just BUBBA . :confused3

My job is a sub-para . I basically am a sub. and cover for people who are out for the day . I only do it part time 3 days a week but it is very annoying as some teachers you work with are not always the nicest people. I have met some really wonderful people and some real jerks. I work with childern that need either educational help , medical help or just special education classes that need the extra hands in the room . It is very rewarding at times especially pay day :lmao: .

Hope everyone has a great day .... Off to the races for me .

I'll look it up. But, I don't think you can hump on Tuesday? Oh, wait it's legal in Jersey. Hump away!

Git yur minds outta the gutter (well, if you want to)! My work week was Sunday - Thursday this week, so Tuesday was my hump day!! :goodvibes

P.S. MF, did you work on your crossword comfortably this morning?

Then today is weekend's eve! I haven't quite got the fit down on the new throne yet, but it sure looks good.

mac - what'd u think of idol? on the fence as to tatoo girl, where'd her irish brogue go when she sang:confused: . We hide things under the cement, in walls, etc. when replacing/repairing, poor man's time capsule.

saw a bit today on one of the am news programs re Mr. L; evidently, he was having trouble sleeping/coping due to becoming very disturbed re the joker role. He was going more for psycopathic serial killer vs Jack N's more comedic bent:sad2:

jodie - i'll tell u nighty night, should be coming off ur shift; very cool re your gramps. i am now humming the humptdy dance song:headache:

penny - i'm starting to think it was very traumatizing for them, read the citation from the battle, the description was scary...evidently, they and another ship or so were the only thing between the phillipine invasion force...held them off:cheer2: .

as for the U vs WDW; think it's that people identify so much with the parks, they want to be associated with a winner? or perhaps the overall branding (WDW=sweet, sentimental & U=thrilling, cutting edge)...sometimes u feel like a nut, sometimes u don't:confused3

tricia - showed my DH, he was on the Forrestal; he's a military/history buff...went into great detail as to the series of events

barb - i miss my waterbed, went out & bought heated mattress pads for that great sensation of hoping in a warm bed. Funny thing about the medals, we didn't even know he had earned any...lord knows where the original set is. I'm requesting a duplicate set. My mom didn't meet him until after he was discharged, although she was never a detail person lol

very cute video of dh & his bro, why is it that every baby pic looks alike (i think it's a grimace after the circumscion:rolleyes1 )

MF - holmes...my oldest DS uses that phrase all the time; his is in connection with the infamous john holmes:rolleyes: ...it's used as sort of "hey cool dude" greeting in our parts

lori - sorry u r not feeling well, hope the bug departs soon; i'm trying to call dentist=have appt today hate the thought of coughing all over him...eeew. Good bucket list:thumbsup2

tracie - kids back to skool?

kFed - when does swim season end?

hi Mary (something about;) ) how many times have u heard that groaner - sorry. So glad your name doesn't begin with a

T ala Tricia & Tracie, one less name to fracture!

:rotfl: :rotfl2:

Okay, I skimmed really fast much earlier, but don't have time to go back and try to catch what I don't remember. We're leaving in a few minutes here to go to DS12's SPEC conference. Okay, looked it up - stands for Student and Parent Educational and Career conference.

The sheet they gave us of what they're discussing tells me that they're going to explain which of the following words describes DS:

Realistic, investigative, artistic, social, enterprising, or conventional.

They're also going to tell me, based on his Multiple Intelligences Inventory if he's more of a :

Naturalist, Existential, Verbal, Musical, Interpersonal, Intrapersonal, Logical, Kinesthetic, or Visual type kid!

(Okay, I admit it, I had to look a few of those up, and still don't know what they mean by existential - my son says "I guess it means that I exist!" :confused3 )

We also get to discuss his "dreams for the future" and his Talents, abilities, interests and volunteer work. Um, he's 12! Anyways, there's a whole bunch more, but you get the idea!

I'm a bit confused on all the military stuff - are most of the people we're talking about your guys' dads or grandpa's? I thought many of you were my age, but I know my dad would be way too young to have been in WWII, but I'm pretty sure grandpa (and both of mine died probably 20 years ago) would have been too old. I'll try to look at the pics and videos later but I'm proud of them for you too! (Did that make sense?)

Mary - that's exactly what I did for a job last year and I HATED it! Even way more than I hate my current job (and that's a lot in case you haven't followed this thread for too long!) Actually I worked as a sub para, and also a clerical sub. I just hated not knowing what I was doing until each day, and as you said, the people you got to work with were frequently not friendly at all, and especially para-ing at the elementary level, I really got the impression that they did NOT want you there.

As far as the clerical side, I consider myself a fairly intelligent person, but felt like they threw you in with no training or info. It would be like, walk into an office and handle everything. If you were lucky, there might be a sheet telling you what to do vaguely. But seemed like you never really knew what you were doing. Occasionally I got week long assignments and I felt like a pro after a week! ;)

DS says to thank you all for the wakeup call this morning! :upsidedow He was actually up and motivated today.

On the flip side, DS15 is no longer talking to us. We've "ruined his life". We told him and told him and told him before finals that if he ended up with lower than a B in any AP class or an A in any other class that he would be grounded until the next test (test, not quiz) in that class that he got those same grades (or better) on. Well, he ended up with a B- in calc. Not because he's a sophomore and not because he's stupid (or in his words "the class is too hard"), but because he's probably studied a total of 15 minutes a week. So now he's grounded until the next test (assuming he does well on it), which probably won't be for 2-3 more weeks.

Meanwhile he has Snow-Ball this Saturday (kind of like Homecoming level, but a winter dance). Since GF had already bought a dress, flowers, etc., we told him he could go to this, and even to the party afterwards until 3am, but nothing else until his next calc test. Well, we've ruined his life. He hates us. He spent awhile yesterday throwing things around the house and screaming at me so I threatened to take his phone. Continued to scream and locked his door and wouldn't come down for dinner. DH got home and went in and appropriated the phone, but unfortunately I can't shut his computer down without shutting this one down. So he hasn't talked to us since.

Are we being the world's most unreasonable parents? :confused3

Okay, sorry I didn't get to catch up with everyone (anyone?). I'll try to catch you all later!

Wow Marci I am so glad someone else knew what a para was some people just give me this :confused3 . I am off today and well I don't work again until Monday :cool1: . I have to say I don't hate the job just this one teacher has just not been nice either time I have been there.

keisha ... :lmao: .. I get it all the time . I actually started using my full name so it would stop but nope still getting it . Years ago there was a rap song with the name mary in it and I got ribbed for that too.

I can't wait for April my trip with my daughter and our friends for her sweet 16 I just wanna sit by the pool at the HRH and enjoy the relaxation .:thumbsup2

Need help with an idea I wanna make her day fun and special I was going to make shirts with her name and Sweet 16 on the front then on the back
Hard Rock Hotel orlando and the date . Anyone else think this is sooo cute or am I just nuts :confused3 I am also going to take eveyone 's advice and at least have a lunch at Mythos . I have to try it .

Morning Everyone!

They delayed school opening an hour today, so I feel like I'm running behind. I'm beginning to think that somebody just likes playing with the automated announcement system. The 5:30am wake up calls STINK, but I have managed to get a workout in the past 2 mornings... which I hadn't done for the past couple of weeks with everything else that's been going on... so maybe it isn't the worst thing ever. Sigh.

Wow, I missed some chatter last night/this morning. I haven't read thru, but I'm head back 4 pagest to ketchup...

i am really begining to think my avatar fits rather well.

no comments!!!!!

(okay, you can poke the bear. but no other threaders can except you homies.)

I'm not saying a word. :rolleyes1

Hello and Good night everyone . Long day at work with a not so nice woman . I hope the assignment is better for Wed. I just wanted to come in to Check and see what was going on but you guys post too much stuff during the day Too much for me to read at once :surfweb: . You guys are like 5 pages ahead of this morning .

Don't worry about catching up or keeping up, just drop in and say Hi when you have the time! :)

okay....you had me too (not just Lori)....

i will say this.... your Dad was HOT when he was younger....no wonder Ma scooped him up! :thumbsup2

It used to make me cry to watch it (okay, sometimes it still does), but now I smile more often than not.

And my mom has great stories about how she hunted my dad down like a dog.

I totally agree..... Tricia, can you adopt me so I can be part of YOUR family?? :confused3

(mine can suck!)

My parents unofficially adopted most of my friends. I remember at the Groom's Dinner the night before our wedding, there was a table with Carol, Deb, Leta (my BFF), and probably half a dozen more people. One of Brad's extended family members (an aunt, maybe) walked up to my mom and pointed to the table and said, "Now, which ones are your children?" My mom looked at the table, smiled, and said, "They all are." You have to get the mental picture that one of the people at the table was my friend Barry, who happens to be a huge black guy... and most of the people were roughly the same age. The lady looked totally confused, but didn't ask again.

Hola again!

3 more days left in the week! :woohoo:

And tomorrow i get my new teeth!!! Crowns that is.....

Hopefully this will be the FINAL time!!!

And let us hope that this is the beginning of the end of the teeth woes among us. :thumbsup2

Yep....all my friends called my Mom "Mom" or "Ma"....I always called my MIL "mom" ...even while only 'dating' DH

I hope my son's friends call me Mom....who doesn't want to be the Kool-Aid Mom? :confused3

And, yes, you had me tearing up too... :sad2: Like I mentioned, your Dad was quite the looker in his young days.... In his later years, he looked like a lot of fun.....always some funny remark to be had! It IS a shame your boys didn't get more time with him, but thru you and Carol and the rest of the family, they will "know" him ;) Not an easy thing....I don't you're ever ready to let a parent go..... (altho, I'm wishing Ma would disappear to Puerto Rico again for a month! :headache: ) but be grateful you have those memories :lovestruc

Joshua still has memories of Granddad. He'll pop out with something every now and then. Daniel knows who he is in pictures, but we'll have to give him all his memories second hand.

My dad was funny if you "got" him. He had a very dry wit and keen intellect. I can still remember coming to him with math homework (I absolutely HATED math) and he'd say, "Alright dumb@ss. Forget everything those idiots told you from the book. Here's how you do it. And here's how you put it down on paper to make them happy."

Carol said to me on the morning of his memorial, "What I wouldn't give to have him call me dumb@ss just one more time..." :)

:lmao: Well, if ya think about it, the man had a point

I'm sure he had a small place in his heart that he enjoyed being there with the 'family' ....be happy you drug him along and have those pix/memories ....I don't :sad2:

He did have a point. I know why he didn't enjoy WDW. He was always too much of a realist to drop into the fantasy of the place... so once the novelty of the animatronics wore off, he was done.

He did enjoy that we enjoyed it... he just couldn't understand it.

I feel left out

Yay!!! :goodvibes That is good news!!! Did they prefer a girl?? (I know, expectant parents say they don't care what gender, but secretly they DO have, at least, have a preference :rolleyes1 )

Me too.

And, how wonderful that their selfish vanity baby is female. Sorry, I'll stop now. :rolleyes1

yea, my family sucks big time also.
i'm looking for a family to adopt, preferably one that likes me....:hippie:

i always wanted boys.
anyone else the same?

Ummmm HELLOOOO? We like you!

Once I actually decided to have kids, I always sorta figured they would be boys. I even went as far as to let Brad pick girl names both times because I was pretty darn sure it wouldn't matter anyway... :rolleyes1

I just want to let everyone know that I have finally made it through reading all 43 pages. I did the multi-quote on everything t respond to and then copied and pasted it into a word document. IT IS 104 PAGES LONG!!!!!!:scared1: This is going to take forever!

I'll be working on it for a while. Please try to keep the chatter down to a low roar so I don't have another 10 pages to catch up on by the time I am finished!

Of to start my responding!!!!!

I'm doing my ketchup. Is that throwing you off your ketchup? :confused3 :rolleyes1

Good morning all.

Do you ever have one of those days where you just have to deal with busy-work crud? Pain in the butt junk? No, not junk in your butt. I would've just said dingleberries then.

I have to call my dentist to reschedule an appointment (OK, my fault on this one, but I got invited to a luncheon I don't want to miss on the day of my appt). Plus, stupid dentist charged me for my tooth bonding at the time of my visit. Problem is, she didn't charge the "agreed upon" or allowable rates for my insurance. She charged me $112.80. Then I get the insurance bill, and I was only supposed to pay $67.60. WTH? Now I have to make her give me a refund. Next time I know not to pay up front, but geez ... what did she think I wasn't going to notice? Perhaps she was hoping that, but if she gives me grief, guess I'll report her to my insurance. Dimwit.

Been dealing with bank issues for the past several days as well -- trying to find someone competent is proving to be unsuccessful so far.

And our 401k plan is changing to an "investments for idiots" type of plan unless we set up a brokerage account, and of course they sent out the wrong information on how we're supposed to open the brokerage account. Then when I found out that they sent out the wrong information, I learned Fidelity isn't even ready for us to open the accounts yet. I am fully capable of investing beyond a blended fund based upon my age and index funds. Good grief. I am not an idiot. Apparently, my company thinks I am, and is making it as difficult as possible for me to invest in other options.

And all this stupid stuff like this; I have 10 more things to do, and I won't bore you with the rest of it, but it is just one of those days where I wonder how anyone stays in business. I may deal with it tomorrow when I don't have to worry about getting to bed. I think I might wind myself up too much to sleep.

Ah, but Mike is here singing my favorite song to me: "It's your last night. Walla, walla, bing, bing. Chitty, chitty bang bang." I'll sing it for you sometime in person.

I'm going to read back and respond when I'm not so ticked off and worked up. So I hope everyone has a less tedious day than I'm having so far! xx

BTW, please know that I do not expect anyone to reply to my above post ... I think I just needed to vent. Sorry, and thanks for letting me do that! :goodvibes

hey lori, waiting for your 110 pages of post ketchup........

didn't you hear fletcher do roll call this morning and get most of us out of bed?

Moanin' Holmes! It's hump day so get to humpin'!

i'll translate for the homies.
he means it is now Wednesday all day today.

mac - what'd u think of idol? on the fence as to tatoo girl, where'd her irish brogue go when she sang:confused: . We hide things under the cement, in walls, etc. when replacing/repairing, poor man's time capsule.

she's a loser.
i remember her from season 5.
lots of the brits lose the accent when they sing.
think of the beatles.
and sometimes mic jagger sounds like a southerner....

saw a bit today on one of the am news programs re Mr. L; evidently, he was having trouble sleeping/coping due to becoming very disturbed re the joker role. He was going more for psycopathic serial killer vs Jack N's more comedic bent:sad2:

i have heard on E that he really would get into his role to do it the best he could. maybe he got too deep into the joker role....autopsy will show the cause

as for the U vs WDW; think it's that people identify so much with the parks, they want to be associated with a winner? or perhaps the overall branding (WDW=sweet, sentimental & U=thrilling, cutting edge)...sometimes u feel like a nut, sometimes u don't:confused3

i do both parks.
i prefer universal totally and completely though.
they have HHN

MF - holmes...my oldest DS uses that phrase all the time; his is in connection with the infamous john holmes:rolleyes: ...it's used as sort of "hey cool dude" greeting in our parts

marcie,
10.gif
to the life of parenting teen boys.

gee, mine starting the pouting way before age 15. looks like you got a few years break in there from the shouting, locking doors type of fun.

teens are ME centered. that's because they are not mature yet and don't think of solutions. life is up and down those years and it is hard years for the kids. they don't want to be angry and be rude, it just happens so quickly at times they explode. once he calms down, he will start to eat again and be pleasant.

he just needs his time to work it out in his head.

he has forgotten the extremes you went through to get his gf to go with you all on the skiing trip. he knows you are doing what is best for him.
he just doesn't have the patience now to deal with the punishment.

hang in there.
you have 2 more to go through that stage.

come on jodie, tell us how you really feel.........

came back to add, get your book back from the dentist before you talk about your refund.

Okay....before I close my eyes, I am going to throw a video atcha's.... Tricia made ya's cry...let's see what this does....

DH's little bro turned 40 last August...he made this for him.....

(remember....the "little" one is brother....DH is the 'older' one ;) ).....

http://youtube.com/watch?v=SB_lOBd13To

Wow, Barb... great video! They must be good friends as well as brothers. I'm thinking of doing the same type thing for Carol's 50th next year.

Feeling better, have my voice most of the time but it still comes and goes.

Glad to hear you are feeling better. I hope the voice comes back to stay!

Okay so you guys are all now going to see how far behind I was!

I want to go to a Nascar race, Tricia style

HA! I don't think I'll ever go to another race in the same style I did last time. Keep your fingers crossed that we are able to go to Daytona. With everything that is happening... :confused3

I humped yesterday. Should I hump again today?

Hmmmm... I did too... but I'm always up for another hump! That sounded kinda Dr Seuss-ish.

I'll look it up. But, I don't think you can hump on Tuesday? Oh, wait it's legal in Jersey. Hump away!

Isn't everything legal in Jersey? :confused3

Hi all!:wave2:
Sorry I can't catch up right now. Been busy- between alot of cub scout stuff goings on, trying to figure out the right health insurance coverage from Don's job, band practice yesterday after school, watching AI last night, etc.

I do need some research help from you homies :)
This is for Chrissy's school project that is due this Friday. I have to help Chrissy make a travel poster-from the southern colonies of the USA. This is from the original 13 colonies. She has the southern colonies region: the states of: Georgia, South Carolina, North Carolina, Virginia, and Maryland.
I need just some info help with maybe Georgia (Tricia, you would probably know this stuff) ;) Is there any tourism in Georgia people go to? Is there something called Stone Mountain(or something like that)?
Doesn't have to be something people went to in the Colonial times, somewhere they go now- tourism.
I know I can just google stuff, but thought if any homies knew of any tourism hot spots in either Georgia,South Carolina, North Carolina, Virginia, or Maryland.
Mac, didn't you go somewhere in Virginia in the Fall?

Wish I can use Florida (Disneyworld and UO), but Florida was never part of the 13 original colonies :guilty:

Any help appreciated from any homies, thanks! :flower3:

I'll come back later, as i still need ot get in the shower and get other stuff done. I just love how her teacher assigned this assignment yesterday, due on Friday

bbl

Well you can call me Mary :wave2: .

Hi Mary!

Git yur minds outta the gutter (well, if you want to)! My work week was Sunday - Thursday this week, so Tuesday was my hump day!! :goodvibes

P.S. MF, did you work on your crossword comfortably this morning?

:lmao:

Then today is weekend's eve! I haven't quite got the fit down on the new throne yet, but it sure looks good.

:rotfl2:

lori - sorry u r not feeling well, hope the bug departs soon; i'm trying to call dentist=have appt today hate the thought of coughing all over him...eeew. Good bucket list:thumbsup2

Thanks, sorry you still aren't better too. I bet the dentist will appreciate you not coughing all over him.

Okay, sorry I didn't get to catch up with everyone (anyone?). I'll try to catch you all later!

No, being the world's most unreasonable parents would have been not letting him go to the dance they had already spent money on. But if he continues to throw that fit even that would not be unreasonable. In fact if mine had been throwing things around the house the dance would have already been gone. I guess I am the worlds most unreasonable parent.

It sounds like a fun trip and a very special memory for her. Mythosis great!

Wow, I missed some chatter last night/this morning. I haven't read thru, but I'm head back 4 pagest to ketchup...

It used to make me cry to watch it (okay, sometimes it still does), but now I smile more often than not.

And my mom has great stories about how she hunted my dad down like a dog.

Oh you poor thing, 4 whole pages huh! :lmao: Try 40+! :lmao:

You know those happy memories will do that too you. I smiled through most of it last night and then it finally got me. I bet your mom has some great stories.

I can just see the look on that ladies face. It is wonderful that your folks were so good to your friends. There isn't enough of those parents around any more.

You will be able to give Daniel great memories of his grandpa!

And you teared me up again! I'm a sap!

I'm doing my ketchup. Is that throwing you off your ketchup? :confused3

 Ya think!

So I hope everyone has a less tedious day than I'm having so far! xx

Jodie,. A very good vent. I often wonder how many business make it. :sad2:

hey lori, waiting for your 110 pages of post ketchup........

didn't you hear fletcher do roll call this morning and get most of us out of bed?

Here I am. It took me forever to finish. I am catching up on what was posted this morning and then I am going to bombard you with posts! I heard hom alright!

come on jodie, tell us how you really feel.........

came back to add, get your book back from the dentist before you talk about your refund.

Yeah, do that! :upsidedow

HA! I don't think I'll ever go to another race in the same style I did last time. Keep your fingers crossed that we are able to go to Daytona. With everything that is happening... :confused3

Fingers crossed!

I just love how her teacher assigned this assignment yesterday, due on Friday

bbl

Hi Rose! Stone Mountain is in Georgia!

Okay, thanks for keeping the chatter down to a minimum. Ready or not here it comes!

To all the Homies that wanted me to bite them for losing so much weight ya'll will be happy to hear that yesterday I lost nothing!

The doctor said I have soft tissue in my throat (because I'm fat) and asked if I snored. I asked my daughter last night when I picked her up from her basketball game if she could hear me snore at night. She said they could hear me from China. BTW, her team won the game 29-3. I asked how they got the 3, kick a field goal? When you stop breathing it shuts of air to the lungs and it sends a message to the brain to wake up. Well I get that message 200 times a night so I toss and turn and never get enough sleep. It can actually cause heart attacks and sudden death for old fat guys like me. Some healthy football player died from it. One of the guys at work did the sleep lab the night before and found he has it. He is going to do the surgery. Surgery has a 70% chance of working and the forced air masks have a 100%. I'm going to do the lab and find out how bad I am. This usually is a man thing like being color blind or left handed. I'm both so I likely have this too.

I'm really ashamed of the commercial I was in. They created a character at my job called Kandu. It started by them sending all the employees a round, yellow, fuzzy ball with little cardboard feet, antennae, and the googly eyes they use in lots of crafts. It had a little ribbon attached that said something like "Yes, we can do!" They wanted to promote this to the public and I lost a bet with the big, big, big boss so he made me put on a costume that was supposed to look like the little yellow ball. They made the body out of bright, yellow, long-haired fabric. To cover my legs they made me don these plus size women's green tights. My shoes were huge green plastic clown shoes. The antennae were glittering silver balls on a hair clamp to the head thing. I had huge yellow clown glasses and they got hair paint and colored my hair and beard yellow. Like Mickey Mouse I didn't talk but unlike MM you could tell who I was! I did 2 commercials in this get up but that wasn't enough. They had me do a promotion at the mall and they gave away the little yellow balls. Kids would see me and try to figure out who I was supposed to be. The best was, "Look, Mom, it's Big Bird!" Embarassing!

I don't care if I ever see snow again! A hundred years ago I worked plowing snow. I drove the V plow so I was the first on the roads. I had to avoid all the cars parked on the road, curbs, mailboxes and drunks. This was difficult in cases where we would have blizzards and drifts.

It looks like Mac puts the Homies to bed every night then I wake them up. So, "Good morning, Homies!"

Hey, I may be saying bite me, but that is just because I need to do something myself. So I guess I am really saying bite me to myself. I really am pulling for you.
Congrats to the dd on her teams win. Good luck with the sleep test. Hope everything is okay. Would love to see pics of that commercial. Come on you just have to share.

morning, getting ready to grab an blankie & crawl on the big comfy couch (anyone remember that pbs show?) late for my 1st one, ds usually has brought me home a bug from skool by sept

lori - i developed my height aversions late in life, convince myself i'll be okay until i get up on the structure, then cling madly to anything with a foothold

Sorry I didn’t get to wish you well before. I knew but was having trouble posting so I was thinking about you.

Strange thing is I don’t really have height aversions. I did not like driving over that dam and all that water though.

Another peep from the northeast. Sigh. I'm still in the minority.

Oh, don't worry. He will NEVER forget the time he took us over the mountain. ;)

You know, they have that Richard Petty Driving Experience at most Nascar tracks. If you check 1800bePetty dot com it lists the tracks where you can do it. They have either drive the car or ride along options. It's not cheap, but, if it is really a bucket list wish... :confused3

:guilty: Sorry. I'll do better next time. Can I send the kids to you when they pitch a hissy fit?

Is hissy fit a southern thing? Do people have hissy fits elsewhere in the world? I mean, I know they have them... but do you call it that? :confused3

*Ahem* I think I was the only one who mentioned "bite me" and I believe I stated that I was controlling the urge to tell you to bite me and instead said "way to go." :snooty: :rolleyes1

One of the reasons why we decided to have the surgery on Joshua was the ENT doc told us the long term statistics for heart problems, etc for people with sleep apnea. My FIL uses the Darth mask. Has for years. He can't sleep without it anymore.

Oh, please tell me you have a picture. Somewhere. Anywhere. PLEASE! :lmao:

Don’t forget I am way in the minority. At least most of you live out east, I’m in the freaking middle of the country.

Glad you aren’t going to let Brad forget about it!

I think I would like to do the Richard Petty driving experience once. Have you ever done it?

Yep, hissy fits exist here too. My kids would never do that though! Really they wouldn’t. Especially not the baby of the family.

Well, I think I did agree with you on the bite me comment.

I think the reason I get sick every year is because we never had my tonsils removed. They told my mom that I had cronic tonsillitis when I was in high school but I was already at the age it would have been very hard on my. Now I am wishing we had done it.

I want to see that pic too!!!!

I got my W2s e-mailed to me! :yay: :yay:

E-filing FTW!

Congrats!

well....of course!!! (Nobody seemed to pick up on the "knife" comment when we were talking about spoonin' and forkin'....:confused3 .....DH & I used those terms all the time with a good laugh!)

I got it, just didn’t get to post about it. See I am very slow.

I actually am looking forward to getting ours this year as well. I won't get into what happened last year. Let's just say when you're DINKs, it is best to file your W4 as "married but withhold at the higher single rate." :rolleyes1

Chattanooga, Tricia? For real? Can we maybe do Dollywood instead? That's so much more funner. Funnerer. Funnest. Ever.

Anyway, GOOD MORNING, homie-ritos and homie-ritas!!!

Well, we will get money back but I never look forward to doing my taxes.

Chattanooga was beautiful. I could do a meet there.

Crap. That reminds me that I have to do W-2s this week.

And did you get them done?

Lori - Loved the colon cleanse story! :lmao:

Glad I could share with you.

I found this nanner for Joshua and Fbean.....
BannanaMario.gif
Mario rocks!!!!

Baby girl is now named - Cierra Grace - I think its nice :goodvibes Apparently the boys were like little demons last night in the hospital. The youngest (3yo) ripped the bow out of her hair (the hospital put it there after she was born) they were rolling on the floor and trying to run out in the hallway :scared1: :scared1: They are a handful for sure :faint:

Cute Mario smilie.

Cierra Grace is almost as beautiful a name as Tink or Belle. Perfect for that beautiful baby.

this is news for you.

I have never quit a job before. well i did. I quit first week of January. I did the right thing and DH supported me 200 percent. then, less than 48 hours later my nephew passed away. so while having been a wacky two weeks, yes i am looking for a new job and doing well, despite crashing and burning monday with the snowblower.

so, compared with others in this world, i am doing pretty damn well. :thumbsup2

Wow Penny. I had no idea. Good luck in your job search. I hope you find something much better. You have a great attitude with all you’ve been through.

January 16, 2008 DISASTER! A MAJOR MOTION PICTURE RIDE.STARRING YOU! OPENS
TODAY AT UNIVERSAL ORLANDO RESORT

Orlando, Fla. (January 17, 2008) - Disaster! A Major Motion Picture
Ride.Starring You! opens today at Universal Studios Florida. The new
attraction features the first-ever use by a theme park of a high-tech
virtual imagery technology called "Musion" and a special appearance by
Hollywood actor Dwayne Johnson.

Sounds great. Can’t wait to try it out.

Don't think of it as 'minority'...think of it as 'smart you live far enuf away from us'....closer to motherland, not in the cold or the snow.... :thumbsup2

We went to NH for a wedding when I was pregnant....drove the RENTAL car up Mt. Washington  :lmao: Same thing...NO guiderails, driving to edge of the road...DH later admitted he was scared outta his mind! (Was cool tho! I recommend it to anyone!)

Yeah, she is the smarter one isn’t she? I am planning to move to her area. No I’m not stalking you though Tricia. We want to get closer to Florida but not in Florida and we want to be somewhere that we don’t have to worry about temperature extremes and lots of bad weather.

Barb that trip does not sound like fun.

Sorry, I thought that was a common thing. Ummm... it's an impolite slang acronym for F-word Old People (or, the more polite Florida Old People).

I couldn’t figure it out either. Makes perfect sense now though.

Ok, Barb, on the Real HOs of the OC, I cannot STAND Vicki. OMG, is she not the most annoying person anywhere, EVER?! I like Jeana and Tammy. Next time you're watching, count how many times Lauri says "Just." Tamra is bizarre and immature, and I'm sorry, but I think both she and her son Ryan just need to admit that he is gay before they can be happy and understand each other and live a peaceful co-existance. You are totally right about the rent and the jeans. What gives with those tattoos? And did Tamra and Simon have to say 8 katrillion times that her Rolex was $40K?? How superficial are these people? And Quinn? Good friggin, grief. I cannot believe that plastic surgeon did not suggest a breast lift for her. She has the Plumber's Butt Cleavage going on in a nasty, nasty way, and she is in serious need of a good lift icw a slight reduction. And what is up with her boyfriend Billy? That is one bizarre tan line around the crown of his hair. And, Jared, that other young guy? He was not a hotty. Something was wrong with him, and what kind of work does he do for a posh pad like that?

OK, now on to PJ, my favorite show! I was so disappointed Kit got booted last night. I like her. Christian I could not stand at first, but he is totally growing on me. Not that I like his style at all, but I do find him entertaining (along with Chris), and I find it fascinating how quick he is. I do not like Victorya. I find her annoying. My fave designer is Jillian. I also get a kick out of Sweet Pea. And why is it Ricky who cries the most? Go Jillian!

What do you think?

Who else is a BRAVO junkie?!

Wow Jodie, you really do get in to those shows. I hate to say I have never seen either of them. They do sound interesting though.

your bil and sil can name the baby anything they want.
we have already named her.
half want tink
half want belle

Yes, we already named her Tinkerbell!

I'm not sharing ANY food with any animal that licks their butt :scared:

The ONLY thing I hate about snow days is they call at 5:30am to let you know school is canceled. Then, I'm too awake to go back to sleep....so, on a day I could sleep in, I'm up even earlier :headache: Besides, I hate when they add days on at the end of the year....summer seems to start when he is done skool..... :woohoo: Don't want to cut into my "summer" time :sad2:

Me either!

Well the way they do it here is to wait until the last possible minute to cancel. Every school around us will be closed the night before and we have to get up to watch the news and see if they have cancelled. They do not call us to let us know. Of course I wouldn’t be to pleasant to them if they called me at 5:30 am either. I don’t want them cutting in to our summer time either. Of course it doesn’t matter since Mikey has to play summer ball if he wants to play for the school the next year and it is not over until the end of June. That is why we are leaving for vacation on July 5th.

Owwww, I love that trip up the mountain? Did you get the bumper sticker they used to give out. It's a real trip coming down isn't it. They just had a contest here to pick a new kitty to live at the observation tower at the top. The previous kitty was very popular with the visitors. He would eat hotdogs right out of your hand. Did you see the Cog Railway train? That's a fun ride too. My first visit was with my very first serious boyfriend back in high school. I still have the photos we took! Mt. Washington is about 1 1/2 hours from my house. To get there you have to go thru North Conway were they have some wonderful outlet stores. Its not the stores so much, as the scenery surrounding them. Beautiful little town.

DH is self employed. We have to save the money ourselves. I hate it. Just mailed in a quarterly payment this week.

It sounds like a lovely drive but not one I would want to do.

I know my in laws hate sending in their quarterly tax payments. I fell for you.

Your sister is lucky to have you!

Thanks. I think I am lucky to have her too.

Been there. Understand completely. Have a good day.

Oh, and what kind of mag does your sister have? :confused3

She publishes two real estate magazines. I help her on her deadline weekend.

I disagree. :goodvibes Go with the patented Jodie & Mike cleaning system: give yourself 2 weeks, then host a dinner party. You're forced to do the commando cleaning in preparation for guests. That is the only time we clean. When the house gets out of control, that's what we do: send out invites for a party so we know we'll clean! :rolleyes1

So, I vote BUCKET list! We already know what you've done. What do you want to do?!

That is usually how this place gets cleaned too. I am staying on top of everyone at least for now and it is staying clean. Usually stay that way until I am gone for a few days then I come home to a mess and just let it drop. I really am trying not to do that again.

Comcast might still have the commercial in a can. It was kind of neat getting a dressing room and all. I searched for and found a polaroid of the mall thing. By the mall I'd exchanged the green tights for black ones and I had red clown tennis shoes. The outfit had a hat like an aviator's that I had forgot about. The rest of the get up will take years of therapy to forget. I'll auction the polaroid to the highest bidder. You would have to be pretty
"high" to buy it.
One year for Christmas my brother got me a pair of mantyhose which were pantyhose with an additional "leg" in front. I tried those on so I know the feeling. I spent an hour itching my legs when I took them off. I tried to put them on drunk one night and ended up running them all over the place. So I feel the pain you ladies have to go through to be beautiful.

It sounds like you enjoyed it even if it was a bit embarrassing. Interesting present from your brother.
