I'm in need of hugs this morning and the person I want them from isn't speaking to me at the moment...

Woke up with a migraine this morning. Took some Excedrin Migraine. Now I'm at work with no headache but feel like I'm going to puke. It's going to be one looooong day.

A guy was telling me about a drug alert at the High School that his kid goes to and I simply could not beleive it until I read this:

I went home for lunch and checked with my son who said he never heard of it but I'm sure that I'll have to check my daughter's purse/pockets for balloons. How are they going to make this illegal? Who was the first person to try this?

If I am reading the article correctly, they are saying that, while the memo was genuine, it appears that whoever sent the memo has fallen for one of the many urban legends circulating on the internet. They reference the NYFD memo that went out (genuine memo) about the stolen UPS uniforms (urban legend) to make their point. About 12 years ago I served as the Collier County Council of PTA's President and I had the Sheriff's Drug Unit bring in a sample of the current designer drugs so parents could see, touch and smell what their kids may be getting into. If I did that today they would likely bring in a jar of crap!

I got a call at work this morning from my daughter.
She says, "Mom, I just saw James (DS) driving around town. Is he skipping school??"
Geez, how to rat your brother out!! How funny is that?! He actually has senior privilages and can leave at lunch time.

Hi all-
Sorry, can't address anyone, need prayers.
My grandma fell early this morning and was taken to the hospital this AM.
She bumped the back of her head. She has some kind of contusion.
My mom was at the ER with her early this AM and she said grandma is responsive, but is put on morphine and is wiped out. Grandma is on a regular med-surg unit at the hosp now. Grandma is in stable condition and has to stay at hosp for 24 hour observation. Don't know if she had to have stitches. My mom said she didn't think she did. GRandma will have another CAT scan early tomorrow morning, before they release her back to the nursing home.
Any good thoughts and prayers are appreciated. THanks!!

I won't be visiting her at the hosp tonight because my mom says it isn't necessary as grandma is groggy anyways, unless Grandma gets worse.
Baths and showers tonight for hte kids.

DH is going to get his phone call tonight from the recruiter to prep him for the 2nd interview tomorrow, too.
Just found out today also, that the CEO dude that DH works for now doesn't want to hire my DH permanently!
He's waffling the issue of hiring DH permanent, so I'm very glad DH is getting htis 2nd interview with htis other co. tomorrow.

DH used to live in Ft Lauderdale (Naples too, for that matter) when he worked for NCR. Lago Mar was one of his clients. Amazing place. Have a fabulous (surprise) trip!

For the last 10 years or so, we have stayed in the "executive suites". What's nice about Lago Mar is that they retain their employees, (some have been there their whole working lives), so the front desk people know us, and we get the room we like with the view of the pools and the ocean. Plus a little tip to the front desk guy doesn't hurt!

I took DH to Ft Lauderdale in January to celebrate his 50th birthday. We stayed at Bahia Mar. It was fun letting him trip down memory lane and show me around his old stompin' grounds.

Kinda the same thing here, DH went to college in Ft Lauderdale and I spent summers with my Aunt and Uncle growing up. I babysat my cousins during the week. On the weekends my aunt and uncle took us to Disney (back when they used coupons for rides!) and Lion Country and what's that place with flowers and ladies in southern dresses? It was a wonderful time for me.
I found out in later years, that when I was younger, I was down there for the summer so my mom didnt have to pay for a sitter while she worked. My dad and mom had divorced, which left my sister and I home alone alot.Worked out great for all of us I guess.
My aunt and uncle are now in there 80's and I try to get down to FL a couple times a year to see them. They are the only family I have besides my sister and Mom. My dad passed away before my kids were born.

I hope you guys are on speaking terms before your trip. It'll make for a more fun getaway.

thats for sure! We'll be ok by this weekend. Just too much crap going on and we are both kinda frazzled.
