Ahhh....it's okay Penny  You only have to deal w/ the dumb@$$es for...what? 49 days? I deal with them EVERYDAY :headache:  Hang in there....nothing is more true than the holidays come faster every year...which means they are over faster......

Tricia....loved the pix of your crew....who is who??? :confused3

I'll have to look at the pics again or I'll get confused...

FamilyWithMickey.jpg

Okay, to the left is my mom & dad, next is Brad & Me, Joshua is in front of Mickey (this was our pregnant-with-Daniel trip), my nephew Cory is peeking over Mickey's head (that's my brother's kid), next is my brother Darryl & his (third) wife Karen, last is Carol & her partner Deb.

The other pic is from our trip the follow year. Add in baby Daniel. Cory and Deb opted out of the big breakfast that trip. :confused3

Looking at the pics reminds me that we are fast approaching the one year anniversary of my father's death. He died November 21, 2006. I've been thinking about him a lot the past few days. I guess I'll always miss my Daddy.

okay, just re-scrubbed the bathroom tub (did it sunday)and folded more laundry......:sad2:

 time to lie down.....

goodnight all

Evening everyone!

Good day, no kids!!!

Got home by 3!!!!

I better enjoy it now because the Boys Swim season starts Tuesday :sad2:

Watching Zodiac...I'll let you know how it is after its over

Barb - You are correct. I forgot I had posted it before until it was already on here. Figured I would just leave it.

Penny - So sorry you are having such a problem with the dumb@sses of the world. Hope things look up for you soon. Oh, and I hate the time change too!

Janet - Lots of prayers for your mom and you. Remember the thread on the DVC board by jimmytammy? Her mom was not supposed to pull through but with all the prayers said she did and is just fine now. They said it was a miracle that she survived. Let us homies help you through it.

Wal-Mart is in full on December Holiday of Over Commercialization mode. When getting cat food I almost wanted to kick over a Santa. Almost. :darth:

<---Grinch

Hey, a Grinch smiley would be pretty cool now that I think of it.

I'm also going to have to agree...Gemma, ease off the :drinking1 ! Otherwise that "worst pic" may become mild. I can link you to some HORRIBLE things people have done to their drunken/passed out friends. Sharpie on the arms/chest, mild. Putting someone in drag and shaving their head poorly (deliberately) = :scared1: :scared1: :scared1:

Rise and shine everyone on this chilly day!

Love the Grinch smilie Lori!

Zodiac Review----------> OK, a little long for my taste

Off to work to greet the kiddies!!

Happy Hump Day!!!

Gotta love these kids! DS12 (who has a 25 minute outdoor lunch recess) insisting this morning that short sleeves and a "hoodie" is enough to wear. Except it's currently 25 - with a wind chill of 17! Of course his polartec jacket is nowhere to be found, along with his golf jacket. What happens is I make him wear jackets, they make it to school, and never home again. We have conferences next week - I'll make him open his locker and probably come home with 10 jackets and hoodies! Dug an old jacket out of the closet while he complained it zipped on the wrong side. Yes, this weekend we're digging out the winter coats! And I know, you've all been wearing your winter coats since Labor Day too, right?

Well, because of state testing (only the sophomores test), I have DS14 home (and asleep right now) this morning. Because of the play, he's REALLY far behind on homework, so I'll be throwing him out of bed in a bit. Promised to help him on an essay this morning. He has to write two days of his life in as much detail as possible. I quickly pointed out I had a 60 page Word document of our 15 day trip from this summer - at least 4 pages for some of the days I guess, so he can pick the longest and use that as a starting point! Not sure what other day he'll use, but if that's an example, this essay's going to be 20 pages long!

Janet - the whole story with your mom is just crazy. There's a similar thread on the CB about the problems with medical care and it just shocks me! :scared1: I mean having medical problems is one thing, and that's bad enough, but when you can't even get in to see a doctor (in her case) or see one like the one your mom saw, well, it just scares me! Hope things continue to improve. Whenever I talk about you guys, I say "the people on my thread" to refer to you. I also get weird looks from people! They'll say, "Your THREAD?" Hard to explain. DS14 refers to you as my "invisible friends"!

Yes, Lori, Stephen (DS14) is the one in the play. Last rehearsal tonight, then the play itself tomorrow. We're going tomorrow night with the other 2 boys for "military and senior" night. Free spaghetti dinner and free play tickets for you and a friend, so our sons are going to be our friends. And yes, we're prior military, NOT seniors! :rotfl: Then we're going Friday night for a regular night with some other friends.

Saturday DH and DS15 are going to Madison for the Wisconsin/Michigan game. Go BLUE! DS12 has a piano Baroque festival, so no one will be at Stephen's play that day. We also have an athletic fundraiser at 8:30 that evening. Going to be a long day!

I love seeing everyone's pics; although the Disney ones are just depressing me! But it's lots of fun to put the names to faces. Tricia - I was guessing the pics in the wrong order. Didn't notice Daniel was missing in the one! I thought the other one was the older pic until you pointed out he wasn't there! I can't even imagine dealing with groups that size. Nope, no way, unh uh! Brought Grandma once for 3 days and that was enough stress (although lots of fun)!

Penny - You must have one clean tub if you scrubbed it twice in one week. I don't want to mention when mine was scrubbed last. :rolleyes1

Lori - Thanks for the hugs.

DM - If it is one of those singing, moving Santas that won't shut up for 2 months like they have at my Wal-Mart... kick away! ;)

Katie - We've got a chilly start for our day too. It was 31 when we got up this morning and only up to 35 now. Our high is suppose to reach 56, so it warms up quick once the sun does its thing.

Marcie - It sounds like things are super busy for you. No, we haven't dug out the winter coats yet, but have stepped up from the light weight windbreakers to the in-between varsity style jackets. The Michelin Man coats won't make it out of the closet for another month or so (probably).

Happy Hump Day!

I'm not getting much accomplished. With Joshua's (and now my niece's) birthday party fast approaching, I haven't got a menu planned or shopped or anything. It is SO hard to feed this group of people. I know I've complained about this before, but with my MIL needing a gluten free meal... Ugh... it is SUCH A PAIN!!! I just want to order pizza and be done with it, but I can't. I was talking to my mother about it yesterday and she says, "Just tell her to bring her own lunch."

Yeah, right. I said back, "Is that what you taught me to do? Invite a guest to my house and then tell them to bring their own food?"

Didn't think so. It's just that my mom has issues with my in laws because she has never had to share her grandchildren with another set of grandparents. Sigh.

I've got some brainstorming to do today and my brain doesn't feel like storming. I'm tired. I'm cranky. I'm blah. Oh, well. I'll figure something out.

Tricia- how about hot dogs and hamburgers, sans buns?

a side salad/green salad and

decorate a caramel apple for dessert, the kids could do their own, and it would be an activity, and no cake issues

(just a suggestion)

Mornin' all.....

Another day off for me  ....but only cuz Bubba gots a 'bad belly' ...oh well.... He's really disappointed to miss school TODAY...his 2 favorite 'special' classes are today: computer and gym  But, on the bright side, he gets a day to relax....

Tricia...I'm sorry to hear about your Dad..... I lost my Dad almost 20 years ago I was sad the first few "holidays/anniversaries" of everything too...:sad1: It does bum you out, but it will get easier as the years go on. It turns from "bumming out" to more of a "remember and smile" type thing....Turns into something like: "Remember when Dad put the potatoes in the microwave without piercing them first? He did not plan on mashed potatoes for dinner :rotfl: " type thing..... Oh, and I can see the family resemblence between you, your Dad and your brother...I think Carol looks like Ma. You all look like a fun loving bunch of partiers, er, I mean people!
Why don't you just order a cold cut platter for the party? Get a pizza for the kids and that for the adults? Or a giant hoagie? We'll help ya ;)

Penny...ya just HAD to put him in yer sig, didntcha? I was going to, but thought I'd stick with the "turkey" theme first ;) But, it's a good reminder....

Oh, and DM, you break him, you buy him! :rolleyes1 But, yes, I see your point...Christmas starts earlier and earlier every year....but for those who "need" that extra time (:rolleyes1 ), it's quite helpful AND gets you in the mood to git er dun!

Marcie....don't refer to us as "people on your thread" ...I can see how you'd get weird reactions....refer to us as "people i talk to on a/my message board"...works out much better! :thumbsup2 And yes, we've been donning winter coats for a couple weeks...unless it's a sweatshirt, then lighter jackets in morning will do...but when you wake up and your backyard is full of frost  Let's just say, summer is still TOO fresh in my brain!

Hey...my tub/shower is super clean too...did it yesterday. Sprayed the limescale stuff to clean the doors (ugh, how I hate doors!) But, I announced last night the bathroom, tub, floor, EVERYTHING was just cleaned and I expected it to stay that way more than 2 days.....dontcha know, Bubba points to Dad and says "Yeah Dad" :rotfl2: Then there was a discussion about who is messier than who in the bathroom :rolleyes1

Well, since I have an unscheduled day off, guess i can continue where i left off yesterday with the houseworks........

Hey...homies who are lurkin'.....git postin'!!!!! We miss you :grouphug:

Awesome ideas from Penny and Barb for you there Tricia!!! :thumbsup2 Others can use the buns, MIL does not need to though!!

Hope the menu comes together rather quickly. I would also look into ordering the pizza and then just making a small meal for MIL. :confused3 Only thing we need to worry about is peanuts, tree nuts and shrimp around Cbean. Its tough, but making everything myself makes it easier. Also just wanted to give you some  about Dad.

Speaking of Cbean, when the heck will we get our frost so that her allergies will calm the heck down? Taking her for her annual visit to the Allergy/Asthma doctor this afternoon. Her primary put her on Zyrtec a few weeks ago as a temporary until we got in with the A/A doc and it makes her stinking EVIL and goes from this :furious: to this  at the drop of a hat. I am trying to be patient, but its wearing thin......very, very thin. On the up side she is going back to iceskating lessons this Saturday and she is a natural and LOVES it!! Last fall she was invited to a birthday party, never put on a set of skates before, and the moment her feet hit the ice she just took off and hasn't looked back since. Anything athletic, she is all over it, and does well. Very proud of her :cool2: princess:

Let's see, what else???

Gemma: please be careful. You are very lucky to have good friends, but it is the moment that you get separated from them that you need to worry.

Marcie: What is it with teens? Kait is sure that the hoodie she has will keep her plenty warm. I said uh-uh, no way, you need a winter jacket. I don't care if its one of those thin ski jackets that Columbia has, you need one. Frank doesn't argue and Court would wear a parka every day if you let her (she gets cold really fast)......so we are now winter coat shopping here.

Barb: That was so nice of you to grab that Wii :flower3: Your co-worker is a lucky one!! :flower3: We have all of the gaming systems hooked up to the living room tv (except for the old N64, that is in Frank's room) it gives us the ability to :flower3: "control" the games and amount of time spent playing them.

Katie: glad to hear about the quiet day yesterday - have a nice loud day today :lmao:

Janet: We are here, good or bad, always remember that!!:grouphug:

mac: Hope all is well in your neck of the woods! Stay warm!!!

Lori: Which one is you?? I love the pictures, keep them coming.

DM: kick the santa once for you and once for me. Kait wanted to knock over the inflatable snowman outside our supermarket the night before Halloween. (oh yeah, they had him out there before Halloween :scared: )

Going to refill my coffee and get something done around here.....be back later!! Sorry if I haven't covered everything and everybody....you know I loves ya!!!

My parting gift to you all......Best Commercial EVER!!!!! Always puts a smile on my face:

Penny - That's a good idea. I can do burgers and dogs. I'll just have to cook a couple on the stove or lay aluminum foil on the grill (gotta worry about picking something up from a sauce or marinade that we've used in the past). She can just ignore the buns. I can do green salad, make some potato salad, and there are a couple of brands of baked beans that are gluten-free. I'll buy some Edy's vanilla ice cream... I know that is gluten-free. I'll still have cake, but she can just have ice cream.

Done.

Thanks!

Barb - Sorry about Bubba's tummy. Joshua's teacher mentioned that yesterday she had a couple kids with "tummy aches". I just hope they stay home and don't spread it around. A stomach virus ran through Joshua's class last year and it was NOT fun.

Tracie - Oh, man. I can't imagine CBean on Zyrtec. All those hormones raging anyway and then you add that on top of it? You have my sympathies. :flower3:

The gluten-free thing usually isn't a big deal if I am inviting them over to dinner. I've got tons of recipes and stuff that I can make. It's just when I have to feed them AND everyone else that it becomes a chore.

Morning all
I'm in need of hugs this morning and the person I want them from isn't speaking to me at the moment...:sad2:

Woke up with a migraine this morning. Took some Excedrin Migraine. Now I'm at work with no headache but feel like I'm going to puke. It's going to be one looooong day.

Morning everyone! I am running late today, actually slept until 7:30!!!! Guess
I made up for the 5 & 5:30 mornings. Gotta run but wanted to say hi! I will catch up with you all later. Have a great day everyone.

Speaking of Cbean, when the heck will we get our frost so that her allergies will calm the heck down?

We had frost almost every morning last week....guess it takes longer in the city, huh? Don't worry....soon.... My office mgr. at work has severe allergies (wears a mask, stays in ac, etc) and she is still very miserable...

....it makes her stinking EVIL and goes from this :furious: to this  at the drop of a hat. I am trying to be patient, but its wearing thin......very, very thin. On the up side she is going back to iceskating lessons this Saturday and she is a natural and LOVES it!!

Good luck with the 'moods' and remember...she really can't help it (mostly) Keep the patience, keep the love...... and it's good to hear she's so "into" skating....keeps her focused on something so she isn't thinking about the allergies.

Katie: glad to hear about the quiet day yesterday - have a nice loud day today :lmao:

:lmao: :lmao: :lmao:

Here Sharon: :grouphug: from all yer friends in the box.... Can you get a hug from a friend nearby?? Sorry to hear the 'someone' you really want a hug from isn't speakin to ya..... Keep the faith....it's Hump Day! (and I forget again, when is your 'surprise' trip?)

Penny - That's a good idea. I can do burgers and dogs. I'll just have to cook a couple on the stove or lay aluminum foil on the grill (gotta worry about picking something up from a sauce or marinade that we've used in the past).
