Kinda the same thing here, DH went to college in Ft Lauderdale and I spent summers with my Aunt and Uncle growing up. I babysat my cousins during the week. On the weekends my aunt and uncle took us to Disney (back when they used coupons for rides!) and Lion Country and what's that place with flowers and ladies in southern dresses? It was a wonderful time for me.
I found out in later years, that when I was younger, I was down there for the summer so my mom didnt have to pay for a sitter while she worked. My dad and mom had divorced, which left my sister and I home alone alot.Worked out great for all of us I guess.
My aunt and uncle are now in there 80's and I try to get down to FL a couple times a year to see them. They are the only family I have besides my sister and Mom. My dad passed away before my kids were born.

My husband went to college in Boca Raton (FAU). I remember Lion Country Safari... and... Cypress Gardens is the place with the girls in hoop skirts, right? The one with the water ski show and all that?

Warning, rant ahead!

Idiot Nephew just called me. You must remember Idiot Nephew. The one with the staged "official engagement" in Ireland and the "vow exchange" at the Orlando Ritz and the "wedding ceremony" coming up in January? Yeah, that one.

He wants my boys to be ring bearers in his wedding ceremony.

Holy crap.

He waits until 2 months before the ceremony, after we've made travel plans, and throws this out like it's no big deal.

Now, we have to drive to freakin Nashville a day earlier so that the boys can be there for the rehearsal. Now, we have to rent freakin tuxes for the boys to match the wedding party. Now, Brad & I will have to dress us all up TWICE... once for the rehearsal, once for the wedding.

Yeah, I know... technically, we don't "have to"... but it is Brad's only sister and it is her only son... so I feel obligated... completely and totally obligated.

I would say rant over, but I'm sure it'll bubble up and you'll have to hear about it again.

Tricia - thanks for that link! It's hilarious - we were reading the Toys R Us catalog this weekend and I told my family that that was the ONE thing I wanted for Christmas. When my kids were young they did a lot of those bead things that you had to iron. This just seemed so easy and neat that I wanted to try it. Usable as a date rape drug? THERE'S something you want associated with your children's toys! Now my husband is bummed out because now he doesn't have anything left to get me. When he saw the link you sent was only an hour old, he was ready to run out to Toys R Us! Told him he'd be in line with a bunch of teenage boys and stopped by the DEA at the checkout!

The essay ended up being nearly 20 pages! Basically the essay was that if you were going to lose your memory for the last year, and could remember only two days, and what you wrote, in detail, would help you to remember those days, to describe them in as much detail as possible. The first day, our day at Epcot, was 13 pages. Thanksgiving with family back in Michigan was only 5 pages, then he had to have a page intro and conclusion.

Sorry to not respond to everyone else right now. Between my job, which seems to be 5.5 hours of sitting at a computer typing, and typing those 20 pages for DS, I've lost my motivation to sit here any longer! I'll see if I can catch up in the morning!

Hey everyone!

Had a dozing off period for about 2 hours, and now heading off to sleep....

Well had the last procedure done on my teeth! About $2K later, my smile is painless!


Well the DF went to the Dr. today and was told he needs a growth removed from his forehead (very minor) and he probably has a lipoma in his back (fatty tissue deposit). He may have to have surgery if they can't remove it in the office. Luckily its genetic and I know that it happens in his family so everything should be A-OK.

OK, BM, you peaked my interest so I spent an hour and a half surfing for this with no luck. There are a million sites that show reactions to seeing it but the site was blasted from cyberspace. How about a detailed account or better yet a reenactment? Some of the reactions were pretty telling and gross in their own right.

Joshua was singing all the way to school, "It's Thursday... the day before Friday... my Lucky Duck Day... then it's my birthday... then it's my party..."

He might be just a little bit excited.

So, this evening I have to do the grocery shopping. I'm waiting until Brad gets home and can go with us because I'll be picking up Joshua's cupcake cake (Ever seen one? They are SO cute!) to take to his class tomorrow. I'm not dealing with kids, groceries, and a big bakery box by myself.

Somewhere in the next 48 hours, I suppose I should clean house.

I'm off to email my SIL and find out what the dress code is for the rehearsal that we now have to attend. Hopefully I'll be able to wait until the after Christmas sales to pick up something for the boys to wear, since I'm guessing that it is a shirt & tie event.

Well, I have good news and bad news.
Good news: Grandma is doing ok and is being discharged from the hospital this afternoon- going back to the nursing home, back to her own room
Bad news: the recruiter called DH late this morning and the permanent position was offered to the person that had the 2nd interview this morning. DH didn't even have the 2nd interview with the Co. THey canceled his 2nd interview, since the position was offered to the other person this morning
DH is still with the temp job. But we are back to square one
When DH told me late this morning, I was crying. Him and I are pretty depressed right now. Tho he is depressed at his job right now and I'm depressed here at home.
Just very frustrating

THank you all for letting me vent. I have nowhere else to vent, as I don't have any really close friends(DH is my closest friend). Just you guys in this box. You are all my friends
