Quick check in. We were only gone 48 hours, but you’d think it was weeks. I’ve got laundry out the wazoo (and you know how painful that can be)… I’ve got a constipated 2 year old because apparently he has decided that he can’t “go” for Grandma… I’ve got a 5 year old with a wobbly tooth (it won’t make it through the day… actually BOTH his front teeth are gonna come out in the next day or two…)… I’ve got a bed that smells suspiciously of urine (I’m not going to ask who’s it is… I’m just washing the whole deal in HOT water with bleach)… AND I've got to gut a few pumpkins so we can carve tomorrow.

Why do we go away again? Oh, yeah… for the rest and relaxation… right…

I've got over 100 pictures from the weekend. We had a GREAT time!

.....see somebody has taken my
UNIVERSAL IS KEWL tag..........
i received that tag when i had only 11 posts to my name.
i loved that tag.
i want that tag back.
now i will have a miserable night.
the replacement tag is not the same.

:sad1:

Sorry to hear that  Wait, can't you bribe a TF to give it back??? I didn't know they could "take"....only thought they could give????

Can the retailers at least WAIT for Halloween (the superior holiday) to end first? Sheesh!

Uh-uh....I got too much to do and not enuf time to do it all in! I've already spend about $300 on Bubba (& haven't really gotten anything to show for it :guilty: )

I am going in late today as I have a doctor's appointment first. Woo Hoo - extra time for me this morning.

So, how'd it go?? :confused3 Ok I hope! :thumbsup2

Barb - good deal on the Halloween costume! I wouldn't need to buy that ne though - we could just go dig through the attic and pull out a bunch of our old BDU's (battle dress uniform - the green ones) or DCU's (desert camouflauge uniform - the tan ones). None of my kids have ever expressed an interest in wearing them, however!

well...of course not. If you have it, why would they WANT to wear it????

I think I'm one of the only people in the world who's never colored my hair. It was frustrating when I was a bit younger because every time I'd get a perm, I'd have to go through an entire argument with the hairstylist about whether my hair was colored. The conversation would go like this:

Stylist: Do you color your hair?
Me: No

S: (rolling her eyes) Does SOMEONE color your hair?
M: No

S: This is your NATURAL haircolor? (Said in a disbelieving tone)
M: Yes

S: You realize, I have to use a different perm if your hair is colored, so you really need to tell me if it is or it will ruin your hair.
M: Yes, I understand. My hair is not colored. Does it really look like it's colored?

S: Yep - looks like it's right out of a box!

Can't tell you how many times I had this replayed. Originally I'd always say "If I was going to color my hair, would I color it THIS color?" I just always thought my hair color was so "blah" - not blond, not brown, just something in the middle. At least now that my hair has some grey in it I don't get asked as often. Guess they figure if I was going to color it, I'd probably color the grey ones too!

Uh....a "good" stylist can tell the difference....guess she didn't have much experience under her belt??? There are many ways to tell just by looking if hair is colored or not. And, why would you NOT tell her the truth if it meant "ruining" your hair??? Duh....

I'm baaaaack...
and the answer is...

YES

;) :rolleyes1

:cool1: :woohoo: :yay:  :cheer2: :dance3: :smokin: party: :jumping1: :jumping3: :teeth: CONGRATS!!!!

We finally got notice from NBC that they are going to air the piece about our special needs cheer team tonight. Not a lot of notice, but at least they did tell us. NBC Nightly News (on at 5:30pm MDT in our part of the woods), tonight, 10/29.

I taped it cuz we were at soccer practice....and it didn't air? :confused3 Did I miss something??? HELP!

Congratulations! to the Red Sox. They were incredible. Your team deserved to win!

Now mourning the fall of our Rockies. But they are a young team with even younger players. Nobody thought we could even make it to the World Series. So, in the immortal words of Awrnooold..."We'll Be Back"

Again....karma...."what goes around, comes around..." You sweep us, we sweep you.... (Go Phils)

Hi Everyone!

Just popping in for a quick Mommy brag....

We finally got notice from NBC that they are going to air the piece about our special needs cheer team tonight. Not a lot of notice, but at least they did tell us. NBC Nightly News (on at 5:30pm MDT in our part of the woods), tonight, 10/29.

Hopefully, I made the cutting floor :teeth:

But our kids are the Suns - white uniforms, red bows. The kids in black/teal are the Peak Athletics, who came up to our gym to be part of the segment. They all such a good job in front of the cameras, especially having to do their stuff over and over again for 5 hours.

Now off to get snacks for the Bronco game.
Goofy, I didn't get a chance to see the Nightly News clip, as I didn't read this until after it was on here in Chicago (5:30pm central). Did they show your cheerleading team? I think it's great they have something like this for special needs girls :thumbsup2 My DD Chrissy would probably think about joining something like that, but we don't have a special needs cheerleading class here, as far as I know :guilty: We have NWSRA (Northwest Suburban Recreational Association) here, but they have limited classes for the kids.

Is it ok to ask, what kind of disability does your DD have? If you rather PM me about it, that's fine. My DD Chrissy has a complex congenital heart defect- Truncus Arteriosis. And she has Di George syndrome, which is her developmental delay. She is mainstreamed in her classroom with a teacher's aide. She is 10. DS Matthew (also 10, they are twins) he has high- functioning autism. He is doing very well in school! He is also mainstreamed, but without an aide.

Ok, gotta run.

drive by hi!

irritated the old back issue, woke to spasms you wouldn't believe; good thing for mother's 'lil helpers:thumbsup2 ; slept most of the day & back to bed soon - feeling fine:)

quick read - if mac lost a tag i am going on record as saying i had nuthin' to do with it:mad: i had one spirited away; least it was replaced with another.

did call cruiseline, still nothing posted for excursions...they tell me they may not put anything up for a couple of the ports:rolleyes1 ; will just have to wait & see - can always book onboard - WTH?:headache: have to get a "ruin" in or i'm toast w/the teachers; if we have to give up cave tubing it'll be a disappointment. why they had to pick this sailing to experiment switching things is beyond me...whine over; see ya tomorrow.

Tricia - glad to have you back. Yes, it's always fun to return after any "time away" isn't it? Hope you had a relaxing time to make up for the "fun" now!

Janet - wow, that's a bummer. It was frustrating for us when all that happened on our cruise, but it was because of the hurricanes - we really couldn't blame the cruise line, they did what they could. Maybe not the best decisions overall as it turned out, but no one could predict everything that would happen. However if they were doing it just to "test things out" - yeah, I'd be really annoyed too. As we all know (or we wouldn't be on these boards!), planning is half the fun. To be told "sign up onboard" would not make me happy either! Good luck and let us know what happens!

Barb - I heard those comments from various stylists over the years - probably about every other time I got a perm. Granted, I tend to go to your "chain" stores (Fantastic Sams, Cost Cutters, Bo Rics - not sure what you have in your area), so I probably don't get the "top of the line" stylists, but I heard it SO many times that it just got redundant! Guess I didn't run into too many "good" stylists!

Goofy - congrats on the news! I also didn't get home in time to catch it - hope it was great! If you're watching the Broncos, look for my DH - he'll be the one in the Favre Packers jersey! Actually he called from the game already and said there were a LOT of Packers' fans there, but mostly from around the area there. He'd ask them where they were from and they'd say "Denver/Boulder, etc." and ask where he was from and he'd say "Um...Green Bay" (duh!). Sounds like he's having fun!

goofy, i watched nbc news at 5:30/ brian williams, and did not see the segment

i'm p. o.ed i did not see it.
did anyone see the segment?

hopefully, it will turn up on youtube........

keisha, my universal is kewl tag was taken away and the one about drooling on the keyboard was left in it's place.

i feel asleep on the keyboard.
lesson learned.
never talk about yourself on the dis...........

and the laugh is on me as i knew better and know what i know about that.

Janet...hope the ole back gets better...lotsa rest :thumbsup2

Marcie... a lot of "new" stylists go to Cost Cutter type salons to start their careers....go to the cheap, busy salons to "build" their book, then with more experience, move into "higher end" salons for more money...in my business, let's just say "you get what you pay for"

Raven....I didn't see Michele's daughter either! I don't think they aired it....I taped it and looked back thru (in case I missed)...didn't see it... :confused3

Have a good nite everyone!

:cool1: :woohoo: :yay:  :cheer2: :dance3: :smokin: party: :jumping1: :jumping3: :teeth: CONGRATS!!!!

Thanks. It's not like it's a rare event or anything, but since Mac asked so nicely I thought I owed her the big answer to the burning question.

So, rest worth it?? :rotfl2: Glad you had a great time!!!! Always an adventure with a child that age...let alone TWO!!!!! Oh, and do I smell a 'mini trippie'??? :rolleyes1 Welcome bak....we missed you!

It was worth it, but SHEESH am I paying for it now!

If I did a trippie, I don't think it would be very mini. I've got tons of pics and I can't shut up when it comes to racing. I'd have to stick it out on the TR Board or it would take up too much room here. Don't wanna be a thread hog... and I don't know if I should stick a "Tricia's Trip to Atlanta Motor Speedway" out there on the Uni TR Board. :confused3

I'm tired and I'm off to play Tooth Fairy. Yes, Joshua's front top tooth came out earlier. I'm sure the other one will be out tomorrow. He can actually sing the song, "All I Want For Christmas is My Two Front Teeth". Oh, did I mention that I have an appointment on Sunday for our annual Christmas family picture to be taken? :sad2:

Hey all! I am here. Don't have time to respond to everyone tonight but I wanted to say I WANT A TRIPPIE TRICIA!!!!!!! Pretty please!!!!!!

I have to go to court with dad tomorrow, get to meet with the lawyer an hour early to determine if he wants my sister & I to testify against the step monster.:headache:

Maybe I can get caught up with every thing Wednesday.

PLEASE TRICIA?????? I want to hear all about the race, especially since I didn't get to watch it myself.

Wait let me get this straight.....the Tooth Fairy isn't real??? :guilty:

Now my day is ruined.....

:rotfl:

T-minus four days til Champs!

Have a nice night everyone!

Thanks. It's not like it's a rare event or anything, but since Mac asked so nicely I thought I owed her the big answer to the burning question.

Well...jeez...I hope it's not "rare"....BUT, there IS something about "being alone with no kids" that does something "special" to it ;)

It was worth it, but SHEESH am I paying for it now!

Stick the trippie on the UO board....everyone elses trippies are there...Look at it this way...you have Disney OR Uni...you're a homie...stick it there popcorn:: And, glad to hear the tooth came out....what's the TF bringing? (Is it his first tooth?) Don't feel TOO bad about the family pic for Christmas...I can top that (unfortunately) ...Bubba lost a tooth a little while before school pics. Then, he had his first grade picture taken, 2 days later, the other front tooth fell out. And, to top the picture off, he has this really goofy smile on his face and with the teeth...looked like a jack-o-lantern :sad2: I actually begged him to do a "retake", but he wouldn't :guilty: (Awful picture of him...really.....) So, don't feel too bad....could always be worse....altho, I will admit, it's hard to adjust to looking at him that way, huh?

I have to go to court with dad tomorrow, get to meet with the lawyer an hour early to determine if he wants my sister & I to testify against the step monster.:headache:

Good luck....give 'em heck!

Wait let me get this straight.....the Tooth Fairy isn't real??? :guilty:

Now my day is ruined.....

You think THAT is bad....Santa's not real either! :thumbsup2 :lmao:

Ditto!

Mornin' homies! :wave2:

Not much time, but just wanted to say HI! before I go to work this morning.

We've got football again tonight, so I may not be around this evening. I hope there aren't any ugly mommas there tonight! I'm really glad my DH was there with me at the Saturday morning game because I really think that she thought that the kid that slung her kid around the field was MINE. I think I could have talked to the momma if she came over and got her to come to her senses, but I didn't want to risk gettin' my butt kicked. We have all sorts of that kind of stuff that goes on at work all the time. I work in a shipping/ receiving office in a production facilty and we have ALL kinds (which can all kidding aside really be fun) where I work. The other day, one of the supervisors (a friend of mine) came in my office and was giving our boss a heads up about a confrontation between two of her team members (that's what we are called where I work too) where one accidently bumped into the other.... I said "WOW, it's a good thing folks don't get mad at me every time I bump into them!" I'm pretty clumsy and I bump into people all the time (and I'm talking about these people and probably even the two that had words in particular). I think it may be all in how you handle yourself after the incident. I always smile and say I'm sorry and then ask them how they are doing. I've never had one jump my case...Why can't people just get along?

Have a GREAT day!

Fbean made 2 unassisted tackles last night on the running back. Other than that, the game was a blowout. the other team won 25-0 :sad2:

Last game of the season is Friday night and then we will be hanging up the pads for the season.

I think I did so well taking away Tricia's sickies that I scared them right into my immune system. Starting to get that "tastes like metal" cough. Have SO much laundry to catch up on and loads of housework to do today (never did it on Sunday:scared: )

Marcie - really liked your pictures and they were darned good coming from the cell phone :thumbsup2

Hope everyone has a great day!! :cool1:

Tracie,
Your fbean sounds a lot like my DS10 (Jacob). Jacob is all pumped up on football. He told me all he wants for Christmas is a kicking tee, a new football and pajamas..... Do you guys have any nutjob moms that holler crazy stuff like they need to quit being so rough? Tonight is our last game unless Jacob gets to play Allstars.

The reason I think this mom was thinking it was my kid was that she was saying, "She better not say anything...I'll kick her butt..." and was looking at ME.... My kid can tackle, but he can't sling someone like this kid did....

whadda yah mean, Santa aint real????????????
