Sadly, nearly ALL retail stores will be in full December Holiday mode as of today. Most of them skip right over Turkey Day, as if it doesn't even exist.

To Hades with that. I still abide by My Rule: if my b-day has not passed, then I don't want to hear ANYTHING about ( :santa: ).

Jodie - Sorry you ran out of candy, but it must be cool to have that many kids. We hardly get anybody here and I LOVE to have little ones enjoy my decorations and knock on my door.

Penny - I was at the grocery store this morning and, yep, Halloween is down, Christmas is up.

Jennifer - I don't wanna think about it. My little guys seem so big already. Those "outgrowing it" years are coming fast.

Katie - With or without the pic, Santa is sneaking up on us FAST!

Alison - How sweet that your son was worried about scaring others. My 2 y/o was nervous around some of the scary stuff, but he handled it pretty well and no bad dreams or anything. AND how cool for your other son to have such a good season of football. It's got to make him feel good that he stuck it out and they did so well!

Tracie - Those pictures are adorable! Even the doggie got a costume! Don't look now, but your oldest is GORGEOUS and the middle one is catching up fast! Joshua wants a Mario birthday party. Maybe you could send us Bean #3 for the day as a mascot?

Janet - If I follow in my mother's footsteps, I won't have long before "the change". She started menopause when she was 44. We spent the next couple of years wearing parkas in the house because she always kept the temp set to "meat locker".

Sharon - My old house had the lovely faux brick linoleum too. My house now? It doesn't matter what the flooring is. We can never see it for the scattering of toys, shoes, clothes, half eaten food...

DM - It's almost time to get the Easter decorations out, isn't it?

Did I catch up? Did I do good? Who'd I miss?

WHERE IS GEMMA? We need to see the "Vampire Vixen" shots!

Think i've had that floor at one time or another in one of my homes lol. Professionals (and i use the term loosely) put down an armstrong tile floor (the square time) a few years ago as a result of a broken pipe in the upstairs BR...the tiles are coming up already. Think we may tackle a ceramic one ourself after Xmas? how hard can it be:rolleyes1

DH and I have done a kitchen and two bathrooms. :cool1: It's not hard at all (except on the knees), make sure you use the plastic spacer thingys and rent a tile saw. You can do it! :thumbsup2
if you say so:lmao: , DHs gung ho; i'd like to see the other projects finished 1st

gemma's probably glued to Heather Mills, all over the tube; calling out Sir Paul:confused3

off to drag ma for flu shot; hope the line isn't long

this may happen a few times, as we only have 55 days until xmas...

Dear Santa
Thank you for the early present of shoving A-Rod out the door. did the door hit him in the &$$ on the way out? GOOD.

May we please have a new third baseman who is a team player and not above anyone else(present company excepted of course)
love, Penny
p.s. I will probably change my list again.:rolleyes

DM - It's almost time to get the Easter decorations out, isn't it?
Not yet. As soon as Jan1 hits, though it usually starts before the end of the year, Valentine's Day starts approaching. Feb 15 leads to Easter. Then 4th of July starts in April. Halloween usually starts after Labor day.

Or at least that's how I've seen it happen at many retailers.

Just stopping in quickly to say hi! We had lots of trick-or-treaters, but not enough to get rid of everything. Anyone in the last half hour got handfulls! I sorted my stuff around then - we hand out a lot of "non-candy" stuff - we had pencils, necklaces, sheriff badges, rabbits' feet, cars, balsa-type airplanes, rubber balls, paddleballs, and a ton of other stuff like that. At the end, just packed away a box of that stuff for next year and got rid of the candy!

I'll post pics when DH loads them in the computer. Ever since we got the new camera, I'm no longer computer literate on getting the pictures in! The 3 boys went out together very briefly, then DS15 came home and hung with his girlfriend, DS14 went out with a friend for about 15 more minutes and then they came over and hung out, and DS12 hooked up with his friends (who were all in costume on rollerblades - the best way to travel on Halloween  ) and stayed out the entire time. I asked him if anyone questioned his "Thing 3" costume (since he wasn't with Things 1&2 the whole time, but apparently no one cared or got it!

I went to Walgreens and Shopko this morning and there was literally NO candy left anywhere! Now there was tons yesterday when I was there, so where did it all go? One cart full of more stuff than candy - saw some lollipops and that was it, and everything else was Christmas already. I don't mind that like some of you do, but there should still be candy left for me to get half off! That's where I draw the line!

LOVED the Mario costume! Adorable!

Off to work - yippee! Talk to you guys later - hopefully with a pic or two!

Hellllooooo? Anybody home?

Usually when I am swamped all day, I come back here and there are 2 or 3 pages to catch up on. You guys all swamped too?

Anyway, I've got some pics from Halloween to share.

My guys helping to gut the pumpkins:

fantastic pics!:thumbsup2 very cute house (such a nicely landscaped yard - neat) & very professional looking pumpkins (and storm troopers too!) i'm starting to think you're a perfectionist (the anti-keisha lol)

marci - wow, that's a lot of goodies:)

dm - we should just party all the time:idea: , one big old holiday & $ to spend

have i mentioned i've got 30 days:banana: to go; doing the document dance today.:dance3:

AAUUGGHH! I passed my first truck full of Christmas trees leaving the area on my way to work today! Kind of funny being in an "exporting" area, rather than an importing one like we've always been before. Even if those trees are going down to Florida or something - it's still too early!

Tricia - we carved the exact same pirate pumpkin (our high school mascot is the Pirates) - guess we used the same website! I'm not sure DH got a picture of it or not, guess whenever he uploads them I'll find out! Oh, and love the missing teeth shot. Someday you'll treasure those!

Just noticed this the other day on DS14's cell phone. We got the phones when we moved here, about 16 months ago. He recorded his name for his greeting then. I had a message from him and when I played it, it plays his name in a normal voice, then it goes to his message in a MUCH deeper voice! I hadn't realized how much it had changed until then! Now I miss the cute "little kid" voices - only have one kid left who sounds like that! (He's also the only one shorter than me still!).

Janet - especially love the flamingo pumpkins! We used to go to the Detroit Zoo Boo each year when the kids were little and they'd always have zillions of pumpkin animals like that!

Greetings all....yes, I was "lurking" last night...but, not feeling at 100%, we dressed up and took Bubba out....for 2 hours! :faint: Would you believe someone gave him some candy AND a stuffed animal?!? :confused3 What is THAT all about??? Anywho...7.5 pounds of candy later...we were home. (And we didn't have 1 single trick or treater....but then again, we weren't home between 6:30 & 8:30 :rolleyes1 )

Loved the Mario costume :thumbsup2 awesome!!! Everyone's costumes & pumpkin carvings are great..they all look fab! Bubba is a kind of 'bare bones' (no pun intended) kinda guy...he doesn't go "all out".....
Halloween2007009Small.jpg

Keep in mind this was the costume 1/2 off cuz it was missing the hat and belt. All considering...he had fun!

And I am the anti-Janet...my house looks NOTHING like yours....fabulous job!!! You did great decorating..... (are you for hire?)

(Penny....did I miss something with A-Rod? :confused3 Is he gone??)

Joshua has a cute little face still....just more "jack-o-lantern mouth like" now..... Just be grateful he didn't lose them PRE-summer, like Bubba did.....the boy loves corn on the cob, and there was none in House of Bubba that summer :sad2:

Actually got a good night sleep last night...felt much better this morning :thumbsup2 (Amazing what a good night's rest will do!) Got all my work done at work today...with time to spare :rolleyes1 So, if you caught me, yes, I was lurking around her about noonish today

Gemma & Katie...can't wait to see yer pix!

Will have to go back and see who I missed...but I DID manage to get a few pumpkin decorations out yesterday before we went out.....

Have to check my mails...almost QT time w/ DH...Survivor & CSI...which is going to filter into Without A Trace tonite :guilty: .....think I'll skip the workout tonite....don't want to push myself and get sick again

i'm a siggie hog

Is it only ME who thinks this statement screams "TAG FAIRY"? :confused3

BM, I hate calling you that .... seems like I should be calling Tricia that instead  .... anyway, Barb, hope you start to feel better soon!

:rotfl2: that's okay...that's who I am....but, thanks...a good nights rest and I'm back to 98% :thumbsup2

Hey, one thing ... think I am getting a nasty sty in my eye. Does anyone get these? Anything homeopathic I can do for it?

Can't say I gets 'em, but maybe a good treatment would be to take a (sooner) vacation :rolleyes1

that's a funny joke! :rotfl2: Barb didn't like my cat/wal-mart/blonde joke. :sad2:

I liked it...just kinda "ooohhhhh" type thing.....

I still abide by My Rule: if my b-day has not passed, then I don't want to hear ANYTHING about ( :santa: ).

And have you reported your birthDAY into Momma Mac so we can all wish you a good day?

Oh...and Christmas trees.....already...even I am not ready for those..... Okay....think I'm "ketchup-ed" ;)

Janet - What a display! Your house should be on one of those HGTV shows! And super creepy Michael Myers-ish son on your roof. I hope all your Trick or Treaters enjoyed it.

Marcie - I have no idea what website I found the pumpkin carving thing on. I just googled it and printed the first one that was free and looked easy enough for me to do. I was shocked to find the Blues Clues one. Most of them have gotten fierce about the licensing infringements and all that crap.

Barb - Gotta love a man in uniform! I'm glad you are doing better and you survived the 2 hours of candy collections. Enjoy your workout-free QT time with hubby. Wait, that didn't sound right... whatever... you know what I mean... :rolleyes1

Thanks everyone for the great pics.

Tracie - Wow - that is a cool Super Mario costume. I wish I would have thought about that when DS was younger. :cool1:

My house now? It doesn't matter what the flooring is. We can never see it for the scattering of toys, shoes, clothes, half eaten food...
:rotfl2:

Marci - My son is also getting the deep voice. You don't seem to notice talking to them in person, but it is really noticeable on the phone. I was watching some a video of our trip to Disney in 1999 and I couldn't believe the voice. My 12 year old is 5'8. Since I am only 5'2 - he passed me a long time ago.

Janet - your house looks great. It looks like you did alot of hard work.

Also you guys are really good at carving those pumpkins.

Well, like Barb - I am going to watch Survivor.

Have a nice night everyone,
Jennifer

Janet - Wow - you have a tall 12 year old. I'm almost 5'9" and my 14 year old just got there. My 12 year old is barely 5 feet - how tall are you guys? DH is 6'2, so my kids do have "tall" genes, but they kick in all at once. Last summer, oldest DS went from 5'6 in Feb to 5'11 in August.

Anyways, some pics for you guys - we'll stick with the Halloween ones for now! First, the pic of my 3 "things!" Boy, does that sound appropriate! (Tricia, if you look closely, you can see the same pirate pumpkin on the left side of the porch!)

These 2 were getting kind of gummy, but it's an Apple logo and a triplet (music notes):

thanks for all the great remarks, i'll tell the old man:rolleyes1 ; he does most of the work; i'm more of an idea person lol. He was thinking about calling off work - really enjoys trick or treaters; this from a man who I had to cajol to miss when i was in labor with this son.popcorn:: talk about a weird work ethic lol

barb - bubba was some cute soldier:thumbsup2 ; didja eat too much candy jk, glad you're feeling better.

jennifer - another tall son in the group, bubba's another one who looks older due to height. My middle DS was always the biggest in this class, guess they're all different.

marci - your sons make great "things". There was a whole lotta pumpkins being sliced & diced @ your house:cool1: shhh, my youngest is 14 and vertically challenged; although he had a growth spurt and is now taller than me (5' 4" ish?). He's just thrilled to no longer be among the smallest kids in his class. It's weird, most of his classmates were 15 or 16 when the term started. You don't have to start your child until they're 7 in PA; odd trend of holding them back so they're smarter & bigger for sports.:confused3
