How is the food at Cape May Cafe dinner? We are looking for a sit down dinner on our arrival night. We are staying at The Beach Club and don't want to travel too far. We are doing Beaches and Cream another night. I will be dining with a teen and toddler. Don't want Italian. Thanks!

It’s a lot of fried fish & seafood , seafood boil, peel and eat shrimp. There’s a small kids section. I don’t think it’s worth the high price especially without the crab legs included anymore. I would look at Ale and Compass’s menu over at Yacht.

Ok thank you so much!

When I was there in September, Ale & Compass was a hit for us, and they were really kind to even seat us as it was right before closing (which I hate doing to restaurants and the staff). But it had been raining and we were desperately seeking something comforting and calm. It was delicious. Wish we had made time for a breakfast there, too.

Just as a counterpoint, I have always enjoyed the breakfasts and dinners at CMC. Is it worth the price? Probably not. Are there better options? Sure. But is it good which is what I think you want to know...then yes. Food quality and taste have always been above average for a buffet.

CMC was my favorite Disney restaurant for a long time. We ate there on my 9th b-day, shortly after it first opened. In the decades since, the price has swelled well above inflation while seemingly nearly all the main entrees became an upcharge.

IMO, CMC is an emblem of a typical Disney buffet: poor selection and average to above average quality. At $49 (dinner, we’re not breakfast people) it’s the least expensive Disney buffet but the selection (and lack of entertainment) reflects such.

IMO, no reason to eat here unless you’re emphasizing convenience.

In the distant past Cape May was good not for the crab legs but all at the buffet was good.
DVC had a 40% discount over in August so…. That is at best what it was worth. Someone had one of the meatballs from the kids section and let’s just say didn’t eat it….. the steamed clams are lower quality but decent enough to eat a lot of, the mussels were just not fresh… fried clam strips were lower quality but decent. The sides were and dessert are fine. Did not try anything non seafood so no comment. Coral reef although few items on the menu was far better as far as quality comparing the clams and mussels. Sorry to add to the eat elsewhere list of people… I would also avoid the CS at BC. The one at the YC is very limited but far better. For the sandwich’s like the meatball sub you are far better off at the BW deli. Something about that frosted case at BC CS that makes everything bad.
