Mornin' all.....anyone miss me???? (by the amount of yakin' yesterday, I'd say "no") You guys were awful quiet yesterday. I 'dreaded' to see how many "pages" i missed, but only about 1? :confused3

Of course you were missed. It really was quiet in here yesterday. I felt like I was all alone at times.

Can't wait to hear all about yesterday.

I'm back! Got home around 12:30 am last night. Very interesting mini-vacay....I will have to fill you in later....
Welcome home Katie. Can't wait to hear all about it.

And Tricia - I saw this in a catalog and for some reason it reminded me of you! I knew I had to share it with our homies! :rotfl:

Just here for a quick stop. The race is on and I'm gonna go check the standings. I hope everyone is having a great Sunday!

I missed the race. Can you fill me in?

I had to order a new CD/DVD drive for my comp. Dell.com was useless to me, so I went with Bestbuy.com

If you're wondering, I went to put RCT3 in the CD/DVD drive, and as the CD went in, there was a SNAP. The CD snapped into pieces. I spent about an hour trying to fix it. D'oh!

At least I have my laptop for CD/DVD purposes.

That stinks! :sad1:

fyi - the wolves took it on the chin Friday:sad1: ; Steelers kicked butt:banana:

off to finally read last few days of marci's report

Sorry bout the Wolves loss. Congrats on the Steelers win.

Hi all!
Back from the wedding weekend in Galena, IL(3hr drive from me).
Step-neice's wedding went well. My kids stayed at my parent's house over the weekend, so they didn't go to the wedding. It was nice to have alone time with my DH, as we hardly have date nights.

The drive to Galena was somewhat scary on Friday night, as there are no street lights and it was pitch dark for the second half of the drive, and driving thru many hills, as it is hilly and very curvy in the upper northwest end of Illinois. DH did do very well on the driving, as I was freaking out :scared1:
Sat. was real nice. Beautiful view from the restaurant windows of the hills and the Mississippi River.
The wedding reception last night was at the lodge we were staying at. The ceremony was a 45 min drive from the reception. So the bride and groom paid for a bus to transport some of us from the lodge to the little white wedding chapel they were getting married at. The bus ended up being a school bus, not a trolley like we thought  . But that's ok, it worked out well.
The wedding reception at the lodge went fairly well. Wedding dinner was very good and tasty! The music (DJ) was ok. It was very loud of course, during the dancing. The only bad thing I would say, was the choice of songs during the dancing/ party time of the reception. Hardly any slow songs to slow dance to, maybe one slow dance song. The rest of the songs were rap/ hip hop, almost gangster rap songs(to me at least) or heavy metal rock songs. :rockband: That was basically it for song selection :sad2: Ok, the Cha Cha Slide song was really the only one that was decent, as DH and I danced to that one. The bride likes to party with her girlfriends, so I guess her and her groom must have picked these certain drinking party songs for their friends. Lots of college-aged folks drinking on the dance floor :drinking1 :drinking:
Not a good mix of songs for all ages, just catered to the college-age crowd.
One song that was played was kinda vulger to DH, I, and SIL. Alot of b**ch and f*** in the song, and there were little kids on the dance floor dancing to this :scared: :scared1:

Sounds like a wonderful wedding. I really wish kids would think when they invite different age groups to things. But of course you can't tell them anything!

Glad your home safely.

lori - did they play gangster's paradise?:rotfl: Coolio's finest moment lol it's one of the classics on my ipod, along with What is Love?-Hadaway. my taste in music is schizo @ best i'm afraid

the trip to the wedding - lori's wild ride (homage to Mr. Toad, ony u survived:thumbsup2 )

I missed the race. Can you fill me in?

Clint Bowyer won his first Nextel race. Jeff Gordon finished second. Tony Stewart was third. Kyle Busch, Truex Jr, Jimmie Johnson, and Matt Kenseth were 4-7, and that's it for the top finish folks that are in the Chase. Gordon & Johnson are tied in the Chase lead now, followed by Tony Stewart, but thanks to the win Bowyer is now fourth in the Chase standings.

Give me a headset and a mic and I'm ready for my post-race closeup. ;)

Don't know if I have ever posted any pics of my kiddos. Here is Ally cutting here cake at Chef Mickey's on her birthday, Dec. 23rd:

Donald was very funny, stuck the knife in Mickey's head. Ally had been to the BBB for her b'day present just before we went to dinner. Of course we then went right back to the hotel and she got in the pool. So much for that high dollar hair do & make up!

This is Chris, my oldest son. He got put in jail at the Whispering Canyon Cafe during Christmas dinner because we told them it had been raining ever since he had arrived. Of course it then stopped as soon as he left for home too.

And this is something I never do...

A pic of all of us, at least those of us that were there for Christmas

I'm gonna bore you all with one more. This is a big family trip we took in the summer of 05. There were 24 of us all together. It was the most amazing trip we have ever taken.

The girl holding the baby is my daughter Miranda & the baby is my granddaughter Madison. Unfortunately the jerk in front of them is soon to be ex-sil.

While I'm trying to upload the VA pics onto the comp, I'm gonna add some more from my FL trip.

This is a possible site for the reception...

Katie - I love that place. Of course I have only seen it through the gates that are always locked.

Lori - You have a beautiful family! I thought we had a big group for our Grand Gathering breakfast at Tony's in MK, but... WOW... nothing like that! It must have been fun to have a crowd like that. :goodvibes

Katie - That looks like a great spot for a reception. You with the swim stuff and a spot with the under-the-sea theme? Sounds like a match to me! :thumbsup2

Haven't read anything to catch up and post reply to .... YET ... (so, no flamin'), but DH just let me know, he posted Ry's first goal of the season (it was the 2nd game [Sat.] and it was the teams 3rd goal in a 6-0 final (we won!) When the video starts, the ball will come out away from the goal and Ry will be running in from the right side of the screen and kick it in (he's #40 on the blue team).......(he flubbed it a bit, he said it went in off his lower shin.... :confused3 ....meh, goal is a goal! :thumbsup2 )

We had a great time! Gotta love that DVC. I provided the rooms for the family. There were 24 of us all together and 5 generations.
