Just here for a quick stop. The race is on and I'm gonna go check the standings. I hope everyone is having a great Sunday!
I missed the race. Can you fill me in?
I had to order a new CD/DVD drive for my comp. Dell.com was useless to me, so I went with Bestbuy.com
If you're wondering, I went to put RCT3 in the CD/DVD drive, and as the CD went in, there was a SNAP. The CD snapped into pieces. I spent about an hour trying to fix it. D'oh!
At least I have my laptop for CD/DVD purposes.
That stinks!
fyi - the wolves took it on the chin Friday; Steelers kicked butt

Sorry bout the Wolves loss. Congrats on the Steelers win.
Hi all!
Back from the wedding weekend in Galena, IL(3hr drive from me).
Step-neice's wedding went well. My kids stayed at my parent's house over the weekend, so they didn't go to the wedding. It was nice to have alone time with my DH, as we hardly have date nights.
The drive to Galena was somewhat scary on Friday night, as there are no street lights and it was pitch dark for the second half of the drive, and driving thru many hills, as it is hilly and very curvy in the upper northwest end of Illinois. DH did do very well on the driving, as I was freaking out![]()
Sat. was real nice. Beautiful view from the restaurant windows of the hills and the Mississippi River.
The wedding reception last night was at the lodge we were staying at. The ceremony was a 45 min drive from the reception. So the bride and groom paid for a bus to transport some of us from the lodge to the little white wedding chapel they were getting married at. The bus ended up being a school bus, not a trolley like we thought. But that's ok, it worked out well.
The wedding reception at the lodge went fairly well. Wedding dinner was very good and tasty! The music (DJ) was ok. It was very loud of course, during the dancing. The only bad thing I would say, was the choice of songs during the dancing/ party time of the reception. Hardly any slow songs to slow dance to, maybe one slow dance song. The rest of the songs were rap/ hip hop, almost gangster rap songs(to me at least) or heavy metal rock songs. That was basically it for song selection
Ok, the Cha Cha Slide song was really the only one that was decent, as DH and I danced to that one. The bride likes to party with her girlfriends, so I guess her and her groom must have picked these certain drinking party songs for their friends. Lots of college-aged folks drinking on the dance floor

Not a good mix of songs for all ages, just catered to the college-age crowd.
One song that was played was kinda vulger to DH, I, and SIL. Alot of b**ch and f*** in the song, and there were little kids on the dance floor dancing to this![]()

Sounds like a wonderful wedding. I really wish kids would think when they invite different age groups to things. But of course you can't tell them anything!
Glad your home safely.

. But that's ok, it worked out well.
