Somebody Stop Me!

Ok, I gave up all sweets and desserts except for birthdays and holidays. I've been craving chocolate cake since september when I made this deal with myself. So, I made my favorite for Christmas, chocolate cake with white icing. I ate a slice, heck I even had two slices last night. However, today is not a holiday and I have at least half a cake left.

I REALLY REALLY want some!!! I hope that I can muster up some will power and chuck it in the garbage, but odds are I'll finish this post and go GET ME A SLICE!!

AHHHHHH......HELP!!!!

Ok Joats, pick that cake up and RUN don't walk to the garbage and dump it right in there. Better still if there is someone with you who can dump it have them do it, so that you're not tempted on the way. If you can't bring yourself to do that what about putting the rest of the cake in the freezer and having some next week for New Years! That way you are still having the cake for a special occassion. Good luck and PD :wizard: for you. Hang in there

We all have cravings and giving in to those cravings once in a while is not a bad thing.
But now you have satisfied the craving, so throw the rest of the cake away.

I know, I know throw it away sounds so wrong to do when so many people around the world don't have enough to eat- and all the time you spent making that glorious cake- but DO IT!!! It's JUST a cake- you tasted it yesterday- it won't taste any better today- and you can make another one at Easter! Just think you could lose 20+ pounds between now and Easter- start TODAY!

I had a cinnabon monster in my house ( my hubby bought an 6-pack fresh from the oven) everyone told me to throw it out- I just couldn't see depriving my kids/husband of their special treat. I served it, heated it for them and never took a bite. But I WISH I had thrown it out- because the mental struggle it took to AVOID all bites was horrible- and the kids would never have known anyway. THROW IT OUT THROW IT OUT- use your triceps, biceps, and pectoral muscles and give it one big SLAM into the trash- then scream " 2 POINTS "!!!!!

YOU CAN DO THIS!!!!!

Can't wait to see how much you lose between now and Easter and we'll all enjoy a piece of chocolate cake in honor of this day! :)

I am glad that you got to have your sweets during the holiday, but you are right today is a new day. I have read on the board at sometime or another that someone took the item and put it in the sink and ran water over it. It was much easier for them to throw it away after that. Just a thought. You can do it, you can do it, just keep chanting that line:D .

Thank you everybody, but I'm ashamed to say I gave in to the urge and did have a piece of cake. I'm so embarrassed of myself, but will not harp...just will throw it out!! What is done, is done and CAKE BEGONE!! SLAM DUNK into the trash!

Thank you for all of your kind words and support! I knew I'd come to the right place. I may have eaten a piece this morning, but you've saved me from eating a piece at lunch and dinner!!

Oh by the way TammyNC I think the post you are referring to was actually my post about getting rid of all the ice cream containers in my house by pouring hot water on them in the sink and watching the ice cream melt away while smelling it's chocolatey goodness! Perhaps I should reread my own September post!!

Thanks fellow WISHers...YOU ROCK!!

Joats, you have been doing great!! Think of what you have accomplished so far!! You have been resisting that urge for cake since September!! And you have rewarded yourself with a beautiful 15 pound clippie!!! That cake is no match for someone who can do all that!!!

I agree with everyone else, toss that cake right in the trash can!!
Or maybe you have a neighbor or relative who would enjoy it. Yesterday, we took a big tin of chocolate chip cookies to my DH's elderly uncle. They are out of the house so they won't tempt me and he loved getting some homemade sweets.

You can do this, Joats!!!! Get rid of that cake!!!!

Joats, don't worry about it...we all go through those cravings at one time or another! Today is another day and I agree, throw that cake away...don't give it another thought! :)

Hope today is a great day for you! :)

I know how you feel! I made home baked cookies for my kids to take back to college and I ate cookie dough, warm cookies and cold cookies for two days. Not as much as I would have in the "old" days, but certainly more than I intended. It was impossible to stop at one bite! I was shocked at myself because I have been very, very good for 11 months - this is the first major slip up.

Luckily, it's all over now - everything is packed into cans and either gone or about to go.

Good for you for drawing the line and stopping the cake frenzy! :)
