Some guest were really upset with not getting any housekeeping!

1 & 2 was done on Day 4. 3 & 5 was not restocked. 4 still had enough for the time being. Wasn't a big deal but felt like a light version. I kinda just assumed they're trying to limit exposure for both staff and guests by getting in and out quickly, then if guests need anything they can call and get those supplies handed at the door.

For stays of 7 nights or fewer, Trash & Towel Service is provided on Day 4. Your check-in day is Day 1. With Trash & Towel Service, Housekeeping will:
  1. Empty trash and replace liners in trash bins
  2. Provide fresh bathroom linens
  3. Replace bath amenities as needed
  4. Replenish facial tissues, paper towels and toilet paper
  5. Replenish coffee, sugar, cream and sweeteners

I know the procedure... the question someone asked was ‘Is the DVC is doing the normal stuff on 4th and 8 th days? Or is that "light" housekeeping too?’ You replied light. I stated the reason you didn’t get a full cleaning on Day 4 is because you stayed less than 8 days.

I'm just saying why I considered it light from my recent experience. It was less than normal on Day 4.

The stuff in the resorts doesn't bother me too much, but the TP in the parks is AWFUL. It's like half ply.
I WHOLEHEARTEDLY AGREE!

Its like they got the cheapest 1-ply out there! And you have to wind it around your hand to get a thick enough pile to do the job!

:rolleyes2

If we have the slightest sniffle before we leave, I throw a box of puffs plus into the suitcase.
Disney tissues can be used to sand down a table. Ok if you need a tissue or two, but not for blowing your nose 20 times in one day.
I find myself bringing packs and packs of tissues! I have allergies and my nose tends to run and there is no way my delicate nose could stand a rough tissue..

Come to think of it I might just be as high maintenance as my DH - since both my nose AND my tushy are delicate!

:rotfl2:

I think if a poll was made asking the DVC crowd what already stocked items people still bring their own, toilet paper would come out ahead of coffee and toiletries combined. Lol, it's an important way to start the day :)
Don't you know it!

and I do bring my own coffee too - even if we don't use it all but I can't see getting up the first morning and realize that mousekeeping forgot to refill our coffee allotment and having to break that news to DH! Lucky for me he drinks it black so I don't have to worry about coffee or creamer!

:rolleyes1 :rolleyes1

So, Disney is only offering housekeeping every other day and also an option of no housekeeping at all. But this no longer comes with a gift card offer?

We were a cash stay DVC 7 nights twice this year and never got a full cleaning on the 4th day. We just got towels every other day and coffee. I think it's a money-saving policy and using Covid to justify it. There is really no reason why the housekeepers can't put on some PPE and clean your room.
I agree In the beginning when they were bringing back CM's I get it. It is a service that we have gotten used to with Hotels. I enjoy coming back to a freshened up room it's part of Vacation for me.

Has anybody dared to walk down the aisle on a cruise ship and glance into the “staterooms”? Can be pretty shocking so yes some people need daily service a lot!

We stayed 9 nights/10 days in August at Riviera. No full housekeeping at at 4 days--only "light".

I actually asked when checking in and they told us full clean at 4 days. On Day 4, I called and asked before leaving for the park (just so we knew if we should stay out a bit longer) if we were to receive a full cleaning that day, and they said absolutely. Place was spotless when we came back, everything replenished, new towels, beds made, dishes washed, etc. Was at SSR.

I wonder if it has changed since August... certainly I did not enjoy changing out my sheets myself (discovered Disney apparently does not have fitted sheets which makes it kind of a PITA to switch out). We did not opt out of housekeeping or anything, but I was definitely told "no" on the phone when I asked if they could change the sheets because it had been 5 days at that point.

I suppose it is like anything else these days, very inconsistent.

This is one reason we chose to spend most of our July WDW trip at Four Seasons Orlando. They still offered full daily housekeeping (including turn-down service) and room service dining, and we appreciated it. I added a before & after day at the Poly, but since those were one-night stays, never had to deal with a lack of housekeeping.

$500-ish per night is really steep for no housekeeping.
