Some guest were really upset with not getting any housekeeping!

I was at Pop for 11 nights in December and they didn’t make or change them either. I won’t call for linens because they use flat sheets for the bottom sheet and I can’t get those on the bed so they stay. I wish they would do the beds once if your stay was over a certain number of nights, say a week.

lol, we changed a bed over Thanksgiving and battled with that flat sheet the rest of the stay. It was not worth it for clean sheets. 🤣

Well, I use a fresh towel every shower because in Florida they don’t always dry and get a musty smell overnight. If I am in a hurry, I will use two, and wrap my wet hair with one and use the other to dry off. But I don’t reuse towels. Perhaps in a drier climate a person could use a towel more than once.

Sounds like a ventilation issue in your bathroom. I’m in southeast Louisiana and do not have this issue.

Three towels per shower each?? At possible multiple showers per day? Holy cow! You must have huge water and detergent bills! You do realize you are CLEAN when you use them, right? LOL
We use one for our hair and body and put one on the floor to step out on. It is a splurge, yes. But it is something that as long as I can afford to, I will enjoy it. Not a huge water bill, but ya, I do go through the detergent every week, lol.

I live in Florida as well, about 20 minutes outside of Disney. And hang my towel up everyday and it's perfectly dry again by the next morning.

They make bath mats that dry that you step out on that you don't have to change out every shower! They also have Turbie Twists for hair that dry really fast when hung up so you wouldn't always have to use a big bulky towel!

To me that would be wasteful of resources, not because I can't afford it, but to save water. But to each his own!

The problem with that is, if we put a bath math down, my cat will pee on it every single time. It is like she thinks we put it down there just for her.

Do you know of a single hotel that charges for housekeeping? Plenty of them charge for parking.
Sure, DVC resorts if you want extra services. But they aren't hotels, just timeshares.
When we stayed at Poly in September we did not receive service. When I called housekeeping they told me I opted out which I know I didn’t. I spoke with the front desk and they confirmed I did not opt out and apologized. I really only needed clean towels and more coffee supplies. My CR/YC stay in November I always saw the carts but never got service there either. It was 3 nights at each resort so I’m not sure if that didn’t qualify for every other day. I called down for more coffee supplies and towels. We didn’t make much trash. There was only 2 of us and plenty of cans in the room. I did notice way more trash in the hallways and some sat for a while.
If you stayed at the Polynesian in September 2020, you stayed in the villas. Were you staying on a DVC reservation? Three nights means you don't get towels or supplies replaced unless you specifically call Housekeeping and request them. Three nights means the day you check out would have been your light cleaning day. But you should have had the trash removed every day. If you paid cash directly to Disney and not for a DVC reservation, you should have had your light cleaning service on your third day at least.

We just returned on Friday from three nights at BWV. Our trash was removed every day while we were out of the villa. We'd leave around 11 or 12 and return about 5 or 6 and the trash would be gone. With DVC, we take care of our villa like we take care of our home. We make our bed every day and hang up our towels and reuse them. I do notice (living in SW FL) that our towels sometimes are damp at night when I take my shower during winter month. Probably because we don't turn on the heat unless it gets really cold outside and that might only be a few days each year. AC dries the towels nicely. Heat dries the towels nicely. No heat or AC means the towels might stay dampish.

Is the DVC is doing the normal stuff on 4th and 8 th days? Or is that "light" housekeeping too?

I haven't had any longer than four nights since Jan 2020. For our four night trip in Oct and Nov, we got trash and towel service as usual. Haven't had an eight night stay for at least three or four years so I can't comment on full cleaning on day 4.

On our 4th night in November we received a normal full cleaning... everything replenished, cleaned, beds made, etc.

We were a cash stay DVC 7 nights twice this year and never got a full cleaning on the 4th day. We just got towels every other day and coffee. I think it's a money-saving policy and using Covid to justify it. There is really no reason why the housekeepers can't put on some PPE and clean your room.

It did seem long, but then I don't wash my own sheets at home that often either, so I guess it's not so bad. Over 14 days would be questionable.

Disney (and most hotels) give you a bath mat towel, do you at least reuse that?

Light.

Our 4th Day was the only time they changed out our towels during a 6 night stay at BCV. They didn't ever restock the empty coffee or cups/plates, or go near the beds. If you call they seem happy to bring stuff quickly but you need to reach out first.

Covid will be used to justify a lot of things.

You only get a full cleaning service with DVC stays if your trip is 8 nights or longer. You would have received a full cleaning on day 4 if that were the case.

You take your cat to a Disney resort? We also just hang ours up ( even at Disney ) and live in Fl.
