Some guest were really upset with not getting any housekeeping!

It's the unions and the agreements made. Complain to them , not Disney. I guess from the comments on this thread a lot of you will no longer stay at a Disney resort due to the amount , or lack of, housekeeping. Right?
Well, Wyndam Bonnet Creek is on my radar.

Please be gentle, I only read page one! This makes me question how clean things will be overall in the future there. Without regular cleanings and different people staying there doesn’t it make sense a lot of germs aren’t getting cleaned?

Rooms are deep cleaned between guests. And Covid does not survive on surfaces very long in any case. This has no real effect on safety for anyone—it’s just cost cutting.

We're renting a 1br at BWV for 8 nights starting tomorrow. Just so I'm clear, do we have to request full housekeeping on day 4? And if we need more coffee, towels, TP or laundry detergent, we can call and have it brought to the room, right?

Personally, I prefer it. I like the comforter and top sheets untucked when I sleep, and don't like them remade. I set my pillows just how I like them for my back, and don't like them changed. I'm a bit of a burrowing animal when I sleep. For long stays, a couple of times of servicing my room is fine, and if I have to bag my own trash and set it out to keep my burrow unsettled, then I'm good.

FWIW, I did not have to set any trash out in the hall (disgusting IMHO) during my stay at the Poly the 12th-17th. I did not have housekeeping by choice, but when whoever did the security check came in they emptied the trash cans and removed the bags with trash from carryout from Capt Cook’s. From inside the room. No need to clutter the hallways with it. (Though people did.)

I responded on your other thread. Seven nights or less, you get trash/towels on day 4. Eight nights or more, you get full cleaning on day 4 and trash/towel on day 8. If you need additional supplies, just call Housekeeping.

I got back a couple of weeks ago and they were telling people(me included) to just put trash bags out in the hall. They were doing an excellent job of picking them up right away. This was the Yacht Club. I have no problem with it when the hotel monitors and picks up the trash right away.

Only that was not happening at the Poly. There were times I went to bed and people's stinky bags were in the hall and left in the morning and their stinky bags were still there.
It was absolutely no problem to leave them in the room as they were never there 24 hours thanks to the security check where all the trashcans were emptied.

They really need to bring housekeeping back daily for what they charge. It’s not about safety it’s cost cutting. Four seasons and ritz and now even some Marriott properties can clean rooms daily so why can’t Disney? ive stayed at both Yacht Club and Grand Floridian since reopening and the deep clean between guests is a joke. Had to switch rooms due to it not being properly clean. They need to get on the ball and bring resort staffing back to normal because lots of Guests are complaining.

That is not good and completely on the hotel. Did you say something to the manager at the time? My trip was very recent and maybe they are realizing this needs to be done, or it could be hotel management issue. Either way, I know that I was specifically told, and overheard others told, to just leave the trash outside our rooms and they were all picked up quickly.

No - I was never over at Pago Pago. I was there the 12th-17th.

Of course people were leaving strollers and such in the halls also, often the same people. So it could just be they don’t care about cluttering it up for everyone else.

It's cost cutting. I was at an AI last summer, housecleaning each day if you wanted it, and at the Bellagio in December, again, cleaning each day. We have reservations at WL for December, and it the rooms aren't being cleaned each day we will not go. I make my bed and deal w/ trash every day at home, sort of dumb to pay WDW holiday prices to do housework.

We are recently back from a cash stay at BCV (Feb & Jan) and housekeeping was a disaster for both trips. They were supposed to come every other day with towels, supplies (coffee, cream, toilet paper, shampoo etc)and it just didn't happen. We'd call and they'd bring towels and coffee but then after day three we may need cream, sugar and TP so called again and then they bring those things and then day four they didn't show and we were back to needing towels and coffee. I dealt with it on the Jan trip but I finally thought at $800 a night I need to speak to a housekeeping manager. She was great to speak to and we just said we only want what we should get every other day service. So what happens for the next three days we get service every day and then it stopped completely for the next three days. I don't know what else we could have done. The message is definitely not getting to the housekeepers or they are picking and choosing what to do. The funny part was that we met several groups at the pool over our 12 days and all were having some kind of trouble with housekeeping and we would joke about who would have to call and who would get service. You're on vacation you shouldn't have to worry if there is going to be TP in you room.

When you are in a hotel the only time that guests do not recieve housekeeping service is during holidays like Thanksgiving and Christmas and they will notify guests of this by placing a note on their room doors. But at some hotel chains "Best Western is one of them" the housekeepers actually will make the beds and put clean bedding and even replace pillows too when guests check out. Why I think Disney is doing this is because they are simply trying new ideas to make guests have a comfortable stay and I can bet they will continue to do this once the pandemic's over because one thing you have to make sure when you have housekeeping staff service your room is to hide your stuff so the maids won't steal it but making your own bed actually works because when you want to have a full day to relax and rest without housekeeping waking you up and pestering you about getting your room serviced. So this new system might work miracles for Disney vacationers. I wonder how the housekeepers are feeling about this new housekeeping rule that Disney now has for it's resorts?

I for one am glad they are cutting down on housekeeping coming into the rooms. The fewer people the better.

But I do think they should make it optional. Maybe a spot on on line check in to check if you want houskeeping or not. I'm also wondering though if they are really struggling to find people willing to do the cleaning?
