Soda Stream Party..

We have had a soda stream for well over 18 months. My husband is the heaviest soda drinker in the family and he uses it all the time. We buy the cherry cola flavor, root beer, lemon lime, orange, energy, fountain mist, cream soda, and just recently the peach tea. We really love having it. We go through tons of soda and the canister lasts us between 5-7 weeks between exchanges. There are 4 people in our house and we all use the soda stream at least once a day. I love mixing up the flavors too. Some strawberry energy drink mixed with lemon lime, or right now I am drinking half peach tea mixed with lemon lime.. We can use them for parties, mixed drinks or just for regular day to day.

We have one here as well. I used Staples rewards to buy mine so it was free. It's the basic, entry level machine. And keep using the rewards for the canister refills and syrups.

I am a Diet Coke addict and the SS diet coke isn't far off. I use a little less syrup than they say and carbonate an extra squeeze(because I like fountain drinks). I thik the SS is a little less sweet than the real Diet Coke in cans/bottles.

The syrup refills are usually $5.99 or $9.99 depending on the size. Gas cartridges are $30 unless you do the exchange- then they run about $20.

I think we come out ahead in the long run on price.

We also keep a stock of the syrups for entertaining- tonic, ginger ale, pink grapefruit (love this!), lemon lime- beats making a drink only to find the tonic water is flat.

I was looking for the syrup bottles and found them on Macy.com for $4.99 each on sale. I might have to stock up on some!

I got my Soda Stream yesterday and had to test it out since I will be demoing it on Saturday. I got a bath the first time, and then my 13 year old showed me how to use it. I made the orange and Mountain Mist. I am pretty happy with both.

Wow, I've only managed to get one house party ever and it was no where near as cool as yours! I always forget to go to that site and apply!
I have been looking at these machines for over a year now and just have not been able to justify the cost.
If you do have any rebates left over I would would LOVE one!

They offered this party twice. I didn't make the first round but got it in the second. The price is going down slowly as it does with new technology. I have seen a new machine as low as $80.00 at Best Buy. My plan was to use my reward certificates to get it but this is one Xmas gift I can cross off the list.

I am taking a bottle of the Crystal Lite lemonade with me to school today.

I really want one but I hate to sink that kind of money into something without tying it first! I wish they did in-store demos somewhere!

They do at Costco. I just tried it this weekend and was leary, but it was really tasty and there it's made with real sugar. I really liked it because you can make your own peligrino's with it! I am considering getting one.

I declined the party because the syrups ALL have splenda in them, even the non-diet varieties. There are only 3 "natural" syrups w/o splenda and they are $12.99! Why use spenda in "regular" sodas?? I cannot have splenda at all due to heath reasons, so this is a major thing. At a demo at Macy's they never said the samples all had splenda until one person asked about diet flavors, then the truth came out. I even asked if it was artificially sweetened and was told no. had 2 oz and had a major reaction.

So, considering I only drink Club Soda - major Diet Coke addiction that I kicked 2 years ago - so that is my "soda" now, would this be cost effective?

How many 2 ltr bottles can you typically make with one canister? I would not be purchasing any syrups.

Ballpark anyone? Club Soda is typically less than 80 cents per 2 ltr.

I assume they either kicked me out, or folded or something as I have not heard a peep since I they went to their new prize giveaway system or whatever it is they did.

Bump! My Soda Stream party is about to start in a hour and 45 minutes I got to put together some goodie bags and made some 7 layer taco dip. I am hyped up on the Soda Stream energy drink. If you are having a party today, I hope you have a great time!
