Soarin' w/ small children

My DD6 is the biggest ride chicken on the planet. She has never been afraid of Soarin'. She rode it for the first time when she was four. I feel like most kids would be okay at three, just judging by her. (She still doesn't like PP or Dumbo, so she really is afraid of most rides.)

I took my son at 3 1/2 and he loved it. I took him at 10 and he thought it was boring. I say get them on it as soon as possible.

On our trip in December, my daughter was 3 (March birthday, so an older 3, but 3). She JUST met the 40 inch requirement and soarin' was her first "big girl" ride. I was nervous to take her on it, but my husband insisted, and she's OBSESSED. That child made me ride Soarin' about 7 times. Although, as it turns out, she's fearless...she rode any ride she could get on. BTMR with no hands!

My older daughter, who hates roller coasters and won't ride the mine train, loves Soarin and has from as soon as she could ride it. It's one of her favorites. My younger one, who was newly 4 on our last trip, loves roller coasters and is a huge daredevil. She hated it and refuses to ride it again. She just did not like that sensation. You just never know. It's worth a try, though.

My oldest rode it when she was 3.5 for the first time and really liked it.

Does anyone know if they will allow a child under the 40" height requirement with an adult? We will be there in October with all 4 of our children and the youngest is 2 1/2 but loves going on rides especially if her sisters are going....so...I was wondering if she can ride with me? I've never been on this ride so I don't know how she would sit in the seats or if I could hold her.

No. No lap sitting. Must be 40 inches. I recommend rider swap.

My daughter loved everything except for two things: the golf ball coming straight at you and the loudness of the fireworks. Now that it has a new video, I don't know if there are scenes like the ones I mentioned or not.

My 4yr old LOVED Soarin and declared it his favorite ride at Epcot. He is terrified of 3D and 4D movies. I was worried but tried it and it was a hit. His daredevil 6yr old sister hated it. You never know.

If you/ he is afraid of the height factor, see if you can ask to sit in the lowest row. Dangling feet may be annoying but at least its not that high up

Thanks for all the advice...I'll try when I get there...maybe they'll let her on

If she is under 40in, they will not even let her in the line with you, much less on the ride.

Period. No exceptions.

The height requirements are for their safety and how the harnesses are designed, not to keep them from being scared.

Shouldve clarified, I said that with the assumption that your child met the ride height requirement. I was looking at it from the standpoint that your child would be afraid of the ride.

My oldest went on it for the first time when he was 4 years old and he loved it. No fear at all.

Safety is absolutely my biggest concern. I have never been on it so I have no clue about the ride. I thought it was just an interactive ride that maybe I could hold her. I didn't realize your feet are dangLing and everyone has their own harness. Thanks for all the replys...we'll be sitting this one out :) good to know so that I can find something to distract her with while their all on and I wouldn't waste a fast pass on both of us.

Both of my older grandsons rode it when they were 3 (met the height requirements) and they loved it! Taking the newest 3 and 4 year old in December for their first ride on it.

Has anyone ever taken a 3 year old onto Soarin? I am curious, with a child that meets the 40" height requirement, if this is an appropriate ride for a child that is 3? I know all children are different and react differently, I was hoping people could share their experiences taking a small child onto this ride.

They have a submarine belt for smaller children so they can't wiggle out of the seat. When our son was that age and rode Soarin' with us, we put him in between the adults and held his hand throughout the ride. He loved it.
