So what bothers you at WDW that may not bother anyone else???

TBH we do this too, except when a CS restaurant is insanely crowded. It's the old "hunter/gatherer" gene at work: two of us go get the food while the other two take a load off at the table for a few extra minutes.
Exactly. I'm not sure why people find this annoying. I guess cause they are me me attitude. I don't know. It comes down to if you snooze you lose. Disney is too crowded for me to give up an empty table with my crowd. People can judge me. I don't care. There has been plenty of times I parked my butt on the castle and had a picnic. I don't need a table or chair myself. But for those in my party that do. Then I get it for them.

I say it's just bad planning on you if you don't get a table. Its not my fault you waited. Lol image.jpgimage.jpg

We try to not have anything rattle us but do have a couple of peeves:
First have to say it, strollers. Strollers bigger than our first car. Why in heavens, unless you have an infant, or a special needs child, would you not just bring an umbrella stroller or two if needed? Worked well for us many times and much more respectful of others on the buses and in the parks. Tied to that is people who expect the bus driver to carry their double wide stroller on the bus. Seen it happen many times.
Other peeve...I use a transport wheelchair due to a not visible injury. Just use it for long distances. We fold it up like a stroller and hubby carries it on the bus. Minor peeve...we get on a bus where all seats get taken before we board. Now we could back out and get off which creates chaos, or wouldn't it be nice if someone more able bodied sees the couple with a wheel chair and maybe offers a seat? Just plain courtesy. Yes it is our choice to stay on the bus, but really people? I must say that a few times we have had someone offer their seat which is very kind but just as often we see seats taken up by pretends whi I suspect could stand.
At the end of the day our motto is do the right thing. Would be nice to see everyone think of each other that way.

#1 Many, if not most, umbrella stroller are not comfortable to push for days at a time. The handles are too short for all but petite people, and they are not very sturdy.

#2 The buses are what they are, public transportation. People are allowed to bring on strollers, as long as they are within Disney's size restrictions. Also, as you are someone who needs a wheelchair from time to time, you should realize that it is not always readily apparent who needs a seat and who doesn't. People probably guess that if you fold up your wheelchair and walk on you are fine to stand. Shows what judging without knowing details does, right?

Agreed. Well stated.

It completely drives me nuts that people on the DIS call the Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique the "Bippity Boppity boutique". HATE it.

Also, when people add an S to the end of the name of a restaurant. I had a friend who would ask me if I wanted to grab lunch at Subway's. Ohana's. Boma's.

Drives me insane! :crazy2:

Maxiesmom, my point on strollers is that is is a pet peeve to me (and isn't that what this thread is about) that parents bring large strollers which often then end up banging unto others, taking up space by seats and require bus driver assistance. That said, they do have the right to bring them, just as I have the right to find them annoying. I just know when my kiddos were young that the sturdy umbrella strollers were the way to go. I was not " judging without knowing details" as I know there are some children who need the larger strollers. And I do acknowledge that no one should feel compelled to give up a seat to me and I do not expect it. On days when I am in more pain, we wait. It is my choice what I do, but I can tell you that I am ever appreciative when someone makes that connection and does offer a seat.

What about Narcoossee's, Boardwak Joe's, Victoria & Albert's, McDonald's, Chili's, Carrabba's....? Does that bother you too. Ha Ha. :)

people in lines who decide ti move forward before the people in front of them so they are standing so close to you they are actually touching you.

people who sit on the sidewalk at least an hour before parades and glare at you if you need to cross the road.

people with back packs who step back or turn without looking and hit shorter people in the face

Happy to hear your doing better And hope it continues for a long time.
Been there, getting better but still don't think I can do all that walking at Disney. May still have to use the scooter, but will try parking outside the rides and waiting in the lines with others to see how it goes. Thank the universe and science for the technology to be able to get around when you can barely walk!

Same. I'M relieved we're not on the dining plan, too. That was an extra level of planning ... to eat stuff we didn't really want ... and NOT order stuff we DID really want.
Way more flexibility when not on the dining plan! I get to go to a sit down lunch and a sit down dinner...whooohooo! But I do get the reason it saves people tons of money. I'm glad it's available!

I must not be up on euphemisms here, by 'pooky' do mean you've seen someone taking a dump in a urinal?

Wow...I've been inlightened! I've never heard of this. Does it happen often?

Some of the comments about scooters and the disabled are really disheartening. Last trip we were with my mom who has a rare blood cancer and uses a scooter. It was our first scooter experience and we were as surprised as some of you when they told us to get on the bus with her. We said we would wait in the line an dc join her later but the driver insisted saying he didn't want us to be separated if there wasn't room by the time we got through the line. We felt wierd and uncomfortable but it is that way for a reason, especially when the person in the wheelchair or scooter needs their groups assistance.

It is absolutely not ok to judge people for being in a scooter, whatever their body size is. First of all, if you're in a scooter not a full time wheelchair it's most likely because you need assistance, not full dependence like a wheelchair. You can probably jump right up and dance with a talking trashcan, it doesn't mean you can walk miles a day or stand in a line. Our next trip will be my first with a scooter, as my health has deteriorated and if I didn't have one I couldn't go. Posts like these are really upsetting to a first time user, that I'd be judged like that is a wierd feeling it never occurred to me to complain that someone has a mobility or health issue. The the thing about being overweight? Why don't you consider that many people became overweight because they have health issues. I am overweight now but before I was disabled and lost pretty much my entire life and career I was a fit cyclist who often worked more than 15 hours a day at a demanding job. Apparently there are people who choose to look at me using a scooter to get around so I can share this wonderful trip wiht my family and assume I just choose to be lazy and fat. Shame on anyone who walks around and judges people like this, I hate to tell you but every single person who lives an average life span will at some point be unable, at some point need assistance and I hope you learn some empathy before your time comes because it's nothing anyone would choose and you will see who bad it feels to be looked at as a lesser than.

Sorry about the rant, I was taken aback by this and it's really made me sad.

As far as pet peeves the ipad has to be the worst, but it haven't gone since the selfie sticks.....
Thank you for your rant! I too had no idea that people would get annoyed by someone who is disabled and....that they would think the family should be separated because being with someone who is disabled gives them some kind of special privilege! I'm sure the family would prefer to be in the line and have their loved one right beside them (not on a scooter). God Bless You!

Have you traveled overseas? Have you used a public toilet overseas? Many of the public toilets or even toilets in restaurants or elsewhere either resemble urinals (no seats) or worse. Also, many don't have any doors for privacy. I've been to places where there was just a hole in the floor and to others where there was an attendant who used a bucket of water to flush the toilets. To some people, a urinal is the best thing they have ever seen!
I have heard of holes in the floor, China, I think. I have never traveled overseas...so thank you for the education. And...I have never heard any man talk about someone taking a dump in a urinal! I am still shocked!

Very eloquently and well said! I have fibromyalgia with lupus type immune syndrome. I also get fatigued(usually start the day that way), which sooner rather than later turns into severe pain. I haven't gotten an electric vehicle yet, but will need to some day. It's usually just me and my husband who travel together, so a small party. I am having second thoughts about using an ECV due to the comments I see here and other sites aimed at cart users in general. I really don't want to inconvenience anyone else by using one, so will try to go it with the pain and disability again this year. Maybe in the future?????
Really...this is so sad! Please...if you are in pain....rent an ECV! I think most people understand and can sympathize. Don't let negative posts about ECV's dissuade you from getting your needs met. I would like to think that the human race...people in general....are kind...for the most part!
