Snoring Question??

Thanks for the suggestion. I'm the snorer, and unfortunately for DH, all the pokes and prods do nothing-I sleep like a rock. Not only does he sleep in the LR sometimes, he closes the bedroom door to give added "protection" from the noise of my snoring. So at this point, I'm sure he'd be willing to try almost anything new (except the divorce idea).
I think what you wrote could be me and my DH. I snore and he sometimes sleeps on the couch in the LR. I try the nasal strips and throat spray and sometimes they work and sometimes they don't. I will try the antihistiment. Maybe that would work.

I am a mild-moderate snorer - getting worse with age. I finally tried the Pure Sleep mouth piece after a few friends had success with it and it's working great for me. It takes a few weeks to get used to wearing at night, but I sleep great when I use it - no waking and no disturbing anyone else when we travel.:thumbsup2

My DH sounds like a freaking freight train. I wear earplugs to bed Every. single. Night. Unless I take an Ambien and can sleep through it!! It really does drown out the noise level, but I have to take a break now & then because my ear canals start getting tender.

I was actually looking into trying this but wanted to know if it really works before dropping $60! My understanding is you can return it within 30 days if it doesn't work. Is this correct?

Does the CPAP generate noise that would bother a light sleeper? Or is it relatively quiet?

It is actually pretty quiet as long as it is fitted properly.

Just FYI, APNEA is not always due to being overweight. In some cases such as myself and my daughter, there is a flap in your throat that can close during the night, cutting off breathing. I found out that I stopped breathing 88 times per hour - very severe apnea. My daughter who is 14 and is an athlete and is in top physical condition has the same problem and is now on a machine during sleep. You can undergo surgery to correct the problem, but I am not ready to go that route for either of us.

As much as I hate to admit it, I am a snorer when I sleep on my back. Sometimes my DS5 will sneak into my bed and then wake me up to say "stop snoring!" When I roll over to my side, I don't snore. I bought the nasal strips, but haven't tried them yet. This past March, we shared a bedroom with my niece and she didn't complain about my snoring. So, either she was really in a deep sleep or my snoring wasn't so bad. I choose to believe that my snoring wasn't so bad. :rolleyes1

I have major sinus issues and at times, I've been told I snore like a freight train. :rolleyes2 Of course, after being awakened by snoring and being the only one in the room, I've had to accept it. Dear Significant Other snores as well, boy what a pair we are! With snoring I find that the key is to be the one that falls asleep 1st and then the other is out of luck! Of course being really worn out from park hopping can sometimes help the situation! Perhaps a CPAP or 2 is in order!

I always ask for a box fan. Most resorts have them. Also an air cleaner will do the trick..... (or a hammer ;)).
