Did I totally mess up?

I had SDD. When the new tier system released, I changed to Smugglers Run.

1. Should I have kept SDD?
2. Any chance I can swap back on the 30 day mark? Is it true that they release more fast passes?

Yes you should have kept slinky dog.

1. SDD regularly has longer lines the MFSR
2. The MFSR queue is actually worth standing in.
3. SDD queue, really isn't one.
4. You can be on MFSR in minutes if you Rope Drop it.

i think it is a horse a peice. if you prefer Star Wars, then MFSR is the right call. I think SDD is a bit of a "tougher" FP+ to get, but don't like the masses tell you how to do Disney. do you!

if you think you want to revert back to SDD, i had some great luck when updated hours were posted for DHS a month before our trip. i was able to change it from 345pm to 855AM (changed from 9AM open to 8AM open). also if more people are doing this, then their times will also open up....

Good luck!

It isn't true that they release more fastpasses at 30 days, unless they extend the hours of the park. And I agree with the previous poster, it all depends on your priorities. I'm not a star wars lover, but I do love Slinky so that's what I would have kept. If that's not you, that's ok too.

There's no indication that they release additional FPs at 30 days. That said, people do change plans, so keep an eye out. Also watch for hours changes for your park day, as that will often cause additional times to be available.

If you're doing both rides, then you want FP for whichever has the longest line if you can't get both. And we don't have any idea yet how long a standby line will be for Smuggler's Run once FP is in effect.

We will definitely do both… I am with a group of 10… Five of those being children under the age of nine. Two of those being crazy crazy Star Wars fans LOL so I guess it’s probably not gonna matter either way

I would have kept Slinky. Smugglers run is just meh....unless you're a pilot.

If you have children, then you probably should have held onto SDD. Both are fun experiences, and you may have wanted to err on the side of trying a new ride.

Like some of the posters have said, both are good choices and it is a very personal experience/choice either way. I do not think you can say you went "wrong" either way...

I would’ve kept SDD. The SDD queue backs up pretty far outside, mostly with a complete lack of cover aside from some dinky umbrellas. I’m not sure how far the queue winds out of MFSR because I’ve only been on it during pass holder previews, but it seems a lot more of that queue is either covered or inside. Can you tell I get sunburnt easily? 😆 They’re both great rides though and I’ve heard if you hop on SDD closer to park closing the line isn’t as bad.
