Drinking water is a great way to take care of yourself to keep yourself healthy. The health benefits are great for digestion, gives you more energy, wonderful for your skin, regulates body temperature, good for kidney function and even helps with weight management. How much should you drink? Here’s something that tells us….

There’s also a chart below ⬇️ to help you. Many of us are good with drinking enough water and many of us are not. Hopefully this thread will encourage people to drink more water for a healthier lifestyle. So tell us today…..

According to the chart below……do you drink enough water?
How many ounces do you normally drink a day?
(multiple choice)

*Remember…..this includes all water sources like black coffee, tea, juices, vitamin water, sparkling water and more.

For Me…….I drink a lot of water - well over 100 ounces a day. On average, I drink about 120 ounces a day. Since my first pregnancy I’ve been very strict with myself with how much water I drink. My main water sources are black coffee, green tea, plain water (tap water), Propel (sugar free) when I workout and Vitamin Water (sugar free) in the summer. In the summer I drink more because I eat a lot of watermelon. Out of these that I mentioned, plain water is what I drink the most.

I don't know exactly the ounces I drink, but I feel lately it's probably not enough. I was better about it when I worked in an office and my water bottle was always right next to me on my desk.

Well if it was just plain water I need to drink more I do like water and I do drink it every day but not as much as I probably should but if you include coffee black well I drink tons of that probably too much I try not to drink a lot of juice because there’s just too much sugar in it and I’ve cut back on my soda intake to the point I’m trying not to drink soda at all and replacing it with water It’s hard because I’m a addict but so far so good every time I wanna soda I reach for water 💧

I drink plenty of water. I have two 12oz cups of coffee in the morning. Then I fill a 16oz mug at least four times a day. I know that it is important to stay hydrated. :)

I drink a lot of water.
I always have a glass of water with me....in the house, in the car.
When I am busy, it is harder to remember to drink. After a salty snack or meal, I try to drink more.
I also drink tea and a diet coke everyday,

I'd say I drink maybe 110-120, but it's been a long time since I weighed between 220 and 240. Mostly water, but also coffee, juice, can of pop once in a while.

It depends on the day, but I'm usually pretty good. I drink a ton of tea. If I'm working from home by myself I'll go through a 3 liter (100oz-ish) teapot by myself.

I don't drink as much water as I should. I really need to start though. I just have a hard time with the lack of taste it has. I used to drink a lot of sparkling water, but somehow I let myself transition into just drinking diet pops all day. I definitely have a high intake of that... just not water. I need to at least start drinking the sparkling water more.

I usually fill up my 40oz Stanley at least twice a day, I have at least 3 cans of carbonated water a day, and I often drink a 32 oz cup later in the evening.

Also good to keep in mind that it does not have to be straight water to count towards your water intake. If you add things like caffeinated flavor packets to your water or collagen powders, it's still water. I know some people get tripped up on this and think they're not getting enough because they've added something to their basic water...thus making it not water, but that's not the case.

I have in recent years made more of an effor tto drink more water as I tended not to. I can't really say how much I drink, but I usually get through a good bit in a day. I have limited myself to one soda too, so that helps.

I drink at least 120oz a day.
And for the most part water is all I drink.
Occasionally I'll have Pepsi and 7up but its maybe once every couple weeks.

According to the chart I should be drinking 80oz for my weight.

It's funny how any time I go to a doctor with a problem they tell me I'm just dehydrated...

This comes up every so often here. Drinking excessive amount of water to reach some arbitrary daily goal is really not necessary or advised. Probably can find more about that by reviewing reputable medical websites. Water intake includes things you eat that contain water, so it isn't just about drinking a lot of water. Have never had a reason to keep track of mine. Obviously, if you work outside in the Summer or are involved in various types of demanding activities (like running a marathon), you would have different goals.

Unless recommended by your doctor due to a specific medical issue, walking around all day with a jug of water and forcing yourself to constantly drink even when not thirsty isn't something I would recommend.

I drink 130+, because I love it! Either ice water or unsweetened iced tea, I always have a glass. I have a countertop ice machine that I fill up every other hour. I do not drink soda, juice, or milk (because I don’t like them). My ice machine craps out about once a year, I order one to be delivered the next day.

I do generally try to get to that 1/2 body weight in ounces amount each day. I primarily just drink water most of the time now - I cut out sodas and most other drinks, although I will usually have one cup of decaf coffee in the morning.

I don't measure how much water I drink, but I do drink plain tap water all day (after my morning coffee) and based on how much comes out the other end, I'm sure I get plenty! I don't drink soda, do have a bit of tart cherry juice in the morning. Milk is only for my oatmeal.

What is the source of that chart? Those amounts seem excessive. And the critical information left out, is over what time frame, temperature and activity level . We have a situation here where a woman died from water intoxication after drinking 68 ounces (4 bottles) of water in less than an hour. I don't drink water after 8 pm at night or before 8 am because I never would get any sleep. As it is I have to get up and pee every 2 hours at night because of blood pressure and diabetes medicines I take.
Yet 20 years ago, when I used to Umpire Little League games on 100 degree days, I would drink 3 bottles of water and 3 bottles of Gatorade (I alternated, water first, Gatorade second), about 111 ounces total over two hours. Perspire it all out.
