Hi everyone...

Planning for our first trip HOME in May :cool1:

I will be ordering some groceries for breakfasts in the room. Can someone tell me how big the refrigerator is? Is it one of those teensy ones like we all had in college?

I am hoping to fit: 1 gallon milk, 1quart orange juice, some yogurt, some cream cheese, a jar of jam, etc.

Am I dreaming??

Please tell me what you have fit into the refrigerators in the studios.

Thanks for any help you can provide! :flower3:

Yes, it is dorm sized.

We ordered a cake for our 15th anniversary and we had to take some of the shelves out so we could fit the cake in the fridge!

I think you'd be able to fit most of that though--depending on how much you're planning on buying. I'm pretty sure the milk would require the removal of the shelves though.

Have a fantastic first trip home! :cool1: :yay:

I think you should be able to fit all that. We fit tons of liquids in ours on our last stay. Mostly bottles of water, beer, and wine coolers. I was plesantly suprised at the size of ours.

Agreed. It's not a cube refrigerator it is made to just fit under a kitchen counter.

That is SO GREAT~!!

Thank you all for your input. It sounds like it's just the right size.

I appreciate the help!

It is similar to this, but the shelving on the door is different.

Agree with the picture size. Keep in mind there are only 2 sets of plastic eating utensils & only a few paper plates. Order more to stay with your food & stay sane.

Wow!! Thanks for the great visual! That is so helpful! I really appreciate you taking the time.

Thanks also to the poster who reminded me about paper plates/utensils. I've added them to my list.

I was just filling out my order form and made several midifications based on the picture that was provided on this thread. I'm leaving in 9 days.... cant wait to go home....:)

This is the fridge we had at SSR last October!

I wish I could order some beer and a white wine for DW but its not on the form. After a long day at the park a nice cold one would be perfect. :cool1:

Who are you ordering from? I am sure I read somewhere you can add beer and wine to some orders as special requests. We also nip over to Publix near the Premium Outlets or on the 192 just up from AKL for our groceries.

I know some of the shops at the resorts and the shop on the Boardwalk sell wine and beer.

Would you be able to walk to Publix?

There really aren;t any grocery store within walking distance, except perhaps you could walk to Gooding's at Crossraods from SSR. Be aware that Goodings is a very pricey grocery store.

Otherwise, you'll need to rent a car or take a taxi to either Publix or Winn-Dixie (personally I prefer Publix.)

We've used Garden Grocers in the past. Although they don't list adult beverages on their website, you can give them a call and order personally. I had to fax a copy of my drivers license to them to prove I was of age!:rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

:thumbsup2

Claire, That's my kind of fridge! You have excellent organization skills and excellent taste in beer and wine:goodvibes

Lol! It's normally DH who stocks the fridge as he enjoys doing that when we get back from shopping :)

Do you think I can write in a special request for beer on the form prior to faxing?:confused3

I'm not really sure about that. Never tried it before, but hey, it can't hurt to try! I got an email confirmation back about the stuff I ordered, and another one about the adult beverages.

Maybe make a copy of your drivers license and fax that too? Save an additional step?

I would be curious if that works. Saves a phone call!

When SSR was still Disney Institute, DH and I had a wonderful CM drive us to
Goodings in a white van, wait for us and drive us back to our townhouse with
our groceries. Of course we tipped him very well and it was a wonderful service
and was certainly less than a cab would have been w/tip. The first trip he
offered, the second trip we asked because it had been done before. It's worth
a try. As my mother always says, "If you don't ask, you don't get!" :thumbsup2
