Sister Challenge - moved to New Years Resolution in July

Hey Marie - GREAT job with the water yesterday!! That's exactly what I do...keep my water bottle right in front of me, and every few minutes, I take a sip. And the peeing is a good thing!! You're flushing out (literally :rotfl: ).

Bob was asking me about you last night too... :rolleyes1

Those darn kids....crampin your style! (just kidding)

Make it up to him today...we forgive ya!

So, did you show Bob who was boss this morning! CONGRATS on getting in all that water! Before you know if you will not be able to survive on less than 100oz per day...

Your eating looks great. Another day or two like that and I think that counts as being officially back on track! :cheer2:

Thanks girls!! I feel good!! Bob kicked my butt this morning, and rightfully so!! No backin off now!! Bob was tough this morning on me, but even he said it....it's my own fault!
I know I'm back on track....running tonight....then a date w/ my man Bob....and water water water!!! I couldn't believe how much I drank yesterday!! I told DSIS #1 about it this morning....she was impressed!!

ok...gotta get to work now.
later taters!!

Sounds like you and bob need "counseling" I am thinking this "open relationship" that you have "sharing " bob with multiple partners is causing emotional and moral strain on your "relationship"

That will be 250$ I take paypal. :hippie:

l-chicken salad on wheat 1/2 sandwich, 2 mini carrots & 1 piece of cauliflower w/ lite ranch
s-2 m&m's
d-2 little square pieces of homemade chicken pizza....turned out really good...amazed myself!
water intake - 88 oz.....bathroom breaks - 5 ( i swear i think i peed for 5 minutes straight!!! oh...sorry, TMI...)
exercise - 3 mile walk w/ dh....felt so good to get back out there! we agreed not to run tonight...we need to ease back into it again....probably tomorrow night.

ok...so....I've been on this diet for a couple of months now....lose a few, gain a few.....everyone in the office knows i'm on a diet but yet they still bring the candy and donuts and cakes....i say no thank you. ok....well monday i had to run an errand before work and i called the boss to ask her if anyone wanted anything for b-fast. she says no...better not...."R" is on a diet and i really want her to lose some weight. WTH!!!!! you don't think twice about bringing in all the crap even though I"M on a diet!!! Well..."R" is doing the Atkins diet. She does it every year from April to November when they go on a cruise. I've worked w/ her for 3+ years and not once have I seen her lose an ounce!!! she brings in hot-dogs and will eat them w/o the bun, but she will eat 3 or 4 of them and a bag of pork things. (they're just gross if you ask me!) Yesterday, she has FRIED CHICKEN FINGERS and FRIED OKRA!!!! HELLO.....IS ALL THAT FRIED FOOD ON YOUR DIET?? Well today, as I was making my 1/2 sandwich R says (very snottily) "boy, I'd like to know what kind of diet you're on....eating bread like that!!" I turned around and said, "I'm on the portion control, watching what I eat - diet...not the I'm gonna eat 4 hotdogs and a bag of chips and call it a diet - diet!" (yes, i was totally snarky, but she had it coming!) Then she asks me how much water I drink a day....I said "Monday I had 97 oz, and yesterday I had about 80 oz." She says, "I'd throw up if I drank that much water!" (and again, my attitude and snarkiness got the best of me) I didn't even turn around....i just said "I'd throw up if even attempted to eat 3 hot dogs in one setting..." at that point my boss called me into her office. not to reprimand me, but to keep me from getting really (b) itcy and saying something about her amazon sized feet!! i think she wears a mans 13!! she thought i was in trouble until i came out of the bosses office laughing....(i told her what i was going to say next before she called me in.)
anyway, it just really ticks me off that i've been trying to lose this weight and get no support from anyone at work, but amazon (b) itch starts one and everyone is like....oh....don't offer her anything...she's on a diet..... Dh and you guys are really great....just wish you were all in my office...would make my life so much easier.
Thanks for listening to me vent...sorry so long.

Wow, sounds like you had a "day" too. :grouphug:

I don't get the whole Atkins thing either. DH is one of those tall guys that doesn't put on weight, but most of DH's family is obese (+100 lbs overweight). They have been on every diet out there. Atkins is their favorite (!) because they can eat a pound of bacon for breakfast. How can that be good for you?

Seems like so many of these diets are extreme, and not a sustainable lifestyle. I'm with you on eat a balanced diet in moderation and exercise!

Speaking of exercise, you are doing great! Maybe I'll try getting some exercise DVD's as an alternative to my walking. It is dark now and I never did get my exercise in today.

Marie - Hello!

I just caught up with a lot of your journal and wanted to say good job and way to go! All of that water + an increase in exercise is going to work magic for you.

Love the rant!! You'll get yours when you are slimming down by eating the right foods and your co-worker inflates again when she stops her Atkins...keep your confidence, you are doing the right thing!

Thanks Scott!! I appreciate it!! It's so aggrivating sometimes....at least I can come here to vent and you guys understand!
I'm at home w/ a sick child today so i'm going to catch up on some journals (like yours...i think i'm to page 3....).

Have a great day! :sunny:
marie

That is pretty messed up at work! I can't believe they are not supportive of you, but they support R. Maybe they don't think you are taking this diet thing seriously or maybe R is such a b---- that they want her to lose weight to shut her up? Either way, you will show them when you lose all your weight and change your lifestyle to a more healthy one! :cool1: :cheer2:

I really don't know the reason....my boss is really pretty cool to me....2 hr. lunch shopping trips, she invites us over to her house in the summer to swim and cookout, we go to ballgames together....(DH & I have season tickets to AAA team)....I know you're not supposed to do that, but I told her a long time ago that she was my boss and I respected her, and that I was an employee, so to yell at me if I did something stupid...and if I ever got fired, I would still consider her a friend.
she doesn't invite R, or really anyone else, to lunch or anywhere for that matter...
I guess it just really rubbed me the wrong way that she said it the way she did, and the way everyone acts around R. (R is 47, 6ft 1in and refuses to weigh herself....i figure she's about 210-220. She does not work out AT ALL, and makes snide comments about the fact that I do.)
oh well...i know i'm getting healthier the right way and i'm not going to dwell on her or the others.
life's to short to deal with stupid people. (how's that for profound?!) :teeth:

have a great day all....i think i'm going to go mop my beautiful tile!

Dont get mad when I say this.

Seriously...ranting is good for you (esp on here where its safe) and that R sounds like a total pain. It could be that she gets very (b) itchy when shes on a diet and that why ppl try to appease her...and that you dont so they dont worry about it as much. It could also be that they think she needs the diet support more than you do.( or just the diet for that matter)

Now the part that will make you mad.

Its no ones responsibility but yours. You absolutely cant ask other people to change their behavior to make your life easier. (except your family...who you have control over ) Lets just say for a minute that they did. No one brought any snacks that you cant resist for several months. You lose lots of weight. Now what? At what point does their responsibility for you end? If they bring in snacks and candy now will you gain the weight back and blame them? Or will you be able to resist because you have learned to thru the entire process...practice makes perfect. Its hard and it seems like you have really been able to do it very well...it cracks me up when I see you had 4 chips or 2 whoppers. Resisting temptation is exactly what its about. Sometimes we fail miserably and sometimes we do great. Eventually they may get the flick (after you say no many many many times) or they may never get it. It doesnt matter because its up to you.

I know that sounds like a lecture and I apologise for that. I know you were just ranting...I have been thru the same thing myself. In my mind its kind of a power thing...and that helps me a lot. You have the power girl!

:hippie:

Lindalindalindalinda...get mad at you??!! NEVER!!

I understand what you're saying.... and I'm not asking them not to bring in their munchy stuff....i bring in muncies too...veggie tray...oranges...etc...just respect the fact that I'm on a diet too. I know I had called and asked if I should bring donuts that day....but it was for everyone...not just R. If she didn't want one...she could have said no.....that's what I do. I wasn't trying to tempt her...just trying to do something nice for the office...which is rare for me anyway.... :teeth:

Marie, sounds like you're having a tough time at work. Hang in there! Things will improve. If you were really a devoted employee you'd bring in a tray of fried okra to pass around. (Yeck!) I agree with you that portion control is the way to go except I can't control my portions this month. However, my brother swears by Atkins but it made me sick.
