Sister Challenge - moved to New Years Resolution in July

Marie,
I finally finished reading back posts of your journal.. Love the "BraBuddies" ! :rotfl2: and yes, Whoppers are definitely evil! DH bought the Easter candy this year and didn't get any. I was sad, but it is probably a good thing since I am the one that eats most of them anyway! :rotfl: I wish I could get DH to walk with me in the evenings. That would help a lot. On the otherhand DD11 and DD10 could start WW3 if left alone together for an hour. I swear they  each other or fight like :cat: 's and :dog2:'s . Currently, we are in a :cat: and :dog2: cycle! :headache:

Hope you are enjoying your Sunday and DD is feeling better!

Hey B-B's!! :teeth:
Sunday Sunday Sunday!!!! AAAARRRRGGGGHHHH the end of the weekend!!
This morning had an engagement photo shoot at 10 am.....it was hot!!! Stayed a little while after the couple left and shot some "fun" stuff....got a really cool picture of a mama Canadian Goose turning her eggs....(at least I thought it was cool!) (of course, daddy goose was 3 inches away from me hissing and honking....didn't bother me....i grew up on a farm...i honked back!! :rotfl2: )
ok...
b-1/2 poptart...on the way to the shoot
s-nothing
l-1 corndog...yuck!
s-carrots and dip
d-1 hot dog (& bun) and about 6 fries
water intake-60-70 oz....not as much as i had hoped for.
exercise - cut the grass...yes, DH usually does it, but i threw a fit because I wanted to be outside and get some sun....he moved the trampoline and stuff while I cut....felt really good!! although afterwards I was really...REALLY tired....like i couldn't keep my eyes open.... :confused3 don't really know why either...

dd is doing better, although she is still coughing really bad....ds has a checkup tomorrow....might take dd back in to double check and make sure there's nothing else going on.

ok...gonna print some pictures, put away some laundry, take a shower and go to bed...wow....maybe i'll just skip all that and go to bed....

You were really busy today! Mowing the lawn sounds like good exercise (and a lot of hard work!) Good for you!

ok....I weighed yesterday morning...just to see where I was at....it was
157!!! :woohoo: :woohoo: :woohoo:
now I know yesterday wasn't my normal weigh-in day, but I wanted to know....well anyway, this morning, TOM hits and I'm at 160!!! WTH!! :(

ok...so the question is....(you all know how much water i drank this week, and you all know how much i've worked out....and how i'm really back on track this time....) Which weight do I log? 157  or 160 ?
now if i take the 160, i'm still down like 2 pounds, but if i take the 157, i'm down 5 lbs!!

you decide for me...i'll do what you guys think is fair.

thanks guys...
marie

First, take a water pill. Log 157. in 3 days if its not back down there, then make the adjustment. This is what I always do. I think it motivates you more. If you log 157, and know the scales says 160, you know youll have to log a gain next time if you dont stay on track. (nothing worse than logging a gain)

:hippie:

I don't know - I always post whatever the scale says on my official day, whether it is good or not. It's completely up to you! I'm glad to see I am not the only one who can gain 3lbs overnight...

You have been really active this weekend, great job! :cheer2:

Hi Marie! Hope your DD is feeling better today! Sounds like you had a pretty busy weekend.

I don't know what to tell you to do about the weigh in? I think that I would probably go w/ today's weight, cause I wouldn't want to have to come back next week and log a gain. But I don't really know. :confused3

Hope you have a good run this evening or enjoy Bob tonight, whichever is on the menu! :teeth:

For me it would be better to take today's weight and the 2 lb loss and then hopefully get another loss for next week  rather than take a big loss this week followed by a gain the next week. :sad2:

You've done great with your water and exercise this week. That and with TOM gone, should make for another good WI next week! :cheer2:

Ok...the votes are in...I'm going with today's weight....a loss is a loss, right?!

Sis #1 - 450 - she never calls me back on Mondays... :furious:
Sis #2 - 183 - I have no idea where she was at last week... :confused3
Sis #3 - 160 - down 2...i'll take it!!

oh...sis #1 just called me back....178. I have to go back through my entries and log in our progress. I lost my first book, and I haven't been tracking it except for on here.

today was blah....monday.....blah.....DH had to go pick up DD from school today...started running fever again....I stopped after work and got picked up her prescription for Zithromax liquid...hopefully this will take care of it!!

b-total w/ red berries 1/2 cup 2% milk
s-nothing
l-went for lunch w/ dh....taco, 1/2 burrito, 1/2 beans
s-nothing
d-nothing yet....not sure what i want
water intake -60 oz so far...
exercise - balancing the checkbook. :rolleyes1

deal or no deal is on...be back later!

Hey Marie

Great job with the loss!! I think I would have logged your weigh-in day's weight too, and looked forward to another loss next week.

You're really doing great with the water. And even on the day that you had ice cream for dinner, you really didn't eat much. Now me, I would have still eaten a dinner, THEN gone to have ice cream....that's the problem with me! :teeth:

I hope your DD is feeling better!

You are doing really good with your eating! I know it is tough with kids (especially when you have a sicko) but is there any way you can get into some sort of solid routine with exercising? I've found it is much easier to stay on track if I write down everyday I am going to the gym on our family monthly calendar that is on the fridge. I actually feel guilty if I don't go...

You are so close to the 150's! Soon you will be there consistently and you can kiss those 160's goodbye! :cheer2:

Yeah, I know what you mean...I'm pretty sporadic about excersizing. I love our evening run/walks, and we are trying to get back on track with that...I know Monday's are our off days, but the rest of the week we really try to get out there and do it. I don't have a gym membership, and really couldn't commit to the amount of time needed to make it happen. I find it better on the family if i just shut the door to the bedroom and workout in there....that way when the kids start fighting I'm still available.
I think I will start writing it down on our calendar-(also on the fridge:) )..that way we pretty much have to stick to it....be accountable for it!
Thanks Amy....you always have great advice!!

Hi Marie,

Sorry I haven't stopped by in a while! Just wanted to offer you encouragement and to tell you I think you really are doing an amazing job! As for the exercising thing, I think it's a great idea to put it on your calendar as if it were an appointment. Sure it's an appointment with "yourself" but none the less important than if you had a Dr. appt. That way you won't schedule other things in that time. I find that if I stick to the same time and schedule I am more likely to get into a routine.

Anyway, good luck and keep up the GREAT work!!! :cheer2:

You have a good plan to make an appt with yourself to exercise and let the family know! I know it is so hard to make time for yourself. Today I am running errands and should really go to Costco 'cause I will be in that part of town, but it also right by a great walking place. I am torn about getting in a great walk or going to Costco (don't have time to do both unfortunately.) I know I should make time for myself, but "life" keeps getting in the way! I am going to join the exercise challenge next month and hope that will be a good motivator for me. Care to join me?

See, that's my problem too! Life keeps getting in the way. I know that's not an excuse, and I'm not going to let it stop me from getting my workouts in, but some days, it's just SOOOOO hard to do it! Especially with DD being sick this past weekend....I get up in the middle of the night several times to check on her, so I'm really tired, then I go to work, come home, dinner, homework....blah blah blah....excuse excuse excuse....
I'm going to sign up for the May Exercise Challenge and I'm going to do like AMYT (lovinAZ) and I'm going to EXCEED my goal!! It's going to be tough because wedding season is upon us and I have several scheduled, but I will make the time to do it!! Come hell or high water!!

I posted this over on the Community Board......thought I'd let you guys know as well....after all, you are my B-B's!!

Son has to see Pediatric Orthopedic Dr.....

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

DS10 had a Dr. appt. yesterday for a general checkup....allergies, ADHD meds....etc. While there, the Dr. had him bend and touch his toes. At this point the doc gets a funny look on his face and has him do it again. Apperantly his right leg is longer than his left. Dh nor I had never noticed this before. After looking at him, I could tell that one hip is higher than the other and when he bends, his back kinda humps on the right side. His right calf is larger also. Pediatrician wants him to see an orthorpedic dr. I made an appointment for Monday 5/1.

Has anyone ever dealt with this? Any advice or input? I'm trying not to worry, but am anyway.

The dr. said he doesn't think it's scoliosis, but wants him checked....yes....i'm worried, but trying not to.

:grouphug: :grouphug: Try not to stress out about it! A really good friend of mine grew up with the same thing - his left side is a little taller than his right side. It just grew faster for some reason. He is perfectly normal (well, physically anyway!) and I would have never noticed if he hadn't said anything. He is in his early 40's, married w/2 boys, plays softball and golf. If your DS is healthy and active, I'm sure it's nothing to be too overly concerned about. Just get it checked out for that peace of mind! Hang in there! :grouphug: :grouphug:

Aw, Marie. Well, I'm glad for two things. I'm glad your ped. wanted to follow through with it and not just "watch things". And I'm glad that you could get in pretty fast with the Ortho. He'll be fine, we're all rooting for him! My sister has one leg slightly shorter than the other. You'd never know it by watching her walk, or even in looking at her.

You and your son are in my thoughts and prayers. Please keep us posted!

:grouphug: Keep us posted for sure!! I agree with Kim, it's good that the ped wanted to follow-up. But try not to worry until you see the ortho (I know, I know....MUCH MUCH easier said than done!). I will surely keep you in my thoughts.

Its good that the Dr. noticed. I'm sure its no problem (my sis also had this prob, it didnt effect her in any way...unless that somehow makes you sanctimonious). My Dr noticed a prob. my son had when he was around 9. Its a joint thing, his ligaments are too loose. It makes him get sprained ankles, knees etc easily. I never noticed it myself. He went to physical therapy for awhile, but really...hes just loosy-goosy. I'm sure it will be fine!
