Sinister Soiree Questions

I asked the CM if we would be able to take pictures with the villains during the event. She said, "Sure, as long as you bring your own camera." so no photographers...

This is from Disney Parks Blog:

"Disney PhotoPass photographers will be on hand at the parade and fireworks viewing area, but will not be at the dessert soiree; however Guests are welcome to take photos of all the fun inside the Castle themselves."

I waited on hold yesterday afternoon for close to 45 minutes. I was able to book the Soiree for 10/16 @ 11:30pm - the earlier seating was sold out. Super excited since our family costume this year is Cinderella theme: DD13 Cinderella, DH Prince Charming, DD9 Anastasia and Me=Drizella!!!

I am sticking with 10:15 because I like the idea of having another hour of the party after the soiree. Which actually that last hour is the least crowded. Whereas right after the fireworks it still is very crowded. I think some with really young ones leave by 11. For the longest time I thought the park closed after the fireworks because growing up my family always left shortly after the fireworks. Actually my parents still leave after the fireworks :goodvibes

Great point- I feel much better about it now.

Thanks for posting. Seems kind of odd to me... wonder how that will work with photographers there for fireworks and parade??

I'm curious about that too. And so much for my idea that one of the characters would be posing in the lobby. That's too bad too, since those shots are always much better than the ones with other diners and tables in the background.

Yeah I'm really surprised about the Photopass answer. I think Disney should def put one character in the lobby with a Photopass photograph to guarantee at least 1 picture. They should also give you a free print to go with those $99 per person ;)

Yup. We were BOTH wrong -- I won't accept that! ;)

I don't think the viewing area will be in the same place as the FP+ area. This is from the disney mom's panel:

"The preferred viewing location for Mickey's "Boo-to-You" Halloween Parade and the HalloWishes Fireworks Spectacular is in the same place, which is right in front of Cinderella Castle right behind the Partners Statue (Walt Disney and Mickey holding hands)."

I was told by the CM when I booked that the viewing area is the same place that we check in- The Central plaza/ Castle fore court stage. This is directly from WDW's site:

To check in for the event, visit the Will Call booth outside the main entrance of Magic Kingdom park from 4:00 PM to 6:30 PM. Starting at 7:30 PM, you may check in at the parade and fireworks viewing area in the central plaza by the Castle Forecourt Stage.

Now having said that Im still not 100% sure where it is. In front of the stage?

Even if they didn't include the print (as they are getting away with that now with Memory Maker) having that one shot on Photopass would have at least allowed people to add party borders.

I guess that's our one time for the year. ;)

It has to be the northern portion of the Hub. Whether that is on the exterior (castle side) of the street or the interior (Partnership Statue side) of the street remains unclear. I assume it's the same as the MSEP FP viewing area, which is on the interior side, but I don't know.

Whichever one it is, I think that location is poor for fireworks viewing.

Yes I think it is in front of the stage. I was confusing myself because normally FP+ for the fireworks is in the Rose Garden I think, but with this you will see both the parade and the fireworks from this same spot in front of the castle.

Well, some of them. There's a 199-foot obstruction right in front of you. ;)

Why on earth would I want pictures of us in the parade viewing area just waiting for the parade to start? If this really is a very low number of tickets being sold and they are taking photos actually during the parade or if they were to have a villian inside the area greeting people, then I could see it, but just to have them in the area while people are sitting there holding their spots? Even if you could get them positioned for castle pics, the castle area will be crowded with people staking out parade spots, so I wouldn't think the photos would be that great.

I can see why they don't have a villian downstairs with photopass in CRT. It would be fun, but I don't think they have time for it. They need to herd everyone upstairs and get the villians rotating asap, to hit all the tables. I think it would take way too long to pose everyone for a formal picture on the way in. The people in the back would miss a good portion of the party.

Can't wait to see the first reports from the party to see how all this works!
