Sinister Soiree Questions

Why on earth would I want pictures of us in the parade viewing area just waiting for the parade to start? If this really is a very low number of tickets being sold and they are taking photos actually during the parade or if they were to have a villian inside the area greeting people, then I could see it, but just to have them in the area while people are sitting there holding their spots? Even if you could get them positioned for castle pics, the castle area will be crowded with people staking out parade spots, so I wouldn't think the photos would be that great.

Yeah, I wondered the same thing when I read that. I think that area is too close to the castle to really do decent castle or fireworks shots, so it seems it would just be people sitting around waiting for the parade to start. Seems odd. Thankfully we won't have long before reports start coming in!

I just looked through that write-up on parade FP+. That really is a lot of prime real estate that is no longer available to the general public. Very disappointing.
The viewing area is not the same as the FP viewing area

OK all kidding aside there was an area of the official wdw blog that Shawn was posting. I can't find it. I think it was dated yesterday. Now all I'm finding is the link for Pam Bradon on there and she is saying a lot of nothing. What the heck is going on ?

I don't think the viewing area will be in the same place as the FP+ area. This is from the disney mom's panel:

"The preferred viewing location for Mickey's "Boo-to-You" Halloween Parade and the HalloWishes Fireworks Spectacular is in the same place, which is right in front of Cinderella Castle right behind the Partners Statue (Walt Disney and Mickey holding hands)."

That would be the area between the Partners statue and the castle, which is what I believe the regular FP area is.

That spot directly behind the partners is the parade FP+ spot. We did FP+ last fall. It is perfect spot for parade pics, but terrible for fireworks.

In that case isn't that way too close to the castle to see the fireworks?

Thanks for posting. Seems kind of odd to me... wonder how that will work with photographers there for fireworks and parade??

There was a photopass guy at our wishes party, so maybe it is the same type thing? :confused3

Hmmm... I'm thinking maybe I'll try the parade from the reserved area and wander to another spot for fireworks... maybe... I don't know...

About the PP photog... Just feels like there's more room to set up during the fireworks dessert party... I can't picture what this will look like for this reserved area...??

Guess I'll wait for early reports... :)

So many thanks to those brave soles attending the first couple of parties!!

"What the heck is going on?" Is right. Information seems to be changing by the hour. They need to just get a party plan and then stick with it. THIS is why I get frustrated with Disney. We're staying on site at Uni and just popping over for MNSSHP, and this one 5 hour evening is 150x more stressful than 5 whole days with Harry.

Might be too close but better then having some guy crawl up my back and a family of six hoist their kids on their shoulders right in front of me when I waited there for an hour... dde04

Just know that this could still happen in spite of your $100 party tickets! CMs did nothing about rude people in the Frozen viewing areas...

I hate to say it, but with 2 events a night, I would expect the same type of behavior. When the spot is FP+, it is easily 3 people deep for parades. I assume the party will be the same.

Thanks but I still feel that I'm ahead.. And if early reports show it's a cluster I can always watch the parade as I have the ten years before camping out 1 hour before.. NBD and I will still keep my 100.00 reservation to eat my desert and meet the villains.. And if that turns out to be a bigger cluster I will just cancel and get my 100,00 back.. Again NBD

I'm thinking you're right, wait and see.

And the CM we booked through tried to up sell us MM (we already have it) because PP photographers will be on hand for pictures, and "all party pictures would be available via MM". Wish they'd give the dang CMs some solid info on these events prior to selling tix. Sent from my iPhone using DISBoards

Keeping my fingers crossed until we get reviews from partygoers. Wishing it was October!

I would sure hope that if you stake out your spot for the parade at 8:00 am, you would get a front-row seat! That's dedication!

Kidding, I know what you meant! It was too good to pass up. :)

:guilty::rotfl2:got me! I'm hoping fact that they will have a secondary check in in the area beginning @ 7:30 pm means that's when they will let ticketed guests enter 'the area'. who am I kidding, the over compulsive planners among us;)will just line up at whatever holding area.

My personal feeling is that it's way too close to see the full effect of the fireworks. MNSSHP includes perimeter bursts. It's hard to full appreciate that when you are so close. But given the timing of events that night, I doubt they had time to move people. Everyone in this group has viewing for fireworks so every person would have to move. That is not the case with regular FP+.

One thing to keep in mind is that every person in this area will have seen the early parade. Some might stick around and watch the parade again, but probably not. That means the area will likely clear out pretty quickly after the fireworks. Although some might stay for whenever the next castle show is. But if you're wanting to see the second parade, hovering in the area will likely be fruitful.

It's where we typically set up shop when at the party, have lots of great shots over the years in that area.:goodvibes For a truly panoramic view it's cool to see them from CG, or BLT viewing area/balcony.

didn't realize this has been definitively answered by WDW.popcorn::

thanks, will just keep buzzing in anticipation

curious if they are intentionally vague as to 'where' the area will be located in order to sell the ADRs:confused3 or if it will be a work in progress and they will tweak things if early events don't run smoothly.

Thank you for the welcome! Still getting my feet wet here, but loving every minute of it!

I spoke to a CM in events and ticketing, she sounded confident that the soiree was for 100 but no more than the max capacity of CRT which she said was 120, but after a bit of Google searching several sources confirm that CRT actually has seating for 130, this may explain if anyone misheard 30. She also told me that parade and fireworks viewing is NOT in the typical FP+ reserved spot but in the actually castle four-quart area, not sure where that is... just relaying what I was told... If nothing else then we know there will be no more than 130 for the Soiree and possibly as little as 100.

The Castle forecourt area is the area right in front of the stage.
