I went out and got fitted for a great sports bra
I can't run more than 60 secs. but it's a start.
Even though I've lost over 100lbs...
I'm not in great shape. That's also something I'm working on.
I made itto 6.0 MPH on the elliptical today, which for me is a BIG deal.
I followed a link here and would love to join in.
I've lost 20 lbs since Valentines day
We usually go out for Mexican and then blizzards from DQ
But we split a plate of fajatias.
So if someone could pm me and tell me where to gom I would love it since I did follow the link
TIA
Hello, everyone.
I just thought I'd pop in to say hi. I guess I am trading pounds for pixie dust too because I hope to reach one goal by my WDW trip and I have 5lbs left to go![]()

I SO need to do this. Where did you go?
I'm hoping to be able to run HALF that! LOL
Is there room for another Shrinking Tink?
I started Oct 1st, and have worked on losing bit by bit through the winter.
I've been backreading, and I love the positivity of this thread.
It's one day at a time. Bliss
Now that I've mastered the elliptical I think it's time to move on to the stair machine of death. I can BARELY make 10 minutes on that. Sometimes 5 is my limit.
I went to a local bra shop. The kind that specializes in fitting, and carries masectomy styles and stuff like that. They even will do alterations if needed to give you a good fit. I wasn't finding anything in the department stores in my size that actually stopped the bounce. I think the woman in the shop thought I was a bit nuts as I had to jump up and down to test all of them out.The one thing there is that they don't keep alot of their stuff (ie the sports bras) out on their small sales floor. They measure you and then start to bring in all kinds of things in your size. If I hadn't asked I would have never known that they actually carried all kinds of stuff. Lots of European brands.
I'd go over the edge and eat anything not nailed down.

There is always room for one more shrinking Tink.
I tried the stair machine once. I honestly thought my legs were on fire...I think that was about 2.5 min. after I started! I did love the elliptical, though, when I was at the gym more often. I used to do a pretty fun program on the machine that had me do all sorts of different things. I was never really bored. Tired, sweaty and decidedly unprincess-y, but not bored. LOL
The elliptical scares me to death. I get worn out just watching people on it.I used to love the stairmaster (the one with the pedals not the revolving stairs), but I haven't been back on it since going back to the gym.
Seriously, you make me snortlaugh at least once a day.
I can so relate.
We're kind of like Lay's Potato Chips: Bet you can meet just one!
::crickets::
Well, I laughed.![]()
I used to be scared to death of the elliptical. Now I love it! It helps me to feel like I'm jogging without having to make a scene out of myself on the treadmill. I never really used to the stairmaster with pedals but this revolving stairs of Hades is pure torture. It was obviously conceived by a male.

what am I doing? - not much other than the terapy and trying to go to the YMCA. I did start a basic yoga class (dr orders).
bike or swim only
I'm taking a bunch of supplements due to recent blood work and because of a muscle contraction problem I have in my head and neck. The neuro. thinks I may be pre-diabetic. He added alpha lupeic acid recently for metabolism. I don't know.
I also don't know how to cook - seriously. I'm afraid to try since I don't know how it will taste and don't want to waste time making something I won't like. Really need to work on this. I've tried looking for someplace locally for classes - but nothing. The only place offers the class only when I can't attend - and it's $300 for six weeks.
HI Kristi!!!And welcome!
Does your Y have a pool? Could you swim there? I wish my gym had a pool. I think I'd be there 6 out of 7 days!
And if you're taking something for a specific condition, read anything and everything you can on both the condition and the supplement..
Finally, rely on us here!!! For anything!!! Vent. Bounce questions off us. Rejoice!
try to get your hands on a copy of MJ Ryan's This Year I Will.... It's about changing habits of ALL kinds, including food/health habits.
You can do this. And we're here to help.![]()
Be good to yourself. You deserve it.
My Y does have a pool - one of the reasons I joined. It's hard to work around the classes using it as well as Masters Swim as that blocks the lap lanes. I don't get off work early enough to make the water aerobic classes. Why do places that offer classes assume all the world gets off at 5pm?
Cooking is very difficult as my Mom was an "open the can and drop it in the pan" kind of cook (still love her though). She didn't use herbs, seasonings or spices. Therefore, I don't know much about them or if I would like them. I suspect I'm a bit sensitive to rosemary though. My ability to cook is more than just looking at a recipe - it's actually how to do the techniques - how to tell if its done and such.
