Show me: your first photo taken with a new camera or lens

I know I took some photos in the house when the camera came - pets, TV, pictures, etc, but this was the first official Disney picture I took the day after it arrived

Here's the second picture (DSC_0002.jpg) after I learned to remove the lens hood when necessary.
I think we're all been there... at least, I hope so since I sure have been. :) Maybe I should just pick up a proper flash unit one of these days...

I purchased this lens specifically for capturing the action at my DD volleyball tournaments. Technically the following isn't the first shot with this lens, as I did test it at home first. However this is my first attempt at capturing my DD in action with my new 50mm 1.4.

First picture I took with my Nikkor 70-300mm f/4.5-5.6G ED-IF AF-S VR:
Took this particular picture to prove to myself that the VR works (300mm ISO 1600 f/5.6 1/6th handheld)

I don't remember what the first picture I took with my 50mm f/1.8 lens was. I think it may have been just a pic of the bedroom so I probably deleted it. I did buy it right before we left for Disney so I believe this is the first picture I took with it down there:

It is completely a coincidence that both are a hibiscus. They are completely different locations.

These were the 2nd and 143rd shots taken with my 1st digicam... a Canon G-1. I paid top dollar to have it when it was a few days new on the market... $899... plus I dropped $400 for a 1G microdrive and $100 for spare batery and semi-hard case. I got soaked but shot 15,000 priceless memories with it before stepping up to a 300D. Photo on left was pre-trip planning and the photo below on the right wastaken in the Latin quarter, Paris in the evening.

This is one of my first with my Cannon S2 IS...I couldn't find the very first one. This is the first nice camera that I have ever had, so it's the 8th one.

I was cleaning up some old subscriptions (I took my subscription list from 33 pages to 3!) and I thought I'd give this thread a bump, since we have so many folks who have picked up new cameras recently. Anyone else care to share their first shots?

This isn't the first pic I took with my new D300. It's actually the 3rd. The first 2 I didn't download.
