Should we book home resort for SWW 09 or wait to try another?

We are planning our first SWW trip next year and we are looking for advice. If we book at our home resort can we try to book something else at 7 months and just cancel if we get the new reservation?

I don't know what SWW is, so no idea about the time of year, but it is ALWAYS adviseable to book your home resort at 11 months and then switch to a different one at 7 months if you are wanting a different experience. That way you will still have a place if the resort you want to change to is not available.

We were just at SWW at the start of June. It was the first time we went and I can definitely recommend staying at etiher the BCV or BWV. We originally had reservations for our home at AKV and then at 7 months we switched to BWV. Being close enough to all the action at DHS made a big difference for us. May the force be with you ...next year! :yoda:

I'm another advocate of booking your home resort at 11 months and then switching at 7 months if you want too. At 7 months out you may have to go on a waitlist.

We were lucky in that we didn't have to go on a WL at 7 months but we did have to switch from a standard view 1br after 2 nights to a boardwalk view 1 br for the last 3 nights of our trip. I would have preferred staying in one room for the whole 5 nights.

If I could pick either BWV or BCV which is better? We spend most of the time in the parks. Should I try to rent/trade post to get what I am looking for?
