Should I ride Big Thunder Mountain Railroad

I love all the rides at WDW, but I'm kinda ashamed that BTMRR is in the same company as Space and Splash... compared to those 2, Big Thunder is a wimp. It goes way too slow, there's barely any height to it, the wait area is extremely boring.....

Nevertheless, it's a great rides for the kids (and therefore the entire family). I still make it a point to ride it every time I'm down there, but if I don't ride it I'm not terribly upset.

Did you know BTMRR is faster than SM? Officially, SM's max speed is only 30 mph. It just seems faster, because it is in the dark.

I feel your pain, everytime I get to the park I chicken out and don't ride anything scary! I have never even got the courage for spalsh! Like you I want to take an "oath" to ride BTMR, SPLASH,DINOSAUR,TEST TRACK.....

:wizard: Here is some good luck for u!

I am a certified ride wimp. BTMRR does not have the drop feeling, because they drops are not big at all. If you sit in the back, it is a little more crazy, but ou still barely feel your stomach move a tiny bit up towards your brain. The front is the smoothest ride. The ride is just fun, because it keeps making turns and you get jerked around a lot.

Dinosaur is just a jerky ride with scary dinosaurs popping out. There aren't even simulated drops. Test Track is fast at the end, but there are no drops or anything like that. Now, Splash I won't do, because that is a stomach in your brain kind of drop. Space Mountain is much easier than that one. I get the stomach about up to my shoulders kind of feeling, but since it is in the dark, I don't notice it until the drops are almost over.

I got motion sickness on it. I have a bad problem but thought it would be ok. It wasn't

If you can do SM, you will be fine!!! My three year old and I road Big Thunder last year with no problems what so ever.. but seeing that huge drop from SM almost gave me a heart attack.

So trust me. If you can do SM, you've got this in the bag! :goodvibes

:rotfl: Me too, me too! Thank God the ride only lasted 30 or so seconds!! That was a kiddie roller coaster? I love Big Thunder, though.
