DH and I have been debating whether or not to get an annual pass this upcoming trip or not? We go about 10 days a year right now 2-3 mini trips. We are not competely sure if we get the passes we would go more. With prices increasing and every addon costing just a bit more we thought it may be time to get AP's. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

I love my annual passes, we've had them for the last 3 years and yes you do try to squeeze in an extra trip over the year b/c it feels like it's for free. Plus you get good discounts on merchandise, free parking and rooms. Try the undercover tourist website, they have a calculator that shows which is the best ticket option for you. Good luck!

seems like you would be able to save some money. Two five day basic adult tickets (two trips for a total of ten days) would cost about $430 dollars. That's with no park hopping. An annual pass is only about $40 more which is less than the park hopper add on.

One strategy that some people use is to move vacation dates a little earlier every other year. For example if you generally go at the beginning of July, the following year's vacation may at the very end of June so it falls within the AP year.

In addition to the benefits list above, you should also consider a Tables in Wonderland card. You need about $360 in food expenditures to make it worthwhile. Alcohol at the participating locations is also discounted. If you are wine drinkers that threshold is easier to get.

That's been the dilema, see we are going August 29th this year. And we have another trip already planned for December to get a 7 day no exp pass would cost me about $338 vs the $470 for an AP and we will probably go May of next year. I never go during the summer to hot and to crazy. Seems like it would make sense to get an AP and then see what happens during the year if we renew or not. Guess I need to follow my own advice and "and suck it up cupcake"

Thanks guys for all of your help

we just got ours annual passes for the first time in July...and when I went to book our November trip, I saved big time on our rooms! (about $300)

we love the mini golf too, and we can get it 50% off..yeah!

love the coming and going, we never used to get park hoppers, and loved that we could go to Disney Quest for say 2 hours, and not feel like i wasted tons of money for a few games by buying the ticket separately (I have a teen)

I'm hoping to go back early next year and know i'll save again!

also there are discounts on some stores and dining...

wish i'd bought an annual pass earlier!

I love I don't have to buy park tickets for November - all ready have them, and for our June trip next year - all ready have them...ended up SAVING me a bunch of money!! Who knew?

November 2008- 9 days on DVC points
April 2009 - 8 days on DVC points
Sept. 2009 - 8 days at Port Orleans, bought a 1 day pass to get free dining.

25 disney days on an annual pass!

2010- no Disney trips planned, heading to the Caribbean. Bank DVC points

2011 - we'll do it all over again.

It all depends on how ofetn and how long you go. DO the math.

The coming and going is one of my favorite features of the AP!!

I guess I need to do some planning so that I can get a few uses out of them before they expire then I will feel good about the cost

I've now also convinced my husband that that we should book in Feb/March for a few days and take advantage of the room savings I get! haha...

so while I'm saving money, i'm spending money too -- if that makes sense by booking extra trips!

but eh, it's for Disney....so I'm excited!
