For the first time in a year or sending out resumes, I got a call back.
Bad news is, the job is really too far away from me.
Regardless, I talked to the headhunter for 40 minutes today, explaining how my background matches the job description. Since what I said and what was on my resume didn't exactly match (my resume was really geared toward a different job), she now wants me to write an essay about my experience, so she can share with the hiring company.
Should I do it? On one hand, I know the job will be too far away (unless I can figure out how to turn an 1hr 15min commute into 45 minutes). On the other hand, it's a good job and I'm thinking that it'd be a nice confidence boost to actually get an interview, and good practice to actually conduct and interview or two.
What do you think? Should I not waste the company or my time?

I think you should try for it. If it turns out that you would love the job, they want to hire you, etc., maybe you could think about taking it...even if you might have to move closer to the job....a fresh start may be nice...good luck!!!!!
