I totally agree on the being friends thing but it's kind of negated a bit by having Hermione end up with either one of them. I kinda wish they would have just let them all remain platonic and brought in other love interests like they had been having all along. I'm the same as you! One of my very best friends of 25 years or so is a guy, and a rather cute one, and although I find him to be a good looking person, we're just so close that it would feel gross lol. I could never see him in a romantic light even if I tried. One of us would tell a joke and it would all go to pieces.I love how Harry, who has no family, married Ginny and now is officially part of the Weasley family. They always treated him like their own and now Harry has a family.
Same goes for Hermione….. she obliviated her parents and now has no family. The Weasleys always welcomed her with open arms and now she is a part of their family too.
I am VERY glad Harry and Hermione did not get married. This is written for young adults, and I like how it shows that a boy and girl can be best friends and nothing more. One of my best friends for 35 years is a man, and we were never interested in more than friendship.
ETA….I’m a true Hufflepuff![]()
