This is my first time on the boards, first post, and FIRST CRUISE!!! Sorry lil excited...

I will be traveling in September with my son and his grandmother (my mother). I've been reading up on cruises for months now and I went this afternoon and booked and paid for it I've never been anywhere like this.

Any tips are very welcomed. Is this also where we sign up to participate in the fish extenders?

What is your best cruise planning advice? I love planning and organizing. It seems like there is so much to do. We will have to plan a 7 day cruise next!

List item #1 - RELAX - You're on vacation!

I like to look at recent Navigators to see what's happening each day. That way, I can plan for any "must do" items.

Think about things that need reservations (shore excursions, Palo, etc) and have them listed as favorites on the DCL website so they're ready to reserve when they open up.

Think about what to pack then take 1/2 of it out of the suitcase

If you're flying in, try to fly in the day before, just in case of delays.

Make sure you have all of your documentation ready. Check expiration dates on passports - they may not let you onboard if they're set to expire within 2 weeks of your departure.

Make copies of your passport, DL and credit cards - this will help if they're lost or stolen. Keep 1 copy in a safe place at home & a second copy in someone else's carry on.

Woot Woot! We are booked for our first Disney Cruise! I'm so excited. We've cruised numerous times on other lines...and now we're ready to go for the best! It will be myself (47-Vicky), my hubby of 20yrs (45-Don), our beautiful-and slightly spoiled daughter (3-Devan), and my best friend since kindegarten-and Devan's Fairy Godmother (47-Tammy).

Definately will be joining in on the FE (just put in my request on FB) and can't wait to start surfing the boards for tips and tricks. We've cruised Carnival the most----so can anyone give us tips on differences in preparation?

We live in the Orlando area and I drive by the port quite often....so hard to see the ships and have to wait for my cruise! If anyone needs info about the area, I'm happy to help out.

How many do you have? I've heard renting a van is cheaper... What hotel are you staying in before the cruise? Many of Them have an airport shuttle. I'll do some research at work tomorrow.

It's just two of us at DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel Cocoa Beach Oceanfront, they shuttle to port, but not airport. Thanks.
