Headed to CSR from September 3-11th! Will be our 3rd trip as a family of 4, and first time staying @ CSR (previously have stayed @ POR and CBR).

September can't get here fast enough. I am officially admitting that I am a Disney junkie... I can't go a day without thinking/reading about something having to do with Disney. I think it's hitting me extra hard this year (that itch to just be there) because of all of the snow/ice we've had in Ohio, especially this last week (although I know we haven't gotten even half of what the NE States have gotten this year).

210 days to go (according to my phone!). Happy planning everyone!! Only have to wait until March 7th to make dining reservations. :)

We haven't formalized dates yet until Southwest posts fares. But something along the lines of the 7 to the 15. Probably will stay at the Wilderness Lodge Villas again. Need to get one last trip in before the Annual passes expire.

Yes we are driving in September. I actually like the drive, and with four kids it is the only way we can go to Disney every couple of years. Flying is insanely expensive!!

Maybe I'll have to start trying more hot sauce :thumbsup2

I don't mind driving either. My kids are good travelers but for some reason think its going to be torture. I actually enjoy the ride and when I was a kid we drove to the Keys every year and didn't have Ipods or dvd players. We had a deck of cards and books. They have it easy!

Welcome E&As Mom! I have been playing Resort Roulette with CBR and POR. We have stayed at POR a few times and love it but want to try something new. Since you have stayed at both what are your thoughts? Right now we are booked at CBR.

We have had crummy weather too as of late. I can't wait for spring! We will be in Ohio for a few days over spring break to go to the Columbus zoo and Schmidts. Then were going to Cedar Point sometime this summer.

Well hi there!

I can't say anything bad about either POR or CBR. We stayed in the Magnolia Terrace (?) section @ POR... it's a really beautiful/romantic resort. The boat to DTD is a great little ride; nice way to travel. We were close to a bus stop, a couple minute walk to the main pool (which we didn't even use!) and about a 5-7 minute walk to the main lobby.

CBR is a "fun" resort to me. Love the theming... tropical feel, and cute rooms to boot! We were in the Martinique section. Very close to main building, bus stop, quiet pool and less than a 5 minute walk to food court/main pool. We had good bus service @ both resorts (never waited longer than 10 minutes for a bus to/from the parks). For us, truly, it's a coin toss on which one was better. In my honest opinion, I think you'll enjoy whichever one you stay at!! We're only staying @ CSR to try something new! :-)

We LOVE Schmidts (I grew up in German Village, and we live about 10-15 minutes away now) and of course, the zoo. We're thinking of doing a smaller vacation @ the beginning of June... may take our girls up to Lake Erie, spend a few days at Kalahari, a day @ Cedar Point, and then some time over @ Port Clinton.

Thanks for the warm welcome!

I've already started putting together my shopping list for wegoshopping. Is that crazy? lol So far it's just the staples: a case of water, soda, juice, yogurt. Nothing too crazy! I'm also toying around with possibly upgrading us to CL. :yay:

Just wanted to pop in and say hi.... I've taken a bit of a break from disney-dreaming due to a death in the family :( But I'm still stopping in and taking notes from all you excited WDW lovers!

So sorry to hear that mayfam

Disneydreamin - if you are crazy for making your grocery lists - know you are not alone ;)

Love Port Clinton. I spent every summer there when I was younger :) My family has a bunch of cottages up there :)

I think we will stick with CBR this trip to try something new. I hope we love it!

We have never been to Schmidts, we saw it on Man V. Food and my kids said we have to go there when we go to the Columbus zoo. Ohio has the best zoos!

I think next winter we may try Kalahari, the other indoor waterparks don't appeal to us anymore now that the boys are getting older. Dh and I worked at Cedar Point one summer long ago. It will be the first time we've been back since the kids were little. No more Camp Snoopy for us!

Just wanted to pop in and say hi.... I've taken a bit of a break from disney-dreaming due to a death in the family :( But I'm still stopping in and taking notes from all you excited WDW lovers!

Sorry for your loss.

well my weren't you all chatty?

Staying at the Polynesian for the first time - any advice or suggestions on Longhouses?
Also, we have three kids - balcony or patio?

Thanks!

how old are your kids? we stayed in Fiji on the marina side, top floor with a balcony and I loved it. Some people with small children like the patios b/c they are able to just open the doors and let them run in the grass. Are you GV or LV or TPV?

So today was the day we were going to be getting in the car and driving to Disney. I wasn't looking forward to this day but now that 5 out of the 6 of have temps, congestion, aches, coughs and runny nose I am actually pretty relieved we are not going to be in the car for 20+ hours.

Now I am just hoping for a healthy September!!
Hope everyone feels better soon! Isn't it weird how those types of things work out? we've had that happen before, too!

We literally went straight from stomach bug to whatever this is. My son actually came down with both at the same time. My husband is the only one not sick, and I am fine with that as he is a pain when he is sick. I do envy his immune system though. Must be all the hot sauce.....
So that's what it takes??? Hot sauce?? Who knew??????

So sorry for your loss. Hope you are back with us soon.:grouphug:

:rotfl: Only a DISer would say that!
So true!! ::yes::

Kicking around adding a day to the beginning of the trip so that we would get there late on thursday and have all day Friday instead of coming in late on Fri night.
Haven't done it yet... so LH, you don't have to change me.... yet. popcorn::

Forgot to say Welcome to all the New September travelers!!:goodvibes

We have stayed at both CBR and POR and love them both! :lovestruc I would recommend either anyday.

I do give a slight edge to CBR for larger rooms, more storage space in the bathroom area, and a better pool. We are going back to CBR this time, but will probably take a little trip over to POR for dinner & to see Piano Bob!

I've been toying with the idea of CL too. . . I just can't decide if it's worth it or not. . . :confused3

I did the Disney math on it for us and even if we went with the regular DDP instead of DxDP, it still came out to considerably more money. Also I know DH and I both like starting our day off with TS breakfast , infact the time we were upgraded to CL at YC DH and I never visited the lounge at all, both DS's did though.

I think for your family it could be worth it since you all are not big eaters in the AM it seems from reading your TR, you head back usually to the resort in the afternoons so you can take advantage of the offerings then too , also not sure if you enjoy a drink or two in the evenings but that is a nice thing about CL.
Are the views where CL rooms are located better at the Poly?

DH and I no longer drink either due to medications we are on so no appeal there for us either.

After reading about CL on this thread today I figured I would look it up to see exactly what the perks are and it mentioned that at the Poly the lounge area is a nice place to watch fireworks, so that is one good view.

I'm not even staying on site so I am obviously way too much a cheap skate for CL. :thumbsup2

Not cheap-frugal. :) The perks of CL can really be nice and you can feel very special coming back to your room with the beds turned down and a chocolate on the pillow. When we were upgraded every day the concierge would call and ask if there was anything he could do for us. I hear now you also get a gold KTTW.

But I looked at the offerings for breakfast etc, cold cereal, juices, coffee, pastries, muffins thing is when we are on vacation DH likes a BIG breafast, steak & eggs , pancakes etc , he has cereal most days at home, so CL is just not something I see us ever booking.

I have seen many talk of how much $ CL saves them eating Breakfast and during the day in the lounge, free soda, bottled water etc I can not see it saving us money, not the way DH likes to eat, I might have to hide or die of embrassment when DH wiped out all the food in the lounge :lmao:

Me and my husband are making a short 5th wedding anniversary trip to Magic Kingdom, Discovery Cove and Busch Gardens Sept 10th to Sept 14. But of course I had to stay on Disney Property. We always stay deluxe but we wanted to stay cheap to save for our Hawaii vacation so we arre doing ASMusic. Its just a room to sleep
