Springtime Surprise 2026 (Apr 16-20)

I think they just need to update their etiquette reminders and say that you have to keep it moving as you approach the on-course photogs. No stopping, no posing, no backtracking because you didn't get the shot you wanted. There was a story recently about someone who ran a marathon in China who saw a photo opportunity and decided to do the splits, she's now been banned.

I don't get how did she think that is a good idea … not only for the people, but for the photo itself

Aside from being horrible and dangerous etiquette, how TF did she do that mid race?!

I assume she jumped right into it, it looks like the race had a turn and she was on the outside of it, maybe thinking far enough to be away from anyone behind her but obviously that one guy wasn’t expecting this and another was too close as well.

My question was less how she did that and more how she got up after doing that because my legs would be screaming.

I do place the blame on some of these crazy phot antics on influencers. It makes everyone else want to capture that perfect Instagram shot. My worry is someone gets really hurt (likely not the one who caused it) and then we end up with fewer Photopass opportunities.
Hilariously, all my best on-course photos are when I'm actually moving and not posing other than doing a thumbs-up or peace sign or whatever.

It all depends how close you're going relative to max speed/training.

If you're doing party pace, properly trained it's no problem.

If you're undertrained and hitting towards your upper pace range, you'll look like a zombie that was electrocuted to death trying to shuffle forward with spasmed muscles. (I've been both.)

Had a relatively easy travel day, enjoyed some QT with friends, and got my bibs quickly… can’t ask for much more on arrival day! (Maybe a few degrees cooler would be okay, though…) Just finished dinner and am winding down for an early bedtime. Hoping to make it to the lightpole but won’t be able to stay long - if you see a tiger masquerading as a Jedi, say hi! 👋

Doing 10k tomorrow. Arrived today. No one at SSR has any clue about transportation. No signs anywhere. The runDisney site says busses run until 5a. The Mrs says the busses end far earlier? We r last corral and don’t want to be standing around for two hours. Also have a car if it’s worth driving. Thoughts?

In theory buses should run between 3 and 5am. Last corral start time is around 6am. So if you don’t mind the character photos pre race and ambiance there, you could drive and plan to be there 5.40ish..

5 sounds like it’d be cutting it close. I’m at the Poly and the runDisney guy said our last bus is at 4:20. Somehow I got into Coral D so I’m going to try and get there before it closes at 5:15, according to the SS digital guide.

Busses for all of the other race weekends I’ve done at SSR pick up across from “The Springs” bus stop. The race bus does NOT drive around to the various stops like a park bus, it only picks up at that one location. IME there is usually only 1 sign at SSR and its outside kind of between the horse statue, the doors to Artist’s Palate, and the top of the main pool.

Driving yourself is pretty easy, but I would advise to leave a little earlier than you think and then just sit in your car once you are parked. It *IS* a bit of a walk to go up through security and then over to the race area.

The bus situation at pop was maddness I just missed the cut for bus 1 that arrived at 230 and pulled out immediately after full

Bus 2 finally came 237 filled up driver started pulling out stopped got off came back drives to AoA parks gets off finally hopefully on way

A bus was just leaving Music when I walked up at 2:52. The bus behind it pulled up, let on about half a dozen people (including me) and left 😄. I guess we’re stopping at Movies, even though they have a bus waiting already??

Edit: the bus boss at Movies was like “you already picked people up? You can just go”

I just got to the light pole and there’s 2 trucks today, and one has their generator right next to our spot. So I’m at the table 15 or so feet towards the gear trucks instead—we might actually be able to hear each other 😄

Hubby and I running late so doubt we have time for meet up at flagpole since we’re are in last corral. Have a great run friends!
