I have to say yes and no.
I have read, but don't know first hand...that if what you want is available they will switch the reservation, but have heard some people have had to change dates, or hotels. Also I have heard that some have said that they have had to put another deposit down and got a refund later on for the first one.
Also, last year the Free dining went until Sept 22 I beleive. If you booked by that date you could have your whole trip with free dining. I have heard this year it may not be that way. You might only be able to have free dining only on the dates they do it. but.. I also heard a rumor they may run it inot Oct as well, so you never know.
I agree with Micknpluto, you CAN wait until April (if that is when it is announced) to make your reservation. We have done that the last 3 years with free dining and never had a problem. This year we are booked, only because of the bounceback from last September.

If you want, there is no harm in booking early. You just might have to make some changes, but if it is worth it to you to have a room, go ahead & do it.
Have been reading about all these codes and free dining options. Where exactly do they come from and how do you get them? I'm planning a Sept. '08 trip and would love to stay in a moderate resort instead of value. Do you have to call and make a reservation before you can get a code?? Please help.![]()
No- check these boards to see when it is announced and call that morning so you get exactly what you want! The code is usually found here on the front page of the DIS or in your Sunday paper. Disney Visa holders can usually book a week ahead of the public.

We've stayed at the CBR the past 3 years with free dining and never had a problem booking it.
