well, i officially booked today and the cm was the one to mention that i was booking at a time when there may be free dining. i didn't raise the issue at all. i think if they for sure weren't going to do it, the cm wouldn't have mentioned it. so...i'm sure crossing my fingers!!!!!

my room rate will go up $25 per night (no AAA discount) BUT that means a potential of 8 meals and 4 snacks per day---well worth $25!!

i'm so excited!

btw - she specifically said to check back in april for the announcement (if there is one)

Just posting to get us back to top. Some of us are just a little over a month before we can book ADR's:cool1:

Yeah I know. I am getting really excited about that, only 39 days left. Now if only Disney would post the August and September Park hours, I can begin making descisions.:goodvibes

I'm waiting for the hours too, so I can work my meals into the right days! (we plan our trip around eating....)popcorn::

Make my ADRs on March 10th!:dance3:

wooohooooooo!!

I just called last night and put the deposit down for our September trip with our extended family!!! :cool1: :cool1: We will have 4 rooms at the POR and I put all the deposits for our "Grand gathering" on my Disney Visa. I asked the cm if free dining was offered as it has been during that time, could I call and switch all of our group over to the free dining since all the deposits were on the Disney Visa? (We I made the reservation a week or so ago the cm told me that would work and be my best bet.) She indicated that it might only apply to 3 of the rooms in our group??? Does anyone know about this? She indicated that the flier explaining the details and what was allowed would come with our statement. My friend has had the Disney Visa for several years and she always hears about the offer on boards and/or mousesavers- I asked her and she doesn't remember getting a flier in with her statement? Does anyone know anything to help me- I hate feeling responsible for everyone's hope for free dining in our group!

Wow. I don't know but I'm sure someone here may be able to answer your question. Would it be possible to put one of the other rooms under another name. Just a quess.:confused3

We also have 4 rooms at POR in sept, and I don't know anything about this! Interested in hearing responses, though! We were told it wouldn't be a problem.:confused3

Well I'm jumping on board to hopefully hear about free dining if offered. How does Disney announce it usually? Do they post it on there site? If so where ?

Stay posted here. Also keep checking on mousesavers.com, allearsnet.com. Someone will see it and post it here when it comes out. It has been released in April so that is what were looking for.

Thanks!

Anotehr question...
I see alot of people booking rooms now and plan on adding the dining plan if it comes out for free. But from my understanding, you can't add it, but have to make a whole new reservation. So why bother booking now, when that reservation is not going to be any good anyways if you do the dining plan. I thought they only had so many rooms for free dining and it's a whole different reservation.

So you know you have a room reserved. Yes, when switching to a package, people need to cancel & rebook the room. But by booking a room only, people sometimes feel better knowing they have a room for the dates they want, in the hotel they want.

Yes, because we plan on going anyway, with or without dining. I guess it would be different if we were only going IF there was free dining.

OK - I have a question - which is a better deal?
40% off the room, with the tickets and dining(reg ddp) or the free dining?

I have a package booked at the AKL Savanna view - with 8 day hopper tickets ( 2 adults 2 children) no water parks, and the regular dining package and had a code for 40% off the room.

If you crunch the numbers, it will depend on your resort and ages of children.

40% off resort could be more than the dining plan. But if you have kids 10 or over and have to pay adult price for the dining, then the dining could work out to cost more.

Figure what you're saving per night at the AKL (40% savings times # of days)- and then what the dining plan cost for the 4 of you to get the dining. (dining cost (Ad. or child) x # of nights)
