I have to say yes and no.
I have read, but don't know first hand...that if what you want is available they will switch the reservation, but have heard some people have had to change dates, or hotels. Also I have heard that some have said that they have had to put another deposit down and got a refund later on for the first one.
Also, last year the Free dining went until Sept 22 I beleive. If you booked by that date you could have your whole trip with free dining. I have heard this year it may not be that way. You might only be able to have free dining only on the dates they do it. but.. I also heard a rumor they may run it inot Oct as well, so you never know.

I agree with Micknpluto, you CAN wait until April (if that is when it is announced) to make your reservation. We have done that the last 3 years with free dining and never had a problem. This year we are booked, only because of the bounceback from last September.popcorn::

If you want, there is no harm in booking early. You just might have to make some changes, but if it is worth it to you to have a room, go ahead & do it.

Have been reading about all these codes and free dining options. Where exactly do they come from and how do you get them? I'm planning a Sept. '08 trip and would love to stay in a moderate resort instead of value. Do you have to call and make a reservation before you can get a code?? Please help.:)

No- check these boards to see when it is announced and call that morning so you get exactly what you want! The code is usually found here on the front page of the DIS or in your Sunday paper. Disney Visa holders can usually book a week ahead of the public.

We've stayed at the CBR the past 3 years with free dining and never had a problem booking it.:goodvibes (FYI we do book the morning it becomes available to Disney Visa)

Thanks for the info. Will I need to keep checking this thread each day for the codes or will I need to check the DIS home?? :cheer2:

Being subscribed to this thread..you will know most likely as soon as it is announced. Don't look to see it till April though.

My husband googled free dining on the internet and read a rumor that you must stay at a moderate or deluxe resort to qualify for free dining this year. He said that was what they have already offered in the UK. Has anyone else heard this? We have officially booked for September 5th-13th at POR:woohoo: :woohoo: We are also Disney Visa holders and praying for free dining:thumbsup2

That is true. No one knows what or if anything is going to be offered here.

omg

i hope this does not mean what it seems to mean!!!! we wanted to stay at pop. if we have to bump up to POR at rack rate, there go the savings!!!!

wow, this thread is getting more interesting every day...lol

Ok, OK... soo i didnt know (because I didnt go last year) they offered this every year for september? I know in 06' i booked april 1st (my friend was a cardholder) it was a great deal!! I wish they would offer the same. But we always stay at POp so I hope they open it up to value as well again this year. If i had to stay in one of the All-Stars that would be fine too.

I have a question????

Does anyone remember if every year it was offered through the end of September? Like I said in an earlier post, we want to book sept 20th to 27th.

thanks
=)

My wife and I were at Pop Oct 07 and we had a flyer in our room for a bounce back promo for free dinning (late August thru Sept.) So I am thinking that free dinning will be offered for value resorts too.

I've heard that you can get codes from Disney or if you belong to AAA or if you book online and if you order things from Disney. I am waiting for the answer my self and we also are planning to visit in Sept. but once I find out, I will let you know.

Sure... ::yes:: you will be making two ressies right? Just make both with the Free Dining code. Only thing: With that long of a stay, are you getting an AP? If so, you will have to book a 1 day ticket with each stay since you need to have a package to qualify for the dining.popcorn::

I know... we booked our bounceback the morning we left! Talk about pressure!!:scared: I'm hoping for a dining offer so we can switch to a villa... pixiedust:

We went last year mid aug, how can i get a bounceback offer, is it offer to anyone, or where can i go to get one? Thanx!:goodvibes

The bounce back is only good if you have a flyer in your room when you get to your resort. Also you have to book before you check out with the code on the flyer. As for the dates I believe they were from Aug 18th or 25th tru Sept 27th. Sept 27th I know for sure because we wanted to book and go because our annual passes expire on Oct 6th.

My family and my parents are going together. When the codes come out will I be able to book both of our rooms with 1 code or will it just be valid for 1 of them?

You will be able to book both. They will both have to be under your name I believe.

^^ and through the END of September? like at least through sept 27th:idea:

Like I said before, last year the last day was Sept 22, but if you were in on that day, it would be good for the whole stay. Now rumors this year are saying that it will on on whatever the last day is, and any days after will not have free dining. But those are rumors. And like I said before another rumor is that it will go inot Oct. So it's anyones guess at this point.

It seems like some people reported not being able to use the 40% off code - regardless of check-in date. I would think this trend would be the same...

You might want to go the 40% off thread and confirm that there.
