Actually, none of the corks there were from either cruise, but some in this picture were from both

Recognise your cork ? :rotfl:

Hello everyone, I have posted on and off a few times but I was inspired by another thread to tell everyone about my son. You'll see me holding a little boy with a funny looking lip and a helmet on his head. You might see me feeding him at dinner from my finger instead of a spoon. You might see me feeding him with a strange looking bottle that I have to squeeze. At the time of the cruise my DS will be 10 months I am hoping that he will be eating babyfood and able to sit in a highchair at dinner. My DS Dominic has a ceft lip and palate, two heart defects, and he has a neck condition that has affected the shape of his head so he now wears a helmet. I am sharing this because if you see me and are curious about something feel free to ask. If your kids notice him tell them to come over and ask all the questions they want. I am always ready to answer questions about Dominic. I know it looks funny for a little baby to be wearing a helmet, I know people will stare, I know I would! So if you see me ask me anything you want!

I don't know if this has been asked -- I'm so far behind in my reading!

Do any of you know of any "local" hang outs that are terrific when we get to our little islands in Caribbean? Thought it might be fun to sample the local cuisine, but don't really know where to go.

Leslye

We had some good food on St. john years ago, @ the fish shack.
and also on St. Thomas @ Victors hide away !
taxi driver told us .. :rotfl:

Have you cruised on Disney before? Not sure if you read Nate's story a couple years ago. His mom mentioned being worried about getting stares, etc. (not to suggest you are or anything) and was surprised how few she got. I'm really glad you'll be joining us :goodvibes Thank you for sharing that with us! We'll know immediately that you are part of the group when we see the helmet.

Scott, Thank you! He is a miracle! I feel funny writing that I just wanted people to know who we were before they saw us!

Is it a lime green helmet .. :thumbsup2

Can bring some DVC stickers for it, or you can get them onboard.

No worries here from what I have gathered this is a nice group of cruisers. :teeth:
Not like the ones on the Cruise last May !! :rotfl: :lmao:

Hugs for Dominic. :grouphug:

hygiene99, thank you! Winotracy, this will be our first cruise! We also have a DD 2 so I am really scared. To be honest I am scared about people staring. We took him to WDW in may before his second cleft repair, it was torture. He wore a plate in his mouth that had metal bars that went into his nose! People were walking into things trying to stare at him. I have not read Nate's story do you know where I might be able to find it? Again thank you!

Hi Gabby's Mom-
I know this all too well! My older sister seems to have "interesting" boys. Her eldest boy was born with a cleft palate- long, long, long story made short- he looks beautiful today, after many surgeries. He still needs a few more surgeries after they accidentally spliced his tear duct- but he is a great kid and is doing wonderful.

Her second youngest boy- needed a helmet after he was 3 months old. His was really cute- and I believe had had it off before he was 1. (He's almost 8 now)

However, no congenital heart defect.

If you have any questions of what to expect down the road- feel free to ask me. Or- if you need someone to snuggle your little one- hand him over, I'll feed him anyday!

Don't feel funny at all, I think you will experience a great deal of genuine warmth from this great group of crazy people.

And you are going to have a great cruise.
