Do any of you know of any "local" hang outs that are terrific when we get to our little islands in Caribbean? Thought it might be fun to sample the local cuisine, but don't really know where to go.

You'll see me holding a little boy with a funny looking lip and a helmet on his head. You might see me feeding him at dinner from my finger instead of a spoon. You might see me feeding him with a strange looking bottle that I have to squeeze. At the time of the cruise my DS will be 10 months I am hoping that he will be eating babyfood and able to sit in a highchair at dinner. My DS Dominic has a ceft lip and palate, two heart defects, and he has a neck condition that has affected the shape of his head so he now wears a helmet. I am sharing this because if you see me and are curious about something feel free to ask. If your kids notice him tell them to come over and ask all the questions they want. I am always ready to answer questions about Dominic. I know it looks funny for a little baby to be wearing a helmet, I know people will stare, I know I would! So if you see me ask me anything you want!

gabbysmom04 said:hygienne, thank you! Winotracy, this will be our first cruise! We also have a DD 2 so I am really scared. To be honest I am scared about people staring. We took him to WDW in may before his second cleft repair, it was torture. He wore a plate in his mouth that had metal bars that went into his nose! People were walking into things trying to stare at him. I have not read Nate's story do you know where I might be able to find it? Again thank you!
Nate's Storywinotracy said:Have you cruised on Disney before? Not sure if you read Nate's story a couple years ago. His mom mentioned being worried about getting stares, etc. (not to suggest you are or anything) and was surprised how few she got. I'm really glad you'll be joining usThank you for sharing that with us! We'll know immediately that you are part of the group when we see the helmet.
