Good morning folks. Drove to the beach last night, which was killing me at midnight but it sure was nice to take the dog for his walk this morning with the ocean as our backdrop.

Big plans this weekend to work on my post-cruise plans for wdw. I want to make sure our dinner plans aren't right in the middle of the parades or fireworks. We've decided to fly Bill's d-sister 13 down for the wdw portion of the trip. We were going to add her for the cruise but figured we'd start small with wdw and add her to the cruise next year if all goes well. We've got experience with ds-8 but no experience with teenage girls. My paraglegal swears they are an entirely different experience from raising boys.

I'm behind in my 5 post a day so i'm going to try to double up this weekend. We'll see if it works.

I can attest to that. In addition to DS6 that will be with us on the cruise we have DD14. She is staying home this time as she cannot miss that much school right at the beginning of the school year. (1st year in high school) Girls are definitely a whole different ballgame and in my opinion a challenge :tinker: I love her to death, but oy the hormones....... I don't know how my parents survivied. LOL (BTW- she is getting her own special trip with a friend to WDW-premium pkg- without her little brother to make up for not being able to go on the cruise this time)

OK, we may be back on the cruise. I just got an e-mail with an amazing deal for the 10 and 11 nights. Keep your fingers crossed- it all depends on DH being able to get the vacation time. We had switched to a Mexico trip for our 10 year anniversary because it was much less but now this deal comes up! :p

Welcome back Patricia! :cheer2:

Was this amazing deal better than reg Florida resident rates? I may need to add an extra cabin.

I'm caught up, again. Wow, things have been hopping around here today. I just sent one of my patients who was trying to climb out of bed to the OR, hopefully she'll be better when she returns.

party: Happy Birthday Miss Margaret! party:

Having lived here premouse you always know someone who works for the mouse. I can't remember the last time I paid to go to one of the parks. We do spend money once there, but not on addmission tics. I think I still have 3 days left on park hoppers I bought back right before AK opened.

Living in Florida now is getting to be a pretty pricecy proposition. I married a fourth generation Floridian and we are fortunate to have lived in our current home for 19 years. In the same (used to be) small town for 25 years. I would not want to be a young couple just starting out. Insurance is really hurting everyone, young and old.

I could tell you a long rambling story about the bible and the liqour thing in our house. (long rambling stories being a tradition in our family) however, I will just say that when the issue comes up it ends with a comment on the order of: Jesus's first public miracle was changing water into wine. Then that is followed by yeah, well that doesn't count. He did it for his MOTHER. This is about the time I go fix a watermelon martini and head for the pool.
(disclaimer. please don't take any of this out of context. I respect everyones veiws on religion, the bible, drinking etc. what you do is your business)

You are a lady after my own heart, we share the same view! :teeth:

Well, looks like I'll know at least 1 at the Martini tastings on the Wonder :stir:

Speaking of Watermelon Martinis, every tried a Watermelon Jolly Rancher Martini? I know this is a family board, so if you would like to know how to make it, just PM. It is easy and verrrrry tasty! :lovestruc :lovestruc

Just wanderin' over to our thread ant noticed we've tacked on another 109 posts since 'bout 7PM last nite. Shoot... this is really an amazing clip. With the weekend coming I'd estimate by Sunday some time we might see 8,000! And as previously posted I'll take the idea of opening a 2nd window to heart. Or... do you suppose Sniper (It's a site for preprogrammed last minute Ebay bids) will post for me at 7999? :confused3

So - I'm at the Marriott Bakersfield. Not quite as far away as I thought... but it's gonna be relatively HOT with 98 forecast! I'll the kids swimming after they finish resting after breakfast - yeah it's nearly 10AM and we let 'em sleep cuz I only "just" woke up. I've worked without a boss (doin' the same thing) for 15-16 years and never had an early morning schedule - so this is my usual routine. It's gonna be a shock for me when 1st grade starts and I or my spouse has to wake up by 7 every weekday!

OK = gotta run for the moment....

TTFN! :wave2:

What is everyone doing the day before? I know about Scott's Wine and Cheese meet and the Rad. meet and the Celebration tour...but what about everyone else. As for us, we will be driving down Sat. morning to WDW, we have res. at the POP CENTURY. We are planning on going to DOWNTOWN Disney for a little shopping, my wife loves the Christmas shop (our tree is nothing but DISNEY) and we promised our 5 yo he could go to the LEGO store.

We're gonna MAYbE watching our little 5 year old in her swim meet championship! Or maybe not. As if we can stand-by for an earlier flight into MCO then we'll go that route. Our 5 year old is a great little swimmer - able to go down to the bottom of a 9' pool and recover/hang there... and that was when she was 3.5 years old! HOWEVER... against the 6 year olds who she swims against she is challenged as she is just barely learning the proper strokes for the various events. SO - if we decide to duck out of the champion ship swim meet to catch an early flight (space available?) then - so be it. The coach said it was cool - with slight reservations. Our little girl has about a dozen ribbons from this 1st season - we figure it's enough given the stifling heat we've endured at these things!

SO - on saturday nite - if we get the earlier flight as we're sort of hoping to do - then we'll make the wine n cheese party (is THAT when it is? Shoot, I thought it was ON the ship - not pre-cruise!).... or we'll do the swim championship in the morning then scoot for out late afternoon sceduled flight. Landing late at MCO we'll just check in at MCO for the nite. In the morning we'll head on out to the Wonder for an early (or late)check in. Coming in like everyone else might not work out as we expect CROWDS... so it's gonna be EARLY or LATE.... well... who am I kidding? We're flying out from the west coast - and we sleep and rise late - so it's gonna be LATE as in 2PM or so before we board. That's how it's been on our last 3 Disney sailings. Well... actually... the hurricane Frances embarkation was the exception as we got BUSSED down to Fort Lauderdale for that one. :confused3

Welcome aboard Sunny to you and your family!!!!

So... are you up for a Challenge? DO you think you can be the fastest DISer embarked at downing a Mickey Ice Cream bar? Well... if not then being in 15th place should still net you an award certificate signed by the captain of the Wonder! And, of course, if you can manage 1st, 2nd or 3rd place we have just finalized plans for some rather SPECTACULAR TROPHY PRIZES! Yes... truly stupendous and amazing trophy prizes await those victorious few who can emerge as the 1st, 2nd or 3rd place finishers in either the over or under age 15 classes! Plus we might have a special consulation prize for the SLOWEST overall finisher! :lmao:

Film at 11 (to quote another creative DISer)

When you first announced the race, I pictured the China's? guy stuffing all those hot dogs in his mouth....since you claified that it's only 1 bar, count me in. I was talking to my wife about it and I voiced my concern about BRAIN FREEZE and she said the only way I could get brain freeze is if I sat on a Mickey Bar...I think there was a dig in there because she fell off the bed :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl: :rotfl:

Hey, wait a minute, Now that's just not NICE  I have to love her, there no place to hide the body...OK, Just kidding everyone. :rolleyes1 :rolleyes1
