That's cool! Our company orders a LOT of volvo's. We prefer these trucks to all others. The ride just cannot be beat. It is truly the Caddilac of semi's. We get a new one about every year. The main problem we have noticed is these headlight harnesses burn out like crazy! They sure are nice on the space. Ours is a Volvo 780with the pop-up table and windows in the sleeper. :thumbsup2 It's like a mini RV that makes us $$$! We'll try to keep it in road. Most of the time it's other people not paying attention to us that gets us into sticky situations. Have you seen the new 880 Volvo's? They sure are weird looking! They are supposed to be able to pull a full load (40,000lbs in the box) up hill @65mph. Impressive! Our truck is an automatic so it slows WAY down on hills. Thanks for the well wishes!

I know about the 4 wheelers not paying attention....I feel that EVERYONE needs to go on just one trip in a semi, to see just how crazy people are and how close some of them come to becoming a statistic. I went on a short trip with my BIL (my SIL and her husband do the same thing that you and your DH do, but with Kennasaw)and it made me realize just what idiots people can be in regards to 18 wheelers!!!
I was with Volvo when the ITS was introduced...boy that was a long time ago...I must be getting up their!!!

Kennesaw is a great employee owned company! We almost went to work for them but they would only hire people over 25 and at the time I was only 21. I think that everyone should ride in a semi. Our company (USXpress) sends out all of their higher ups (department heads) in a truck over the road for a week. It's a job requirement, as it should be. People really should respect our size as well. You wouldn't believe how many people almost become a statistic with us every single day! SCARY!! Nice to know someone on here has been on a truck! You have a little insight into our crazy lives

PIT.... I may have missed it but is your DH going to join in on the GSF?

And BTW, how many of us are there... any #s yet?

We need to start a check in party:

Tink, I think you mentioned somewhere that Rancho Cucamonga was one of your stops. That happens to be my neck of the woods. let me know when you are in the area, maybe we could meet for lunch or something. i'm assuming by the theater you were referring to Ontario Mills mall??

Take care!

What??? 19 pages to catch up on? I miss one day and this is what happens. Okay, I am sure someone will be going for the 7000 post soon! And, I only have about 15 minutes before I take my son to Pre-K this morning!! Everyone is doing their share of the 10 a day, I guess.

I may get caught up by tomorrow!!

Good morning everyone! I'm back at work- again. :thumbsup2 I may get to work some over time tomorrow, which would help pay for pictures and all of the fun stuff we want to do....Here's to hoping.

If not, I can always use the time to study...I have an exam on Friday. :wizard:

Scott, I will be going to the 3rd Dr this week about the shoulder this afternoon.. Surgery looks like the road we're headed down. Still on steroids and hydrocodone. What kind of shape were you in a couple of weeks out of surgery? I'm wondering about having this done before the trip. Like next week? Or trying to put it off untill after the trip.

2. :sad2: Sorry, to hear about your shoulder! My DH had to have his shoulder scoped and cleaned after his motorcycle fiasco! It was no fun on the recovery - especially for me!! And, he still has trouble - small amount of nerve damage now they say!! Anyway - hope your better soon! And, if you get the operation prior to the cruise - speedy recovery!!

You know you are a Floridian when: You decide your patio furniture looks OK in the bottom of the pool and you start inventing pool games around it.

3. You know you are a Floridian when: you realize that Palm trees really look good bending and touching the ground - they are just getting their summer workout! :lmao:

FYI - last night, a tornado went through my sister-n-law's (in Lakeland) subdivision. Fences were torn out and up, trees destroyed, etc. I haven't checked the news to see what else yet. It's Tropical season!

Gotta go for now, taking my son to Pre-K!!

Ok, so I have been the butt of a joke :cool1: Just know that if I called my ds "step" it would really hurt his feelings! I knew that drawing attention to my age would trample my credibility here! :rotfl: My dd is 19, go ahead, take your best shot! :rolleyes1 :listen: I'm tough, remember I drive truck!
Papa- we will be heading straight through Nashville in about 43 more miles. We will do our best DCL horn impression with the air horns as we pass through for you!
And for the record, MY BRATS think I'm the KEWLEST! :grouphug:

Now a big rig DCL horn would be really KEWL!!!! I think that could be done.

Oh yes, I think the only credibile thing here is that we are all  in our own special way, and that is a good thing.
