Hey at 7:00 PM MST on the Discovery Time channel there is a program about the pirate Morgan, should be good.

Tom I am game

1) Favorite beverage- If really thirsty – powerade, water, then Ice tea. With Alcohol – Bourbon and water, preferably Bookers Bourbon, then Makers. Rum and a fruit juice is always good.

2) Favorite Color - Blue

3) Favorite Childhood Character (it can be non-Disney ... if U dare!) – The Little Engine that Could. Truly a life print for me.

4) Favorite Disney Dish (spouses are a valid option) Are we talking food here?, then it might be the Mango Soup and Shrimp.

5) Favorite moment from ANY cruise (or vacation for those 1st timers out there!) Sunrise and Sunset, for it was a day that had not been lived in at sunrise and as the sunset I hope I have lived it to the fullest.

Back to lifting weights to get ready to carry the Bubba Keg. LOL

This is my 12th post of the day!! Does that mean that I can slack off tomorrow? :lmao:

Holy SMOKES.....!!!!

If we assume a little over a year means a year and a month - we can keep it simple and just say you ran your puppy 400 days! Factoring in a month of vacation and a month off for pee breaks and actually taking time off - then that would be 900 miles a day! At 70 MPH that's an average of 12.85 hours a day of driving. Does the NHTSA and DOT allow that? Er, rather - is 70MPH as an annual average "play"? Cuz that implies you're doing 70+ sometimes to make up for all that under 70 MPH navigating in town at at any stops.

So... at 65MPH avergae annual speed this translates into 13.85 hours a day - every day for 400 on the road excursions.

All I can add now is a humble ... "Wow".... :thumbsup2

Needless to say - you must tag team driving pairs to enable this sort of sustained performance averaged over a year.

Put another way... every 4 years you probably see a MILLION MILES roll by! At that rate - you've got the Apollo astronauts beat on distance travelled (possibly). You must have been almost EVERYWHERE in the lower 48 + maybe some in Canada too!

I'm not counting - but I figure I'm getting close to my daily "10" now.... :woohoo:
Very good again! My dh and I each can legally drive 11 hours a day and he drives nights and I drive days. Our truck only goes 65mph. We are trying for our million miles of SAFE driving with no accidents. That is a HUGE deal in the trucking industry. Neither of us have ever had an accident so I guess we are on track.

Celeste is having a ball analyzing these responses, we may have to change the cruise mane to a floating psycho ward. Wasn’t that from Muppets Treasure Island’s Cabin Fever.

Okay, here is the updated "floor monitor" list. Thanks for agreeing to post outside your door!

Floor Monitors so far:

2- Aphoenix (Tony and Adrienne)
5-
6- scrappy910 (Carol and Joe)
7- Bluewaves (Linda and Brian)
8- Tigger&Bubba (Dianna and Lamar)

Just need a taker for deck 5? Any lurkers out there willing to do this?

Linda
SO, OK, we're on the 5th deck. But before we assume any responsibility -- after all we're on vacation, right -- what do we have to do to be the floor monitor. If we've got to do some real work, then maybe we're not on the 5th deck. :rolleyes1 :sad2:

Say ...

... before I cut out for a few hours (gotta pick up my daughter from school - make em' some supper then I'm off for the evening to "hang" with a cousin whos' relocating to Southern Cal).... how about a friendly little Q&A game? This ought to give us a thinly vieled excuse for putting on another quick series of postings before midnite!

Here goes - it's very simple - just answer the Qs below and if you think my thinking is off - add or modify a Q as you see fit... and the community can pick it up from there....

1) Favorite beverage
2) Favorite Color
3) Favorite Childhood Character (it can be non-Disney ... if U dare!)
4) Favorite Disney Dish (spouses are a valid option)
5) Favorite moment from ANY cruise (or vacation for those 1st timers out there!)

There it is ... almost a quasi "get to know" sort of thing that should not be too intrusive.... wanna play? I figure with the added insanity from this posting we might score a quick ... HUNDRED plus postings .... in 180 minutes. Three hours before most folks turn in for the nite!!!!

Gotta go now...

Cheers!!!!

Man-o, man-o, man

After spending 2 days in a custody trial with a controlling client, right now:

favorite beverage is a short glass of Bailey's Irish Creme on the rocks; favorite color is blue -- the color of the sky at Castaway Key;favorite character is Pink Panther (I have no idea why, I just liked him); favorite Disney Dish is the creme brulee (the waiter would bring me several to take back to the room for snacks); favorite moment on any cruise is simply having some quality time with my family and the blessing of being in love, every day w/my wonderful husband  and adorable son.

How do you think I became the keeper of the cell phone list?? It just happened and all of a sudden I started getting cell phone numbers....which I will compile & email two weeks prior.

HEY T- here is a tip for the newsletter and everyone reading right now...

Did you know that many of the cell phone companies with "nationwide" coverage will allow you to call home from St. Thomas without roaming fees? I know Sprint does- or atleast they did with my husband's plan. I think T-Mobile may as well.

:rotfl2: so you got roped in too? how funny :rotfl2:

btw, does anyone know if Nextel works anywhere we will be going? wonder if the Direct Connect will work too?

Well, that leads me to another question....haven't checked if its been discussed (so please let me know if there is a thread on this somewhere) but does anyone have any particular recommendations on those motorola or cobra radios (or any other brands)? I've never used one and don't know how many different frequencies they are capable of using...guess if they are limited trying to use them on a ship might be a bit challenging...

any thoughts?

tks!

Although I do would like a sword sash, a sword (I think it will have to be plastic) and I need guns- 2 to be exact. :lmao:

With all the airline security restrictions, can guns, even toy ones, be in your bags? would they cause a problem with the scanners?

Imonso, we have a couple of old Motarolas, they work fine. A privacy feature is handy, in case other folks are on the channel you are using. We use ours in the morning, after a run I get the radio and turn Lynn's on. I go for coffee and Krispy Kremes, watch the sunrise, she calls when she gets up and I bring her juice. Be polite adn turn them off during shows etc.

I know there are new ones out there that have greater range, not sure how those work on the ship with all the metal.

I was going to volunteer for deck 7, but bluewaves beat me to it :thumbsup2 We did this on the eastbound PC cruise too and it worked great. Bluewaves, what room are you in? We might be neighbors because we're very close to the aft lifts.

Hey, I gotta do something around here!! We are in cabin 7535 - closer to the mid to front. Basically between the mid elevators and the front elevators.

OK, this is a new one to me. What do floor monitors do? Make sure we're all in by curfew?

:rotfl: Since no one else answered, this is what Linda (Seaulater) posted:

"Another thing...........

Last cruise we had one stateroom on each deck who volunteered to have a list outside their door with either stateroom numbers and disboard names of changed staterooms and guaranty's and for any last minute changes. I know that Aphoenix (Tony and Adrienne) have volunteered for deck 2. Any other takers out there for the other decks?

Deck 2-Tony and Adrienne (Aphoenix)

I will also put in the mini-navigator each deck and the stateroom number if you need to look for the latest changes.

Just post if you want to be the "floor monitor" HA :cool1:

Linda"

With temperatures as high in the high 90's (but feels like 110 with heat index (humidex) factured in)....my walking schedule has slumped....I am beginning to think I may be one of those weight loss resitant people that Dr. Phil talkecd about on his show a few weeks ago....I have tried Jenny Craig, Weight Watchers and just about everything else on the market but due to other medical problems, weight loss for me is a difficult thing. Everyone said that the Weight Watchers program would work for me so I followed the problem religiously for the 12 weeks and guess how much weight I lost....zero!!! yup nothing.

So you will see me at the adult pool...jiggles and all...this is me.....

Oh Elaine ...

Come on in the water is fine ... :grouphug:
