Welcome Cathy

I sent you a PM about the cruise list and name badges.

Ken

I asked on the other board, but I will ask here too. Should I book my own flight or let Disney do it? I think I can save almost $500, but is booking with Disney worth it?? I am enlisted military (i.e poor haha) and want to be cost effective, but don't want to risk missing the boat!! Thank you all for making me feel so welcome already!!

Cathy
Afterthought-I have been trying to read all 353 pages (hahahahaha) and see that I will SOO fit in here. :) I already wear a lanyard to work, so I am already a "lanyard person", I like to talk, and LOVE to scrapbook! (I'll have to work on getting my DH to wear a grass skirt however). Now, few things that I am confused about. What are fish extenders? And what are the pins that everyone signed up for? OK, that is it for this minute. I'm sure I'll think of 10 more soon. Bye! :)

You can almost always book things yourself cheaper. Get a quote from Disney and then price it yourself.

I do suggest that you fly in the night before. One good place to stay is the Hyatt at the airport. Pricey but you may get an active duty discount, I don't know. People here can give you other hotel suggestions as well.

You'll also need to get from the airport to the port the next day. That will involve a rental car, Disney Cruise Line Bus, or some other mode of transportation.

Welcome to all the newbies!!

Make sure you all get your names on the roster and give me your e-mail address to add you to the newsletter mailing list. Between Hygiene99's post on page one and the newsletters, that will catch you up!

:welcome:

Just wondering, how many people booked with the board sponsor for this Trip ? :teeth:

We are!

Hi all.
I 'm so happy for all of you getting ready for your 11 day Southern!!
I am trying so hard to convince DH and DF's to go next year, but they are standing fast on not going due to it being the height of hurricane season.

We have cruised 4 times before, all in early July, late may and june. and have been very lucky on all of our cruises with weather.

How did you convince someone to go in september...do you just buy the insurance and not worry? Wish I could come up with something convincing...but looks like we may be going on Royal Carib. because they go in April.
But I really want to stay with Disney cruise line.

any help would be appreciated.

Welcome Aboard Cathy and Crew....

I think it is usually cheaper to book your own airfare. Your DH will not be alone in a Grass Skirt.

Also ask away with questions as the folks here are a wealth of info.

Peter and Tracy will get ya up to Speed with the Page 1 info adn newsletters.

It is KEWL we are still growing in numbers ....

Hope to see POC this weekend.

Oh I forgot we are also DVC Members.... :lmao: :lmao: :lmao:

Disgal, one must be willing to deal with teh season, i.e. changed plans etc...

Would normaly say book it yourself ! But !!

For a limited time, Disney Cruise Line is offering airfare for these two cruises for $99 roundtrip per person (plus taxes and fees) if you are traveling from almost any city located East of the Mississippi. If you live West of the Mississippi, you can get airfare for $199 roundtrip per person (plus taxes and fees) from most cities. (Anchorage, Honolulu, Canada and Mexico departures are excluded.) Note: transfers between the airport and the port are included in the airfare price! Airfare for people from the West coast includes a night at the Orlando Airport Hyatt if the guest arrives a day early. If they take a red eye, it does not.

Would have your agent or Dcl look into this !! :teeth:

Welcome aboard. This is an active group and just a bit crazy. Try to do as many things with the group as you can, you will be rewarded with meeting some great people and you'll have a great time. When we first heard about the DISers we were slow to join in, but once we got going, resistance if futile- we are one of them now. I don't know where you are stationed, but check with your MWR (Morale, Welfare and Recreation in the Navy) to see what deals they have with Orlando hotels or with the military hotel on Disney property, I think the rates are based on your pay grade. Transportation to the port might be cheaper if you rent a car and drop it off near the port. There are many ways to get to the ship, just keep looking for the best fit for you and your family. Look forward to seeing you onboard. Alex (USN,Ret)

We've already booked air but this is a great offer. Does Disney do air deviation? What is the cost? We're planning to fly to Florida the day prior and we're not flying home till two days after the cruise.
