I can clear up the Ladypoo one. I heard from her Thursday. She did cancel the cruise. I have to let Tony know yet.

Sorry - looks like Tracy beat me to the puch. :confused3 I guess I should have read the rest of the thread before speaking. :rolleyes1 Like I tell Heather, think (or in this case - read) before you speak.

I wonder if we should PM to the roster to see who responds and who does not. I would hate for Ken and company to go all that work and expense if some are not on the cruise. I would be willing to help with the PM's if needed.

Also - speaking of cost....do we just pay you Ken, when we get the Lanyards or do you want the money in advance?

Well - that is about it for now. We have homework to finish before tomorrow and then a very busy week.

Pray for sun for northern California!!! :sunny: :sunny:

When the next newsletter comes out, I could put a big note for everyone to review their posting on the roster and give the link (can't be any easier than that, can it?). Otherwise, you can only PM 5 people at a time. I can match up my mailing list to the roster and if there is someone not on my list but on the roster, we can PM them. What do you think?

Man o Man are we having a beautiful day. Lynn and I just finished dog walk #1 with the younger two. Lynn is out for a stroll with the older pup. Hit 70’s here today, lots of sun, really nice. I just finished some physical therapy exercises, the soup can are pretty heavy.

We should get a solid roster together for the lanyards. I would think Ken may even have a deadline for making sure the roster correct. I think we should use all methods of query to confirm folks, i.e. PM, email, and the newsletter. Folks who have canceled may not be reading the thread.

Now to share my special tropical mix for cruise days. It is simple and easy to pack.

Mix one little tub of Crystal Lite Strawberry- Banana – Orange with one little tub of Crystal lite Classic Orange in about 3 quarts of water. Get Ice and mix by the glass adding your favorite Rum. Adding a good dash of Pina Colada mix can be a nice addition. This way Lynn can have a non-rum one.

The dry ingredients are easy to pack along with a collapsible canteen. Store in you stateroom beverage cooler.

Actually - I had a thought - kinda dangerous I know. :teacher: How about if we just have everybody PM Ken if they want a lanyard/nametag. That way everybody is responsible for their own communication and no unnecessary nametags will be made. You snooze, you loose. :teeth: JMHO

Any help cleaning up the cruise list would be appreciated. We only had two families that were unaccounted for on the May Panama Repo. Out of about 350 people, that's not to bad. But, that also required a lot on work contacting people before hand to make sure they were still going.

As far as your second question - cost of lanyards - the lanyards and name badges are our gifts to everyone on the cruise list. We have a group of 14 that are sharing the cost. Lanyards and name badges will the provided to all members of each party listed on the cruise list. That's why it's very important to check and make sure each person is listed correctly. I won't be able to correct a name badge once we close off the list a few days before sailing.

Generally speaking, lanyards and name badges will be available for pick-up on the first day in the terminal and at the dis meet/sailaway party.

While this is one way to handle the problem, it wouldn't be my first choice. It would be better to have people respond if they don't want the name badges and/or are not going to be on the cruise. Saves mail box space.

:sunny: GOOD MORNING EVERYONE :sunny:
Beautiful morning here in the heartland. 60° and not a cloud in the sky. :thumbsup2
Every thing is blooming this morning and the air smells wonderful.

O.K the weather is still here. Got up to 70°+ today. Did some landscaping. Some looking at plants. Still a couple of weeks away for annuals. Lilacs are almost there. The trees are great.
TipYard.jpg
The purple tree in back of Tip is a dogwood :teeth:
and a crabapple is behind that.
Oh yeah, the Mint is up also. Did someone say Mojito? :thumbsup2

Low 60s here but a nice day. Bill decided to mow the lawn. We are on a hill, the house is at the bottom and we have about 3/4 acre. Anyhow, he was up at the top of the hill and I heard him shut off the mower (rider). He was chatting with some neighbors so I thought nothing of it, then they left and the mower didn't go back on. Seems he probably broke the drive belt. We have a replacement, but it would be easier to do it in the garage tomorrow then tonight. Do you know how hard it is to push a rider down a hill? Thought it would be easy. That was a work out!

Good evening everyone. Just caught up on 7 pages of posts. We are still booked for this cruise and I don't plan on canceling. (Or missing the boat!) :thumbsup2 In the past we have stayed at the radisson the night before sailing. I am not sure if we are going to do the same this time. We are only about an hours drive from the port, so it's not like we cant leave the morning of from our house. Although I like to stay at the rad, cause then I feel like my vacation has started 1 day earlier. ;)

Before our weather got nasty we got the sand bags out of the truck and Jeep, snow blower put up, some of the yard raked. Thunderstorms rolled in. Temp dropped and some white stuff in the air, melting before it hits the ground.

Bob the trees and Tipster look good. Mojito? Do you have a sugar cane patch to go with the mint?

Tracy, no comment on the mower, I am being nice. :lmao:

How funny. You found my secret ingredient!! Jenny Craig introduced me to Crystal Light On-The-Go. Little packets that fit one bottle of water. I like to mix the Fruit Punch flavored ones with a splash of a KEWL rum called "REDRUM", :stir: which is "a blend of 100% Virgin Island Rum and natural tropical flavors". It's so sweet, you can barely taste the difference between regular fruit punch C.L. and spiked C.L.

Let me tell ya, it's helped calm my nerves on a few extra hard days during this Deployment. :scared:

Sorry Suzie. It was a crazy weekend. I just sent you and a couple others an e-mail with the link.

I have stayed at both the Swan and the Dolphin. I prefer the Swam (Queen vs. Full beds and a little closer to the parks LOL). DH is a government employee so we love the rate!!

Hi everyone

Hey Brandy and Sandy, I was in your area last week. Sent the week at a conference in San Diego. Got to tour the USS Midway (aircraft carrier museum) one night. Very cool. Having been on same boats in the Coast Guard, it's hard to believe how big an aircraft carrier is. Glad to be back home.

Now I can get back to the office and work on the lanyards and name badges. :rotfl2:

The trees are very nice. Except the apple tree. Is blooming, but not a lot. We'll see.
Yes, the Tipster is still doing good. She enjoys days like today.
No sugar cane patch. Do have a jar of raw sugar. The large brown cyrstals. Guess that would work.

Bob - the picture is gorgeus. Love Dogwoods. Tip is a cutie. Got introduced to Mojito on the PC repo. MMMM Good. New addiction (among many)

Ken - you are correct about crowding up the mailbox. Sorry about that. Guess I did not think it all the way through. :confused3

A great big THANKS for the gifts.

Wow - 20 more Saturdays. I better start packing now!!!! OK seriously I did sort of. I actuall only have 3 more Saturday's before we leave for Hawaii and those are filled with Scout activities, Gymnastics and homework. So I have this cruise/travel box in storage that I started going through today pulling out what we need for Hawaii and I started a separate pile for the cruise. No anticipation on my part. :yay:

Oh and I uncovered my swamp cooler and discovered I needed a new fan belt. :rolleyes2 :sad2: Wonder how much that is going to set me back? (Tracy - I feel for you guys and the mower)

Well, better go fix dinner.

I thought we would all be wearing our lime green? :confused3 If that's not an I'M A DISSER beacon...I don't know what is! :lmao:
True, the lime green will make you stick out, but having this will get the attention. Everyone will know you are "one of those lanyard people" :rotfl2:

Why don't we plan on meeting around the tiki bar about 3:30? Bob can wear his grass skirt so we'll all know where the party is! :lmao: Then we can head over to Grills as a big huge group and descend upon them to watch the MAGIC - now that's a first!
Sweet Sue

:confused3 Silly me! Now if we can talk Bob into wearing that grass skirt we won't need anything to recognize each other. Although I'm not sure we even need the grass skirt. party:
Sweet Sue
No grass skirt for the dismeet. Maybe at the sailaway. Maybe on tropical night. Then maybe if I can't get it around my girth, maybe not at all. Of course maybe I could always use a table skirt.

The best I've had was in Key West at the Blue Heaven.
