Sept. 30, 2006 -- Eastern Magic

I joined in kinda late also, what is the DIS color thing about and what is PLA? Can't figure it out!

Cindy : Our 2 youngest kids are DD6 1st grade and DS9 4th grade. We go to Jacobson. That now makes 3 families from Chandler...any more lurkers?

Official DIS color is Alien Green. Lots of people wear t-shirts or braclets this color to make them easier for other DISers to spot.

PLA = is one of the dining rotations. The P = Parrot Cay, L=Lumiers, and A=Animators Palate

I swore to myself I'd be active on the Meets thread for this cruise, but time has gotten away from me! Is it too late to join in? Would someone be kind enough to share whatever meets have been planned? Here's our info:

Cabin 2139 DH Glenn, Me (Kim), DS Gavin, 5 and DS James 3. We've got main seating. Are people linking reservations, or is it too late? I'd love to know we're sitting with people who "get" Disney the way we do! We've all got costumes for Pirate's Night and we're going to have a blast.

ETA: We're sailing on the Lord Sheffield in St. Maarten, will be going to Coral World and on the tram in St. Thomas, and parasailing on Castaway Cay

:wave2: I hope I'm not too late!!!

We're neighbors! My family of 5 will be in 2135 and 2137!!

Shirley-
Hey! My kids are 5 & 9-really close to yours! They go to Navarrete, how about yours? We should really connect at some point and introduce them. Wouldn't it be funny if they already know each other somehow?

Hey - small world!! Navarrete is our home school but they go to Basha since I teach there. I would love to get together before the trip - I will PM you because I am going to plan something for this weekend if you are available you could join us.

Hi All,

The roll call is updated.

I love the roll call, but I think my 3 DSs are going to complain if they see it! Especially our oldest, who REALLY needs to shave his legs if he's a DD. :rotfl:

Sorry I didn't catch it earlier, but everytime I tried to download the file, my pc froze. Got tired of rebooting, then just plain forgot to go look at it.

Beth

Hi Beth,

Sorry about your boys. They've been fixed.

Need coffee...

David

Good Morning Everyone! I don't know about the rest of you, but I'm having a very difficult time sleeping these days. I was up very early running through the lists in my head  . Finally got up when my DH got up to go fly. Yep, he's a pilot. Tore through my closet going through clothes that I "might" take. I have a tendency to overpack so I'm really going to try and cut back this trip. The key word is try.

It was mentioned about how strict the airlines are in regards to carry-on items. My parents just flew to Alaska for a month and my mom had her travel size hand lotion taken away. :guilty: I would suggest going to the individual airline sites to see what is currently being allowed. You can visit the government site for TSA but some of the airlines have put stricter rules into place. Also, weigh your luggage. Airlines are cracking down on overweight baggage and accessing some pretty harsh fees.

I hope everyone has a wonderful day. Must get ready for work and get the kiddos ready too.

Eeeek! I can't believe it's almost that time! Sorry I haven't been around much, but my company is co-hosting a Web 2.0 conference tomorrow and it's been sucking my soul. I will definitely need a stiff drink at sailaway. (Actually, I'm sure I'll need one before that)

I am a bad DISer...I haven't even started thinking about packing yet. Fortunately, DBF (pmcougar) is much better about that than I am. He did the online registration stuff for us last night. What would I do without him?

Can't wait to meet ya'll! Doin' the countdown dance! :dancer: party:

Just spoke to Erin with the t-shirts..she will have them tomorrow and start shipping!!
I made a very lame door decoration last night...just enough to identify my DIS name and a cute "water" mickey head

I have to find my roll of magnets now!

Thanks! Do you know how you find out your dining rotation?

you can request a rotation..but it isn't guaranteed...I request PLA because I like Lumiere's on Formal night..

Last year, we didn't have PLA and when we boarded, we went to the dining room and they changed it for us, no problem.

Betsy,

Love the door magnet.

Okay, I have done nothing, I repeat nothing. No packing, nothing......nothing....nothing......  :scared1: !!!!!

My sleep is totally distroyed, I keep waking up thinking of all the things I need to get done before next Wednesday. I'm so tired!!! So when do you all think I should get on the ball and try to get us ready for this cruise? :listen:

I usually start packing a month in advance, I'm such a slacker this year!!! But I am really excited!!! :cheer2: :woohoo: Do you think I could hire someone to help me pack? :rotfl2:

The 28th can not come soon enough, but maybe it's to soon, since I haven't gotten my act in gear!!!

Gotta get back to work. :moped:

DiDi :grouphug:

Thanks...I found the Mickey head on the boards.

Don't feel bad..I haven't completely unpacked from the Ritz...let alone think about repacking!

OK, I NEVER pack for ANYTHING this soon. Am I the only procrastinator here? I feel I do way better under pressure and if I was to start now, I'd forget what I packed! The pressure to get started from you all is just killing me! (just kidding) Really though, I haven't slept in about a week. I, too, make mental lists in my head while I'm sleeping like sheep jumping over a cow. It is driving me crazy.

I just got off the phone with DCL and they couldn't give me my dining rotation, :guilty: just whether it was early or late, and its early as I requested.

So I asked about movies playing on board and here are the movies while we will be there:

Cars
Chicken Little
Narnia
8 Below
POTC 2 :woohoo:
Shaggy Dog
The Guardian
The Wild
Stick It
Step Up
Invincible

Just thought you guys would want to know!

Ok I've just spent about a hour trying to figure out how to post a picture. This is my test. :sunny:
David, here's our updated roll info for you. We were assigned a room (but we don't know our dining rotation?)

ktpbell (Karen/Todd)
ds5 Miles
ds7 - Patrick
Room 5514
Second seating

TraceyP, is your husband a pilot for fun or career? (well hey, I guess it can be both!) I just started flight training this summer and it's gotta a little obsessive for me, so I love to hear about other pilots out there!:)

COUNTING DOWN the days!!!!!
