Sept. 30, 2006 -- Eastern Magic

CNB1124/Cindy--Hi, neighbor! Hope we run into each other sometime...my kids are usually early risers, but I'm hoping the inside cabin darkness will encourage them to sleep in!

Traceyp, look forward to seeing you on the Lord Sheffield! I'm hoping my face won't be alien green that day :) I get seasick, but I'm hoping a combo of Dramamine and Sea-bands (wrist bands that use pressure points to relieve nausea) will do the trick. I've never been on a sailboat like this before so I'm taking a chance, I hope it works out okay.

I saw a mention of bracelets, if there are any available still I'd be really interested. I cheaped out and didn't get us matching t-shirts for embarkation so I'm afraid we'll be hard to spot without some kind of marker.

:dance3: :cheer2:  :dancer: :rockband: party:

I have just been told by my co-workers that I am getting a bit obnoxious regarding my upcoming cruise. LMAO :lmao: !!!! That's right, just call me obnoxious :rotfl2: :rotfl: :lmao: !!!! I'm leaving on a jet plane......the 28th is right around the corner..... :dance3:

I started the packing process last night and I slept better for it. I still have plenty to do and then weed out a lot of the extra's. I also do laundry while on the cruise. Other than going naked (which I highly don't recommend :scared1: ) packing can be a beast. I'm packing only three pairs of shorts for DH, DS and myself. Lots of extra tops, maybe not, I think I will purchase a few for the gang.

Gotta to run, and get some work done...yah...right!!! :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc

Betsy,

I'm looking and looking. I'm about to jump out of my skin!!! Thanks for making me more spastic!!! ;) :rotfl2:

Wow! I haven't had a chance to check in for a couple of days and you all are going wild! I guess we all are getting excited - it is hard to believe how close it is! I can't wait for vacation, but I could sure use a few extra days to pack and prepare - days without interruptions, soccer, meetings, etc. that is ;)
I did make 3 lists this weekend so that has helped me calm down a bit - things I want to make sure to pack, things I have to do, and things I have to buy. Hopefully we will get a lot packed this weekend. It is pretty cool here now so my kids have not been wearing shorts to school any more.

Betsy, I like your sign - the water Mickey is really cool!

Sheila, thanks for posting the movies - you saved me a call :thumbsup2

Karen, your boys are so cute! I am glad to see another DS7 on board. Mine says he is not going to the club! He is very shy at first and is afraid he won't find anyone to play with. We may try to get him into OL instead of OC since he will be 8 in January - that way he will at least have is sister (DD11) near him part of the time.

Anyway, back to "work" for me (I am a stay-at-home mom but have tons of volunteer stuff I do) - WAY TOO MUCH to do and too little time to do it!

Have a happy day!

Kim, Don't worry you won't be the only one green on Lord Sheffield. I'll be right there with you. This is cruise #8 for me and I've yet to make one of them without being sick. No, I don't like getting sick but I sure do like cruising! :boat: I've been trying to get the patches for the trip and the manufacturer is backed up. My pharmacy is calling all over to see if anyone in my surrounding area has some. I forgot about the sea-bands. I used those years ago when I was pregnant and cruised. Thanks for mentioning those. I've gone as far as getting a shot in my rear :sad1: on a cruise before.

We got in on this late so I didn't know anything about the shirts or the bracelets. I have three alien green rubber bracelets that say HOPE (it will stand for HOPE our flight is on time, HOPE I packed correctly, HOPE I don't go crazy before sail date and HOPE if I do, my DH will still get me on the plane so I can go.) I don't think DH will wear one, so my DS's and I will have them on. Everyone will recogonize DH, he's 6'5" and have three crazed Disney fans running around him in circles :sad2: . He'll be the one that looks exhausted and broke (ha).

Up again around 4:00 a.m. this morning going through things. My required 7 hours of sleep is messed up! So excited  I can barely stand it! :yay:

See everyone in a little over a week! :cheer2: :cool1:  party:

I called to ask if the new shampoo products would be on our sailing. The rep made a call, but couldn't really give me an answer. So, you probably should plan that they won't be there.

Along those same lines, just how bad are the hair dryers? Do I really need to bring one?

DiDi - you are hilarious :lmao: My co-workers are sooooooooo ready to get rid of me - they've all had their vacations except one. She goes on DCL the week after I come back :rotfl2: I know DD's school chums and teacher are ready to get rid of her too. I asked her about it last night. "Honey, do you constantly talk about your cruise at school?" YEP, MOM, I DO. "Well, guess what?" SO DO I :lmao: Plus, I am printing out a picture of the ship at Castaway Cay and I'm going to put it up on my monitor while I am gone with an arrow and "I AM HERE - YOU ARE NOT" :lmao: We have a meeting tonight at school with her teacher. I can only imagine. Wish me luck :thumbsup2 Actually, its just a "goal setting" meeting which is a new thing for me. Never had to do that with other teachers. Hey teach, you're cutting into my packing time :rolleyes1

Cindy - I've never been on a cruise, but am told the blow dryers are horrendous and if they're anything like hotel blow dryers, I'm bringing my own!

Have been so busy at work the last few weeks. Now that it is getting down to the wire, time here is moving slow! I can't believe its only WEDNESDAY! UGH!!!

Packing is becoming easier. I opened two of the suitcases and every once in a while, throw something in passing through the living room. No shorts or suits needed here anymore. Brrrrrrr.

Oh, did I forget to mention SINGLE DIGITS, BABY! :cool1: :cheer2: :woohoo:

Hey Tracey,

Last year everyone would try to beat me to the boards in the morning, I would be the sick chick who would post prior to 5AM eastern time. Nice to meet someone who doesn't know how to sleep in. ;)

I know what you mean about sleep, the closer I get to cruisin the less sleep I get. :Pinkbounc

I'll check in real early in the AM tomorrow just to chat with you!!! :rotfl: Just ask David my dear BIL how obnoxious I can be!! :rotfl2: I've tone down a bit from last year, but since you told me of your non sleeping habits, I feel I have found a friend!!! I'll be saying hi with a cup of Java in hand.

DiDi

Didi,

Good to know I'm not the only one. I don't think I've ever been this wired for a trip before. Once I was told about the boards and started reading I realized that I was far from the know. I'm a control type of person (not obnoxious) and realizing that I was not on my game, sent me into a tail spin. I'm afraid my DH thinks I've gone over the edge. I seldom surf the Internet and never enter chat rooms or anything like this. So, for him to see me check this board morning and night (he's not with me at work for noon), he thinks I've gone crazy.

I thought about having my oldest DS go to the kids board to see if that would have him feel more comfortable. He's been so busy (like all of us) that he hasn't. He is very shy at first so I'm praying he will relax (he's got my genes) and enjoy the club.

I've tried to keep my mouth shut at work. Most of my staff have never cruised before or taken a vacation like this. Those that are closest to me, can tell I'm climbing out of my skin to go. I'm afraid by next week, they'll have to tie me to my chair. I'm supposed to go out of town on business next Wed. for the day. Quick trip to Minneapolis (6:00 a.m. - 11:00 p.m.). So, that knocked one entire day out for packing, planning, etc. Goal is to get it done this weekend between commitments.

I thought I'd take a few Benedryl tonight to see if I can sleep. If not, we'll chat tomorrow morning.....early!

Sheila, :lmao: :lmao:

Everytime one of my co-workers comes by, I start singing Zip a Dee Do Da, I'm gonna be gone while you're here to stay..... see along!! :lmao:

I sometimes get the response, "don't let the door hit you on your_____ on the way out" They love me here!!! ;) :rotfl2: One of my co-workers told me she was going to knock me off and go in my place. Do you think my DH will notice? :confused3

I had my meet the teacher on Monday, she told me to send her a note the day before we leave to remind her that Patrick will be gone and to get his homework. Patrick has not shut up about it to all of his classmates since he started back at school. Well, I guess there will be one more thing to add to my list, give the teacher a note!!! :rolleyes1

Ladies bring your own hairdryer. YES!!! They stink!!! I want to have at least one nice picture without my hair sticking up all over the place. I can't wait to have the fizz thing happening with my curly hair. What a sight!!!!

Sheila, are you going to the early dinner, has David done his thing with getting everyone hooked up at the dinner rotation?

Gosh, I should get back to work, hmmmmmm :confused3 :lmao:

Gosh, you all have been busy on here. I have been packing for the last two days. I am pulling out my hair trying to figure out how I am going to get all of our clothes into a few suit cases. I guess I will just have to do laundry. YUK! We are just a few doors down from the laundry room so I guess that is a plus. Trying to look on the positve side :goodvibes Well I am going back to my packing, unpacking mode.

Hey, that's my ringtone on my cell!! When I get a call I get all warm and fuzzy inside. Oh wait, it's on vibrate!! :lmao: :lmao:

Thanks for the movie info!! Saved me a call too. Plus, I like what they're showing. :thumbsup2

Hang on folks, here's my single digit dance   :Pinkbounc :bounce: :cool1: :cheer2: :cheer2: :yay: :dance3: :bounce: :dancer: :dancer: party: :rockband: party: :jumping1: :jumping3: :jumping2: :goofy: :goofy: :ccat: :mickeyjum

Shopping...woo hoo, still need to do alot of last minute shopping but that will probably happen either next wednesday or thursday as we are preparing. We are such procrastinators. Actually we just don't have the time, by the time we get home from work it is either i have softball, or we have to cook dinner, study for an exam after the cruise or something. This weekend we will be heading to the renaissance faire up in maryland, should be fun. Then one more week of work till we go. Making sure all the bills are paid before the cruise. Update on the softball season...

Monday nights games we slaughtered the team....literally. The first game was 30-5 and the second was 28-2. I had an amazing play at second. Line drive hit to first base, hits off his glove towards me, however at that point i was almost behind the first baseman, so i have to cutback to get the ball, during the cutback i fall on my butt, grab the softball barehanded, throw it in the general direction of first, pitcher is there to catch the ball and we beat the guy by about a half a step, i swear espn should come to our softball league. Many great plays. We are now 6-0 in our division. I will be missing 2-4 games while on the cruise, which is killing me since i am such a softball fanatic. I will have to be with them in spirit.

Sorry, no kids to really talk about other than her son and he isn't coming with us. It will just be the two of us young lovebirds. We both need this vacation though. Can't wait to share drinks with everyone. Oh and for those who haven't been, i highly recommend on the last night going to diversions for the final sailaway entertainment, it is hilarious. Ciao.

DiDi, I do have early rotation and I think David was going to hook me up, but not sure :confused3. I called yesterday to find out what my rotation was and they couldn't give it to me. :guilty: Oh, well, I'll be surprised!

Im getting soooo excited!! :rotfl: i drive my friends crazy always aying only 9 more days till i leave!!! oh i am sooo ready for vacation!! school is on my nerves... :scared1:

Good Morning to all!!! :sunny:

Tracey must be sleeping in...I guess the drugs did work! :rotfl2: I'm on my second cup of coffee, Patrick is up telling me the number of days til we are flying out of Boston....7 days!!! :cheer2:  :Pinkbounc :cool1: The young on is one his mother's schedule...he's totally wired for this trip too. I do hope he doesn't fall alsleep in class. It was rather hard for me a couple of days ago in the meeting I had...I wish I had Disney stickers to hold my eye lids open.

Barney, my loveable kitty  :scared1: is telling me to feed him or he'll be chomping at my leg in a minute.

Well, I'll be back in a bit.
