Sept. 30, 2006 -- Eastern Magic

Oh..i felt so bad for her..I wanted to offer to watch your little girl! I felt so bad..we did get out of the elevator and take a deep breath because we were holding it so as not to inhale the virus..LOL
Hope she is better!

The one big downer was that I left my camera somewhere last Sunday morning (either at Mickey's Mates or at bingo in Rockin' Bar D) and whoever found it decided to keep it! I had a pretty miserable day after that (I was the one sobbing in Mickey's Mates later that day if you saw me  ) - it is inconceivable to me that someone would keep someone else's special memories!!! I mean, obviously I was on the ship - it is not like the camera was lost in the middle of Times Square where you would have no idea where to turn.

Kathie, I am so sorry to hear about your camera. I held our camera most of the trip as DH is known for either dropping or losing cameras. I can't tell you how many vacations we've had to buy a new camera because of that (including last year's West Coast cruise in June!).

I don't know what kind of camera you had, but there was a very nice (on the larger side) camera case (and camera, I suspect, based on the weight of the case) sitting on the lost and found table in as you were going through Customs. I was amazed that someone could lose a camera and not think to go to Lost and Found, but there you go...could that possibly have been yours. I'm sorry I didn't pay closer attention to the logo on the bag, but it was black (surprise!) and about the size of a (tall) half-loaf of bread.

Update on Liam...went to the doctor this morning, and he has a mild form of pneumonia (mildly contagious, per Doc) not a bad sinus infection complicated by asthma as I had thought. So, he caught something nasty on the boat and probably got others sick. He wasn't in the Lab that much, but he was there for several hours on Thursday. Hope he didn't get any of ya'll's kids sick. If so, sorry!

Off to change over loads of clothes. I'm still trying to find stuff....I packed so quickly, I don't know where everything is!

Beth

Kathie..call them!
They just called me and said they didn't find my tape..but they will look next week. According to her, lots of stuff comes in the week AFTER a cruise...so you still have hope!

I'm hoping against hope to find the nice couple on the 2:30 pm parasailing trip (second boat out) who took my son's and my pictures as we took off the back of the boat.

I was so busy taking everyone else's pictures that I didn't notice my batteries had gone dead so they couldn't use my camera for our pictures. I had extra batteries in my case, but by that point, we were too far up them to hear!

So, if ya'll are there....please PM me so I can get you my email or snail mail. For the others whose pictures I did take and have emails for, I'll try to get them to you in the next day or so.

Thanks for all the good wishes! I'm still in happy land right now. Definitely not back in work mode yet. :cool1: We are not planning a CC wedding because it would be hard for our large families to do a destination wedding. We did see bride go by on a decorated golf cart, which was pretty cool!

Wow! It seems like a lot of people were getting sick! It was like the "ship o' plague." I only got sick once from a combination of motion sickness and eating too much at Palo's for brunch so I feel lucky by comparison. I hope everyone is feeling better soon!

I found it!!!

My castaway taping was at the end of my DREAMS tape...I thought I had a new tape for CC!! I am soooo excited!!! I thought I was going to cry last night!!

WOW!! Castaway was prettier than I remember!

Thanks for all the kind words everyone! Beth, unbelievably, that camera was at Guest Services last Sunday too - I can't believe no one ever claimed it! We went to GS almost every day and check L and F at the terminal but no luck - every time we went they pulled out that black camera and showed it to us. I did fill out a report and will take Betsy's advice and call, but I don't have high hopes.

In the end though the important thing is that we had a great time! I am glad many of you did too!

Great news Betsy! I am so glad it turned up!
Kathie

P.S. Jeremy really liked meeting Kate - they seemed to hit it off. It was fun that we were on the excursion together so they could "hang out" on the boat!

Wow! Sounds like everyone had as great as time as we did!! This was the best trip ever for us!!!! :cool1: I'm missing Mahendra & Ana (our servers) as we speak! :rotfl2:

Sorry that quite a few of you got a bug. We managed to stay healthy throughout our trip. It was fun meeting the few folks from the boards, and sorry we didn't get to meet everyone - I actually napped thru the High Tea.

David, I had fun running into your wife Kathy all over the ship. Tell her I missed the adult show of Gary DeLena (not sure of the name, but she kept telling me not to miss it) and that I'll try for next time. And, I kept trying to hook up with Didi, but of course, she was always one step ahead of me! :rotfl: Thank goodness she slowed down a bit to enjoy some wine and then Palo's brunch with DH and me. :cloud9:

Our favorite places we visited were St. Marteen (Orient Beach) and Castaway Cay (of course!). We rebooked with a fake date for next year and will move it to Sept. 2008. DH wants to do eastern again, I want to do western - so we'll see what happens.

Good luck and happy memories to all.... :wizard:

Hi All-
We are finally back now...and so sad! This was such an amazing vacation. It was so nice to meet the many of you that we did, especially nice to dine right next to Beth (& family) and Kevin (& family). We made so many friends this trip and are booked for next year- oct 6th-western sailing. CAN"T WAIT!!!! Yes, we tried for 8534 again but it is already taken!!!!!! We are on the waiting list for any of those four cabins so we will keep our fingers crossed. Haven't even seen my pics yet but will try to download today.

We didn't get stomach thing but I did have bad cold. Started with sore throat, then chest congestion and now sinuses. Just kept popping advil and didn't let it stop me. Even went to Univrsal/Islands of Adventure for 4 days after. It was good but Disney still better. Halloween Horror nights was a BLAST!!!! Didn't bring the kids though...it is FRIGHTENING!!!!!

Ok off to do laundry...7 bags worth, UUGGGHHHH. Welcome home everyone!

Cindy

Hi all,

Back to reality!!! All I can say is that the trip was outstanding!!!! :cloud9:

Nice to meet Besty and her Mom! Hi. :wave2:

Angela and Dan....Palo's yummy. :thumbsup2 Okay, so my husband and my sister and other family members couldn't find me either. :rotfl: Gosh where was I? Was the cruise all a dream. :confused3 Nope, got the bill to prove I was there!!! :lmao:

Loved Orient Beach, and Secret Cove on St. Thomas. We had awesome tour guides. :thumbsup2 I'll have to post the info about them on the board.

Only issue I had was on Formal night, we lost the water just before dinner and then when it did come out it was brown. Let's just say, Bill and I had to take a shower  :scared: prior to the formal dinner. We ordered bottle water that night.

After our wonderful experience with the Islands, we want a week stay at any one of them.

Well I have to go and get back to work.....

I'm too lazy to go through posting some pictures again over here, so I'm just going to put a link to my blog summary of our trip. I would have been writing for days if I tried to sum it all up so I just tried to get highlights. :cool1:

Blog post about cruise (with pics!)

I had over 100 photos so I couldn't post them all. :sad2:

Megan-

I can't belive this! I just went to your blog to check out your pics and just realized that you and Patrick were our partners for the magic quest game. Remember us? We had to find stuff and bring it to Keone on the stage? That was so much fun! I only wish I had put two and two together and realized that you guys were who you were and were from the DIS board. Say hi to Patrick for us and many conrats on your engagement! BTW, I thought you guys were already engaged....silly me!

Cindy

Finally HOME!!! My kiddos also ended up with congestion. We called the doc from Florida last Monday and got some medication. It helped with the infection but not the runny noses!

We had a great time meeting everyone and also rebooked for the Oct 6 Western!! We also booked Dec/Jan New Years Eve crusie - we may bump that into '08.

Well after the cruise we spent a week in WDW - we did not get chosen for a dream award - RATS!! We saw people with ears, lanyards and a dream pass - We talked to them and they won all three on the same day at various rides! We plan to go to Disney land and try again!!! I would rather try the cruise again but I will have to wait a year. BUMMER.

See ya,
Shirley

OOOOHHHHH good! The Chandler girls all going on western 10/6/07 together! YYIIPPPEEE! I have to tell ya Shirley, after seeing you and Emily in the kids club, I don't think I saw you again for the entire cruise! Where were you hiding out? I saw Jen alot-infact, I wound up sitting next to her in Palo for brunch and ate half my meal before even realizing she was sitting right next to me. I guess I was in la la land. I am so gald we are all booked again together next year. Very cool!

Have fun going back to work. I know youd rather be sailing though.... ;)

Ok, for all of you wondering how i proposed to my wonderful fiance, i have put up the video on youtube and here is the link

http://www.youtube.com/v/E4B_1l30O28

She wants to shoot me for putting this up cause she gets embarrased but i think it is awesome and now everyone can share that moment with us. We both have alot of people we talk to from everywhere so this was a quick way to show everyone. I have like 2 hours of video to edit but i figured i would post this first for everyone.

Rellyrooly that is pretty funny, we had seen you guys a few other times at the shows and how we never realized who each other was, well now we know. Unfortunately we will be on the sept. 15th cruise with a bunch of people, i think the count is up to 11 now. It may even be our honeymoon, we haven't decided yet still many things to figure out.

Sorry we didn't get to hang out with many people but we still had a blast. Hopefully we all keep in touch.

 Patrick

Cindy! We had lots of fun with ya'll during that scavenger hunt. We have the whole thing on video, including some bra flashing from a "shall remain nameless" DIS Boards member... :p We were engaged at that point, he had proposed just before the cruise so we definitely had something to celebrate! I hope ya'll had a great time too! I can't wait to go again! :wave2:

Cindy and Shirley: Come on over and check in for the Oct 6, 2007 thread. :smokin: Less than a year to go :lmao:. We are booked into a Cat 6 with a Cat 11 across the hall for the teen girls. Enjoyed meeting you both and it was pretty funny to be sitting next to Cindy at brunch and not really paying attention to who was sitting next to me  Tom and I still laugh at the beepers going off at Palo during brunch (and the poor kid sneeking in 3 times :teeth: ) Shirley, Hannah :butterfly spotted you all at MNSSHP but you were walking in the opposite direction so I didn't see you in time to say Hi  Also ran into someone from Awatukee.

Ugh, got to go do an internet check on our hotel in Hawaii...we are booked for 10 days on spring break on the Big Island outside of Kona...hope they had no damage from yesterday's earthquake.

My parents went to DW while we were on the cruise and they got 2 of the lanyards and had no idea what was going on. Once they figured it out they were very excited and started buying more pins :) . It's all just a matter of luck, I guess.
